Harvey E. Kline

TANEYTOWN, Md. - Harvey Ernest "Ernie" Kline, 72, of George Street, died Wednesday, October 8, 1997, at his home.

Born Sept. 29, 1925, in Wolfsville, Md., he was the son of the late James E. and Ada L. Kline Kline.

He was employed by Hiltner's Furniture Store as a truck driver, retiring in 1988.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of the Taneytown Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Betty Jean Bolyard Kline; two sisters, Louise Moser of Myersville, Md., and Carrie Bates of Hagerstown; one brother, Peter V. Kline of Boonsboro; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md.

The Rev. Don Webb will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wolfsville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Friends may call on the funeral home, Friday from 2 to 9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll County Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, Md. 21157.

Paul M. Munson Jr.

GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Paul Milton Munson Jr., 69, of Great Cacapon and Turnersville, N.J., died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at his home in New Jersey.

Born June 29, 1928, in Great Cacapon, he was the son of the late Paul Milton Sr. and Bessie Kidwell Munson.

He attended Great Cacapon elementary and middle schools. He was a 1946 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. He attended West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va., and then transferred to Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va., where he earned his B.S. degree in business in 1952. He earned a B.A. degree in elementary education from Shepherd College in 1959.

He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948, serving in China. He also served during the Korean War.

In 1953, he opened the Dairy Queen on U.S. 522 South, Berkeley Springs. He taught sixth grade at Berkeley Springs Grade School and ninth grade at Berkeley Springs High School. After selling the Dairy Queen, he moved to Smithsburg and taught at Sabillasville Elementary School, Sabillasville, Md. He taught two years at the Job Corps Center at Catoctin Park, Thurmont, Md. In 1969, he moved to Currie, N.C., where he was historian at Moores Creek National Military Park. He then went to Grand Canyon National Park, South Rim, and Albright Training Center, where he was schooled in park administration. He then worked at Abe Lincoln's Birthplace National Historic Site, Hodgenville, Ky., as administrative officer and Midwest Regional Office, Omaha, Neb., as a concessions analyst. In 1974, he moved to Turnersville to work with Mid-Atlantic Regional Office, Philadelphia, to prepare for the Bicentennial at Old City Tavern Restaurant.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Turnersville, and was a former member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs.

He was a member of AARP; Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60, Berkeley Springs; Risinger Stotler VFW Post 4019; Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483 and Deford Lodge 88 AF&AM, all in Berkeley Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Faith Elaine Reckley Munson of Turnersville and Great Cacapon; two daughters, Sarah Munson-Goldfinch of Pine Hill, N.J., and Laura Ann Munson of Turnersville; one son, Todd Reckley Munson of Groton, Conn.; and four grandsons.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, Wilkes and Congress streets, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Hennis H. Fox will officiate. Burial with military graveside honors provided by Tri-State Honor Guard and Masonic graveside rites by Deford Lodge 88 AF&AM will be in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.

The family will receive friends at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 227 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, N.J. 08012.

William C. Wilson

BRUNSWICK, Md. - William C. Wilson, 69, of 30 E. D St., died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997 at Northampton Manor Nursing Center, Frederick, Md.

Born May 20, 1928, in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., he was the son the late Clem l. and Bessie L. Griffith Wilson.

He was a homebuilder for Pulte Custom Homes in Rockville, Md.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Lora J. Osborne Wilson; four daughters, Cynthia K. George and Janice M. Marsh, both of Knoxville, Md., Sandra Dee Moffett of Charles Town, W.Va. and Penny L. Swan of Purcellville, Va.; one son, Steven E. Wilson of Mount Airy, Md.; three sisters, Phyllis Yeager of Brunswick, Geraldine Virts of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Elizabeth Knight of Florida; three brothers, Wesley W. Wilson of Falling Waters, W.Va., Deland Wilson of Keedysville and Richard E. Wilson of Sharpsburg; 15 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan D. Wilson; one son, William C. Wilson Jr.; two sisters, Mary Waters and Irma Lewis; and three brothers, Robert Wilson, Paul Wilson, and John Wilson.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick.

The Rev. Edward Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will open at 9 a.m. today.

