Robert L. Keeney
WILLIAMSPORT - Robert Lee Keeney, 66, of 15139 Clear Spring Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 9, 1931, near Hagerstown, he was the son of the late James Leslie and Minnie Bell Wetzel Keeney.
His first wife, Vivian Larraine Smith Keeney, died in 1982.
He was employed with Pangborn Corp., retiring in 1994.
He served with the U.S. Army in Korea.
He was a member of Conococheague Tribe 84 IORed Men in Williamsport; AARP; Joseph C. Herbert Post 222 American Legion in Clear Spring; and Moose International.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Siemon Blackwell Keeney of Williamsport; one daughter, Barbara Ann Chapla of Williamsport; one son, Steven Robert Keeney of Clear Spring; two stepsons, Herbert Walton Blackwell of Westminster, Md., and Randall Wayne Blackwell of Williamsport; one sister, Catherine Souders of Williamsport; one brother, Frank Keeney of Williamsport; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Daniel L. Shifflett Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.

Jacob A. Kesselring
SMITHSBURG - Jacob Aaron Kesselring, 4 months old, of 14236 Misty Meadow Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born Aug. 12, 1997, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Julian E. Kesselring Jr. and Tamara N. Rankin.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Audrey Wolford of Hagerstown and George Rankin of Richfield, Minn.; paternal grandparents, Linda and Julian Kesselring Sr. of Smithsburg; maternal great-grandparents, Gloria Wolford and Margaret Rankin, both of Hagerstown; paternal great-grandparents, Dorothy Emmons of West Virginia, Ira High of Ohio, Helen Kesselring and Julian Cauffman; one aunt; and three uncles.
He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Frederick Rich Wolford and Kenneth E. Rankin Sr.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ed Hampton will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

William E. Geary Jr.
William E. Geary Jr., 80, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 18, 1917, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William E. and Mammie J. Secrest Geary.
He retired as manager of shipping and receiving with Montgomery Ward after 38 years of service.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 378.
He is survived by his wife, Emma G. Kershner Geary; one son, Michael E. Geary of Hagerstown; and one sister, Josephine G. Rhodes of Hagerstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. The Rev. Andrew S. Mohl will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Prayers will be offered at 6:30 p.m.

Virginia E. Malott
WILLIAMSPORT - Virginia Emma Malott, 77, of 201 Grove Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 10, 1920, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late David Thomas Lesher and Emma Virginia Bennett Malott.
She was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for more than 20 years and retired in 1971.
She was a member of Williamsport Church of God.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by five sisters, Dorine M. Harshman, Norma R. Cian, Wilma Jean Startzman and Barbara A. Baker, all of Williamsport, and Berdenia Hastings of Clear Spring; and three brothers, Franklin D. Malott of Williamsport, Robert E. Malott of Ringgold and Philip G. Malott of Marlowe, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorcas A. Delaberdino; four brothers, Glenn A. Malott Sr., David T.L. Malott, William A. Malott Sr. and John E. Malott; and a special friend, Robert Holbrunner.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Williamsport Church of God, Md. 63, Kemps Mill Road, Williamsport. The Rev. Alan M. Greijack and the Rev. Dale C. Cosden will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

Corinne D. Manger
CHEVY CHASE, Md. - Corinne Deal Manger, 93, formerly of 3710 Woodbine St., Chevy Chase, died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997, at Vindabona Nursing Home, Braddock Heights, Md.
Born in Carroll County, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Caroline Racob Deal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. G. Edward Manger.
She attended Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore.
She taught piano in public and private schools for 50 years. She was a music director for Merchant and Miner Cruise Line in the 1930s.
She was active in church activities. She helped form group piano in Montgomery County Elementary Schools.
She is survived by one son, Dr. George E. Manger Jr. of Hagerstown; and a niece.
Services will be Saturday at noon at Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, 7001 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase. The Rev. Raymond Mooreland and the Rev. Jerry Weiss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Arcadia, Md.
Friends will be received at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, Md., today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Marie Lineweaver
STAR TANNERY, Va. - Marie Lineweaver, 76, of Star Tannery, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at her home.
Born April 25, 1921, in Star Tannery, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Cora Heishman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Casper Lineweaver.
She was a life member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a former council person, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of Star Tannery Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary and Central Homemaker's Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Hottle of Woodstock, Va., and Carolyn Bussard of Sharpsburg; one son, Kenneth Lineweaver Sr. of Star Tannery; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester Heishman, Milford Heishman and Boyd Heishman.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Gravel Springs Lutheran Church, Star Tannery. Pastor Martha Miller, Pastor Warren Heintzelman and Pastor JoAnne Bunn will officiate. Burial will be in Gravel Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

David Cook
David Cook, 60, of 11147 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, Mass., from a heart attack he suffered while unloading his truck.
Born Sept. 18, 1937, in Aarat, Pa., he was the son of the late Jay Cook and Louise Iona Weber Ross. He lived his early life in Northern, Pa.
In his early life, he worked on various farms. He then was a tractor trailer driver for Consolidated Freight Ways of York, Pa., then Ryder/Pie Trucking of Hagerstown, until its closing in the mid-1980s. He was most recently driving a truck for Glen Moore Transportation, Carlisle, Pa. He also owned Cooky's Flea Market on Walnut Street, Waynesboro, Pa., which he purchased in May.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during peace time.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1191 and William Max McLaughlin Veterans of Foreign WarsPost 695, all of Waynesboro.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina L. Sellers and Sherry L. Witmer, both of Waynesboro; three sons, David E. Cook Jr. and Scott A. Cook, both of Waynesboro, and William A. Cook of Hagerstown; two sisters, Betty Wigglesworth of Missouri and Marie Goga of Gettysburg, Pa.; three brothers, Donald Cook of Montrose, Pa., Robert Cook of New Oxford, Pa., and Charles Cook of Brackney, Pa.; three half-sisters, Dorothy Hobbs of Factoryville, Pa., JoAnne Ross of Hop Bottom, Pa., and Barbara Grisafi of Montrose; four half-brothers, James Ross of New Milford, Pa., Wilbur Ross, Daniel Ross and Kenneth Ross, all of Montrose; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Austin Cook; and one half-brother, Richard Ross.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Lynn D. Trutt will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Richard S. Phillips
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Richard S. Phillips, 76, of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, in Grand Rapids.
Born in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel E. Phillips Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Elizabeth "Betty" Kreider.
He had been the general manager of The Herald-Mail for 26 years.
He is survived by three children, the Rev. Barbara Pekich and Helen Phillips, both of Grand Rapids and Richard Phillips Jr. of Burke, Va.; two brothers, Samuel E. Phillips Jr. and Jack M. Phillips; and six grandchildren.
