Kenneth A. Adams
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Kenneth Alvin Adams, 85, of Charles Town, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at Rose Hill Nursing Home in Berryville, Va.
Born Nov. 1, 1912, in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of the late Delbert Adams and Minnie Adams Chappell.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Norma J. Pobega of Linden, Va., and Nancy King of Capon Bridge, W.Va.; two sons, Kenneth M. Adams of Falls Church, Va., and Harry F. Adams of Chantilly, Va.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin M. Adams.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown, W.Va. Burial will be in East Oak Cemetery, Morgantown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
Margie I. Knipple
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Margie Isabel Knipple, 84, of Rt. 1 Box 45, Falling Waters, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 6, 1912, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Elijah and Georgia Virginia Piper Gray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Charles Knipple Sr. in 1971.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by five daughters, Cora Virginia Myers of Funkstown, Mary Louise Glovan of Florida, Bertha Loretta Vrzich of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Evelyn Lorraine Griffith of Charles Town, W.Va., and Delores Ann Bryan, Marlowe, W.Va.; two sons, Elliott Charles Knipple of Boise, Idaho, and Robert Eugene Knipple of Marlowe; two sisters, Eula Jones and Josephine Dodson, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Calvin Staubs of Martinsburg; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Albert Knipple; two sisters, Mazie Henderson and Betty Jones; and three brothers, Raymond Gray, Richard Gray and Jack Staubs.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague Street, Williamsport. The Rev. Wyman E. Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Falling Waters, W.Va.
Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Monday for the convenience of family and friends.

Paul A. Wise
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Paul A. Wise, 86, of Manor Care Health Services, formerly of 852 Cleveland Avenue, Chambersburg, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, at Manor Care Health Services in Chambersburg.
Born Dec. 22, 1910, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late David Z. and Mary M. Miller Wise.
He was first employed by the former Interwoven Company in Shippensburg, Pa., and then by Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown, and as a security officer at various businesses in the Chambersburg area.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie E. Hockensmith Wise, whom he married Oct. 19, 1935; and one sister, Betty W. Hamlett.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

Katie Eberly
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Katie Eberly, 91, died Sept. 17, 1997, at the Arbors in Melbourne, Fla.
She was born Katie Rebecca Easterday in 1905 in Frederick County, Md. She was married to Israel L. Eberly in 1925 and later moved to Hagerstown, where she was employed by the Hagerstown Shoe Co. until her retirement in 1970. She and her husband moved to Eau Gallie, Fla., in 1978.
She attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Eau Gallie. She was a past member of the Seaside Piecemakers, a local quilt club.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dora Jane Lynch of Buena Vista, Va., Nancy Ann Saylor of Campbell, Calif., and Ellen May Huffman of Melbourne; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, Rockledge, Fla.

Mary L. Metz MacMullen
FREDERICK, Md. - Mary Louise Metz MacMullen, 70, of 811 Montclaire Ave., Frederick, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 10, 1926, in Mt. Jewett, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Henry Rex and Mary Pauline Dahlberg Metz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Holt "Bill" MacMullen on June 11, 1997.
She graduated in 1944 from Columbia University as a registered dental hygienist. She was a life member of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary since 1970, having more than 11,000 volunteer hours.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Ann MacMullen and Betsy MacMullen, both of Frederick; one son, Robert Alan MacMullen of Texas; one sister, Barbara J. MacMullen of Lampeter, Pa.; and one grandson.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Olive E. Baker
FREDERICK, Md. - Olive Elizabeth Baker, 82, of 1600 Berry Rose Court, Frederick, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1997, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 9, 1914, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Dwight Welsh and Leah Belle Foutz Dunkle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Donald Baker.
She was retired from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown.
She was a member of New Life Foursquare Church in Frederick and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brethren Hood of Railroad Trademen.
She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Dolores Rhodes Fogle of Frederick; one sister, Virginia Susan Dunkle Hart of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. at New Life Foursquare Church, 5913 Jefferson Pike, Frederick. The Rev. Robert L. Burnett and the Rev. Lloyd E. Fuss will officiate. Burial will be in a mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
There will be no hours for visitation at the funeral home.

Mabel E. Barker
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mabel E. Barker, 83, of 9687 Circle Drive, Chambersburg, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 4, 1914, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Diehl Reitz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Barker.
She was a retired laborer at various factories in the Chambersburg area.
She is survived by one daughter, Frena McInnis of Boothwyn, Pa.; one brother, Paul Reitz of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Kenneth E. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Sunday.

Nellie Delazio
PARDEESVILLE, Pa. - Nellie Delazio, of 203 Main St., Pardeesville, died Saturday, at Hazleton St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Born in Pardeesville, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Anna Cussatt Lamanna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred.
She was a member of St. Nazarius Church in Pardeesville.
She is survived by two sons, Fred Jr. of Hagerstown and Ronald Delazio of Whitehall, Pa.; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at Fierro Funeral Home, 26 W. Second Str., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nazarius Church, Pardeesville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
in Drums, Pa.

Lois M. Frazier
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lois Mable Frazier, 78, of Martinsburg, formerly of Vienna Court, Frederick, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at her daughter's residence in Martinsburg.
Born Feb. 15, 1919, in Amherst County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry Nucklos and Hallie Nucklos Nucklos.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Eugene Frazier Sr. on July 12, 1990.
She was a member of DAV Auxiliary of Hagerstown.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Jean Miller of Waldorf, Md., D. Betty Smith of Martinsburg, and Carolyn Sue Spaulding of Comstock Park, Mich.; two sons, Herbert E. Frazier Jr. of Hagerstown and Tony B. Frazier of Frederick; one stepdaughter, Marian Arnold of Lynchburg, Va.; one sister, Dorothy M. Camden of Hampton, Va.; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Luther Nucklos.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Stauffer Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Fretz, of Maranatha Brethren Church in Hagerstown, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.

Russell E. Remsburg
Russell Eugene Remsburg, 60, a resident of Avalon Manor Nursing Center, Hagerstown, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 6, 1937, in Keedysville, he was the son of the late Harry M. and Olive Virginia Clopper Remsburg.
He was of Protestant faith.
He was a member of Washington County Association of Retarded Citizens and participated in Special Olympics.
He is survived by four sisters, Alice Virginia Hockenberry and Bernice Ann Baker, both of Martinsburg, Mary Margaret Ahalt of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Kathryn L. Barnes of Fern Park, Fla.; three brothers, Ellis Gratton Remsburg and Harold C. Remsburg, both of Hagerstown, and Thomas H. Remsburg of Boonsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family, at Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville. The Rev. Joseph Downs will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Potomac Center on Marshall Street, or the charity of one's choice.
