Mary F. Shannon
Mary Frances Shannon, 87, of 1183 Luther Drive, Hagerstown and formerly of 395 Key Circle, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 9, 1910, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lewis F. and Nellie Lee Smith Blenard Sr.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis H. Wiebel III, in 1959.
She was a retired employee of Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one son, Lewis H. Wiebel IV of Lansdale, Pa.; one granddaughter, Sandra Lynn Roth of East Greenville, Pa.; one grandson, Lewis H. Wiebel V of Lansdale; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Shannon, in 1982; a granddaughter, Beverly Ann Wiebel; and a brother, Lewis Frederick Blenard Jr.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clyde M. Hoffman
Clyde Martin Hoffman, 90, of 828 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Williamsport Nursing Home, in Williamsport.
Born March 19, 1907, in Mount Lena, he was the son of the late Charles and Nancy Bowman Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rebecca Hoffman, in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was employed as a supervisor with Potomac Edison Co., retiring after 47 years. He was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club.
He was a member of First Christian Church, where he was on the administrative board, taught Sunday school; and was a scout master.
He is survived by two sons, Robert L. Hoffman of Charlottesville, Va., and E. Eugene Hoffman of Roanoke, Texas; one sister, Louise Wagaman of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jane C. Mason
HALFWAY - Jane C. Mason, 83, of 17138 Virginia Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at her home.
Born July 16, 1914, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Harry Samuel and Anna Isabelle Brinham Carter Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie James Mason Sr., in 1969.
She was employed with Alkahn Label Mill, Williamsport, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God.
She is survived by two sons, Paul L. Mason of Greencastle, Pa., and Donald L. Mason Sr. of Halfway; seven sisters, Mary F. Mason, Tempe G. Teach and Lindell M. Hughes, all of Williamsport, Lorraine Dovey, Elta M. Sowers and Josephine Creek, all of Hagerstown, and Audrey Jean Newcomer of Fayetteville, Pa.; two brothers, Eddie Carter of Williamsport and Mel Carter of Marlowe, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Leslie "Skip" Mason Jr.; one sister, Virginia L. Doub; and three brothers, James A. Carter, Harry S. Carter Jr. and Phil Carter.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Shawn M. Bushman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Catherine J. Mease
Catherine Josephine Mease, 87, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Apartment 1110, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 19, 1910, in Rollsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary Berghman Spicer.
She retired from Dorbee Manufacturing.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by a son, Donald Mease of Falling Waters, W.Va.; five sisters, Frances Grise of Cumberland, Md., Regina Keefauver of Frederick, Md.; Lucille Hershberger of Ohio and Martha E. Woodcock and Dorothy Hemphill, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Charles May of Cumberland; four grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise McKemmy, Martha May and Loretta Owens; and two brothers, George Spicer and Frank Spicer.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home; and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Angelica F. Biosca
BERRYVILLE, Va. - Angelica Filloramo Biosca, 54, of 214 S. Church St., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Va.
Born March 7, 1943, in Washington, D.C., she is the daughter of Eleanor Mary Filloramo, and the late Thomas Filloramo.
She was a self-employed physical therapist, and had been employed by Western Maryland Center.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She was a member of Berryville-Clarke County Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three brothers, Nicholas Filloramo of Bethesda, Md., Joseph Filloramo of Columbia, Md., and Ronald Filloramo of Bowie, Md.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Winchester, Va. The Rev. Andrew Gries will officiate. Burial will be in Middleburg Memorial Cemetery, Middleburg, Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Enders and Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville, where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Clarence Z. Shoemaker Jr.
ROHRERSVILLE - Clarence Zittle "Bud" Shoemaker Jr., 58, of 4409 Locust Grove Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 29, 1939, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clarence Z. Shoemaker Sr. and Linda Burcker Shoemaker.
He was a former employee of Dewey Jordan Construction in Frederick, Md., Brosius Homes in Frederick, and Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro. He retired from First Urban Fiber in Hagerstown.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of Central United Brethren Church in Rohrersville, was a lay leader for 25 years and a former Sunday school superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia R. Perkins Shoemaker, whom he married Dec. 29, 1956; two daughters, Sheila S. Shoemaker and Tina E. Berger, both of Rohrersville; three sons, Dennis W. Shoemaker of Frederick, Md., Michael D. Shoemaker of Coshocton, Ohio, and Christopher L. Shoemaker of Hagerstown; three sisters, Virginia Reeder and Barbara Jones, both of Boonsboro, and Marlene Gardner of Hagerstown; three brothers, Albert Shoemaker of Sterling, Ill., and David Shoemaker and Mark Shoemaker, both of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Central United Brethren Church, Main Street, Rohrersville. The Rev. Vic Moon and the Rev. Edward J. Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

Gladys G. Head
Gladys G. Head, 75, of 1026 Brinker Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Patricia L. Brewer in Hagerstown.
Born July 3, 1922, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Luther J. and Lucille Simmons Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Head, in 1983.
She was a graduate of Catherman's Business College of Hagerstown.
She retired as a telephone operator for Western Maryland Railway and CSX.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 211, Funkstown, NARFE and AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia L. Brewer of Hagerstown; two grandsons, J. Anthony Valentine of Fort Myers, Fla., and Thomas P. Valentine of Hagerstown; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m., where prayers will be offered at 6 p.m.

Lynda L. Allen
TAMARAC, Fla. - Lynda L. Allen, 61, of Tamarac, who died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, was born in Hagerstown.
She was the daughter of the late David P. and Mary E. Colvin Miller, and a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
James W. Bradford
BUFFALO, N.Y. - James William Bradford, 80, of Buffalo; and formerly of Flint Hill, Va., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born Nov. 5, 1917, in Flint Hill, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Ruth Presgraves Bradford.
He retired from Westinghouse Electric Co. in Buffalo.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three brothers, Cecil E. Bradford of Norfolk, Va., Robert T. Bradford of Portsmouth, Va., and Harvey L. Bradford of Hagerstown; two nieces; and one nephew.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Flint Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Merlin Shorb will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion.
