Darin A. Miller

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Darin Andrew Miller, 21, of 403 E. Pine St., died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, at Conemaugh Hospital, Johnstown, Pa.

Born Sept. 18, 1976, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of Pierce A. Miller of McConnellsburg and Dolly J. Miller of McConnellsburg.

He was a 1994 graduate of McConnellsburg High School.

He was employed as a busboy by Bob Evans Restaurant in Breezewood, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Barb Miller of McConnellsburg.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Burnt Cabins, Pa.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m.

Rhea C. Barnhart

QUINCY, Pa. - Rhea C. Barnhart, 95, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 402 Park St., Mont Alto, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at the nursing home.

Born Nov. 16, 1901, in Marion, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence L. and Annie V. Saum Barnhart. He lived his early life in the Clay Hill, Pa., area.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth H. Clark Barnhart, in 1980.

He attended Antrim Townships schools.

He was employed by Emerson Barntingham in the cost department from 1919 to 1925. He then worked at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, Pa., in the engineering department until 1928. Prior to retiring in 1967, he was employed by Landis Machine Co., Waynesboro, for 33 years in mechanical engineering and sales.

He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Mont Alto, and Friendly Corner Sunday School Class.

He was a life member and past master of Mount Pisgah Lodge 443 F&AM, Greencastle, Pa. He served as master in 1932 and was a member for the past 72 years. He was a member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of Harrisburg; Zembro Temple AAONMS of Harrisburg, Pa.; Waynesboro Shrine Club; national AARP; and Chapter 739 AARP, Waynesboro.

He was the last of his immediate family. He is survived by nieces and nephews including Betty Henry of Greencastle, who cared for him.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin H. Barnhart and Roy Barnhart.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Chaplain C. Albert Guyer and the Rev. John H. Ness will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m., where a Masonic memorial service will be at 8 p.m.

William H. Hunter

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - William Henry Hunter, 81, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.

Born Oct. 9, 1916, in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late James Edward and Nannie Catherine Henry Hunter.

He attended local schools and was a 1934 graduate of Bath District High School. He was a 1948 graduate of Cincinnati School of Embalming.

He was employed by the local post office before joining the military.

He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Navy.

After the military, he was associated with his uncle, C.L. Hunter, owner of Hunter Funeral Home. He purchased the funeral home and became the third generation owner of a business founded by his grandfather, Charles E. Hunter, in 1883. He continued the business until 1972, when he retired.

In 1955, he was elected to serve as the youngest mayor of the Town of Bath ever had. He served one and half terms.

He held various offices in the Young Men's Business Club, Kiwanis Club, Volunteer Fire Co., American Legion, Wildlife Association, Morgan County Fair Association, Francis Asbury United Methodist Church and the Selective Service Board. He was a member of DeFord Lodge 88 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Way, Free Masonry and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie Louise Widmyer Hunter, of 200 Liberty St., Berkeley Springs, whom he married on June 11, 1938; one son, James Carl Hunter of Albuquerque, N.M.; and one sister, Virginia Waugh of Berkeley Springs.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hunter; twin half-sisters, Mary Brill and Martha Price; and one half-brother, Ted Shackelford.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Hennis Fox, the Rev. Kelly Scott and the Rev. John Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Jennifer D. Wildberger

ESSEX, Md. - Jennifer DeLynn Wildberger, 11, of North Marilyn Avenue, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at her home.

Born Oct. 1, 1986, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of John D. and Sandra J. Bryson Wildberger of Essex.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Chelsea Wildberger; one brother, Dustin Malott; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Vonnie Bryson Sr. of Marlowe, W.Va.; and paternal grandparents, Jerry and Connie Wildberger of Florida.

She was preceded in death by one brother, John D. "JD" Wildberger.

Services were Sunday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk Inc., 7922 Wise Ave., Baltimore. Linda Poole will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to National MPS Society Inc., 17 Kraemer St., Hicksville, N.Y. 11801.

Charles S. Martin

BOONSBORO - Charles Samuel Martin, 88, of 24 Chestnut Ave., who died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Harvey F. and Maude Thomas Wilkenson.

Lynford G. Moser

Lynford Gordon Moser, 74, of 230 Hebb Road, Hagerstown, who died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, is survived by three grandchildren.

Lillian E. Hardt

CENTREVILLE, Va. - Lillian Edna Hardt, 86, of Centreville, and formerly of Chicago, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at Fairfax Nursing Home, Fairfax, Va.

Born Nov. 11, 1910, in Morgan Township, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Hans and Kristine Rasmussen Knudsen.

During the 1920s, she was an accounting clerk in Chicago and has been a homemaker since the Great Depression, when the firm went out of business.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

She is survived by three sons, Douglas A. Hardt of Chicago, Keith E. Hardt of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Centreville, and Lee R. Hardt of Lincolnshire, Ill.; one sister, Helen Nolting of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two brothers, Christopher Knudsen of Plano, Texas, and Rudolph Knudsen of Walnut Creek, Calif.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Olga Nielsen, Dagny Petersen and an infant sister; and three brothers, Robert Knudsen, Charles Knudsen I and Harry Knudsen.

Private services and burial will be in Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gilfillan, Minn.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, c/o Nolting, Route 2, Box 78, Morgan, Minn. 56266-9530.

Arrangements are by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs.

Milbrey A.D. Hansel

BATON ROUGE, La. - Milbrey Alice Downey Hansel, 80, of Baton Rouge, and formerly of Ithaca, N.Y., died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997, in Baton Rouge.

Born in 1917, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Anna Florence Snavely Downey.

She received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland in 1940.

She was active as a volunteer and contributed her efforts to numerous charitable organizations.

She was an avid gardner.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Hansel; two daughters, Kay DeMooy of Portland, Ore., and Barbara Hansel of Astoria, Ore.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ithaca.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hansel Lecture Series Endowment Fund, Office of Public Affairs, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

Doris V. Mowery

Doris Virginia Mowery, formerly of Mount Aetna Road, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at Our Lady of Hope Health Center, Richmond, Va.

Born in Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Zade P. and Flossie Gammon Gammon.

Her husband, Kermit Newton Mowery, died in 1994.

She was previously employed with White Coffee Pot Restaurant.

She was a member of Emmanuel Chapel.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean Shelton of Richmond, Va.; one son, William Hardy Jr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Edna Dalton of Danville, Va.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Jonathan D. Laye will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Disease Association, 10109 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Audrey I. Knodle

Audrey I. Knodle, formerly of 1 Surrey Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.

Born in Myersville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Fannie M. Moser Knodle.

She was employed by Maryland General Insurance Co.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Philathean Sunday School Class.

She also was a member of National Secretary's Association, a charter member of the Hager Chapter of National Secretary's Association and St. John's Church Bowling League.

She is survived by one sister, Isabel Knodle Kershner of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Poffenberger and Helen Semler.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown 21740.

Dorothy E. Mimnall

Dorothy Elizabeth "Dot" Mimnall, 70, of 18005 Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 5, 1927, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Franklin and Carrie Williams Grams.

She was employed as a medical book inspector by Harper & Row Publishers.

She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW 1936.

She is survived by her husband, Harry E. Mimnall; one daughter, Candace Winer of Olney, Md.; one son, Harry B. Mimnall of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; one sister, Edna Hopper of Silver Spring, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21742.