Edna R. Ebersole

SHARPSBURG - Graveside services for Edna Regina "Pansy" Ebersole, 79, of 5518 Sharpsburg Pike, who died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

The Rev. Jerry Carpenter will officiate.

Friends may call at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral home will be open Thursday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Mary L. Wolfe

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Mary L. Wolfe, 72, of Apt. 202, 200 Faust St., Brindle Terrace, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, in ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Dec. 24, 1924, in Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late J. Calvin and Ivy Scott Suffecool.

She was a former employee of Mercersburg Dress Factory and Sagner's Sewing Co. of McConnellsburg, Pa. She was last employed at Scotland School for Veterans Children as a house parent. She retired after 10 years of service.

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mercersburg.

She was a member of Ladies Auxillary of Clarence Armstrong VFW Post 6241 of Mercersburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Dehart of Chambersburg and Shirley K. Wolfe of South Burlington, Vt.; one son, James F. Wolfe of Mercersburg, two sisters, Dorothy Hull and Mabel Etter, both of Mercersburg; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. W. David Kent will officiate. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing, however; the family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund, 8 Linden Ave., Mercersburg, Pa. 17236.

Edward F. Breeden

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Edward Franklin Breeden, 78, of Shenandoah Junction, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born May 26, 1919, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Raymond and Martha Miller Breeden.

His wife, Maxine Breeden, died in 1989.

He retired after 43 years with U.S. Steel Corp. in Millville, W.Va.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by one brother, John William Breeden of Baltimore; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, including Ollie Stoneberger Rodgers; and three brothers.

Services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

The Rev. Donna Herritt will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Mary A. Spickler

WILLIAMSPORT - Mary Alice Spickler, 83, formerly of Milestone Garden Apartments, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born Aug. 3, 1914, in Scotland, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George I. and Rosa Perry Maun.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.

She is survived by her husband, Ross H. Spickler, a resident of Clearview Nursing Home; one daughter, Louise Draper of Williamsport; one sister, Virginia Myers of Greencastle, Pa.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. James E. Swecker officiating.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport, Md. 21795; or Grace United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Winter streets, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.

Daryl L. Moats

Daryl Lynn Moats, 36, 11234 1/2 Marbern Road, Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, is a 1979 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

Richard A. Roth Jr.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Richard Anton Roth Jr., 23, of Charles Town, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Nov. 13, 1973, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of Richard Anton Roth Sr. and Rebecca Roth Dunlap.

He was employed as a welder with Can-Am Steel.

He was a member of Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle Alger Roth; two sons, Michael Anton Roth and Dustin Sly Roth, both at home; and one sister, Debbie Kain of Charles Town.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Roxann Pearrell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, W.Va. Pastor William P. Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the chapel funeral home.

Terry L. Brookens

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Terry L. Brookens, 49, of 538 Mount Pleasant Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Nov. 11, 1947, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Merle L. and Jane D. Myers Brookens Sr. of Fayetteville.

He was a 1965 graduate of Lake Orion High School, Lake Orion, Mich.

He was a retired truck driver.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Dana L. Falls of Lapeer, Mich., and Tracy L. Grose of Hazelpark, Mich.; one sister, Wanda C. Doran of Kenner, La.; one brother, Merle L. Brookens Jr. of Metamora, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Saturday, at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.

The Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hazel M. Vaccaro

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Hazel M. Vaccaro, 72, of 1406 Walker Road, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg.

Born June 28, 1925, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna M. Perry Rhone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Vaccaro.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Open Door Church, Chambersburg and Jolly 60's Sunday School Class.

She is survived by three sisters, Margaret Flory of Chambersburg, Esther Young of Dover, Pa., and Dorothy Wilson of Bendersville, Pa.; five brothers, Danna Rhone, Leroy Rhone, Donald Rhone, and Bob Rhone, all of Shippensburg, Pa., and Albert Rhone of Painsville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie M. Rhone and Helen M. Rhone.

Memorial service will be held at a later date at Open Door Church, 600 Miller St., Chambersburg, Pa. The Rev. Arthur Brown will officiate.

There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
