Emilia D. Davis
Emilia Dutra Davis, 82, of 20 Richmond St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997, at Ravenwood Nursing Home.
Born March 1, 1915, in Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria deAndrade.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her former husband, Ben Davis, of Hagerstown; one daughter, Sandra Lee Davis of Hagerstown; two sisters, Ezaltina E. Nascimento of East Providence, R.I., and Amelia E. Andrews of Pawtucket, R.I.; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by 12 sisters and brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Entombment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Albert L. Scott Jr.
Albert Lee "Scottie" Scott Jr., 73, of 420 Belview Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 2, 1924, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Albert Lee and Helen Lashley Scott Sr.
He was a 1941 graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Catawba College and Brown University.
He was employed with Fairchild Industries for 32 years, retiring in 1986.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
He was a member of BPO Elks 378, American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42; and was treasurer of Suburban Kiwanis. He volunteered with the Red Cross Bloodmobile; RSVP; the Police Department; and with the preparation of income tax returns.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Schuhmann Scott; three daughters, Catherine S. Paradiso of Florence, Mass., Mary Helen Scott of Clear Spring and Peggy S. Mackrell of Ellicott City, Md.; two sons, John S. Scott of Baltimore and Edward L. Scott of Silver Spring, Md.; one brother, Robert L. Scott of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward W. Manalis will be celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Robert E. Huffer
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Robert Eugene Huffer, 45, of 115 E. H St., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Oct. 11, 1952, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Howard Marvin Huffer and Dorothy Miller Huffer Hawes.
He was the former owner and operator of Ken's Auto Center, Brunswick.
He was of the Brethren faith.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Huffer; one daughter, Rebecca Denise Huffer of Brunswick; one son, Jeremy Todd Heskett of Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Carolyn Potter of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Evelyn Diane Huffer of Brunswick; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Brownsville Heights, Md. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery, Brownsville Heights.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

David E. Finkey
David Elmer Finkey, 83, of 621 Medway Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 4, 1914, in Carlisle, Pa., he was the son of the late David Elmer and Susan Numaker Finkey.
He retired from Pangborn Corp. after 30 years of service.
He was of Protestant faith.
He was a member of Eagles Inc. of Waynesboro, Pa., Eagles No. 694 of Hagerstown, American Legion Home Association of Waynesboro, Red Men of Hagerstown, and Moose Lodge 1191 of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Lesher Finkey, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. Pastor Norris E. Sword will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Helen B. Bowman
UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Helen Baker Bowman, 92, of Union Bridge, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born Nov. 25, 1905, in Union Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph U. and Mary O. Watt Baker.
Her husband, C. Samuel Bowman, died in 1986.
She was a 1928 graduate of Western Maryland College.
She taught school for 31 years, first in Taneytown, Md., and then, until her retirement in 1959, at Elmer Wolfe High School in Union Bridge.
She was a member of Union Bridge United Methodist Church.
She and her husband were volunteers with Meals on Wheels for many years.
She is survived by one niece, Eleanor Dull of Westminster, Md.; one nephew, Dr. J. Fred Baker of Frederick, Md.; three great-nieces and great-nephews, and three great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Union Bridge United Methodist Church. The Rev. Barry Taylor will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery near Linwood, Md.
There will be no visitation.

William D. Crabtree
William D. Crabtree, 67, of 12319 Delwood Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 4, 1930, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late William and Kate Gillom Crabtree.
He retired in 1991 from Martin's Moving and Storage, where he worked as an estimator and claims representative. He previously served with the U.S. Air Force for 20 1/2 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was a member of American Legion Post 202, Williamsport; Four Cylinder Indian Motor Cycle Club; and a life member of NCOIC.
He is survived by his wife, Doris J. Lewis Crabtree; two sons, William L. Crabtree of Upton, Pa., and Stacy A. Crabtree Sr. of Falling Waters, W.Va.; five sisters, Virginia Lewis, Roberta Hesiton, Nina Sours, Dorothy Kave, and Daisy Kinzer, all of Hagerstown; three brothers, Evans L. Crabtree, William "Buck" Crabtree and Harold E. Crabtree, all of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Judea Crabtree.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Jack Fullen will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 8 to 9 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Prayers will be offered at 9 p.m.
William D. Crabtree
William D. Crabtree, 67, of 12319 Delwood Ave., Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997, also is survived by a sister, Nina "Jeannie" Sours of Hagerstown.
Florence M. DeLauder
Florence Madaline DeLauder, 88, of 1183 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.
Born May 25, 1909, in Fairview, she was the daughter of the late Frisby Tilghman and Jennie Florence Leatherman Fiery.
Her husband, G. Robert DeLauder, died in 1989.
She was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Eveready Society.
She also was a member of Dry Run Homemakers and a former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She is survived by three stepdaughters, Mary Jane Shank and Margaret F. "Peggy" Kershner, both of Hagerstown, and Julia Bea Duffield of Greencastle, Pa.; two brothers, Roger L. Fiery Sr. and Glenn E. Fiery, both of Hagerstown; three stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Shinham; and one brother, Frisby T. Fiery.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Steven Amundson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
