Wayne W. Williar
FREDERICK, Md. - Wayne Wright Williar, 63, of Frederick, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Lynn W. and William D. Perry of 1833 Millstream Drive, Frederick.
Born Aug. 10, 1934, in Mount Airy, Md., he was the son of the late Herbert B. and Teresa Wright Williar.
He worked with the State Highway Administration in the Engineering Division. In 1957, he went to work for Richard F. Kline Co., retiring in 1994 as president.
He was president and vice president of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church council.
He also was president and vice president of Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Co., and a member of AOPA.
He enjoyed flying, playing golf and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Moore Williar, whom he married May 2, 1954; one daughter, Lynne W. Perry of Frederick; two sons, Brian W. Williar of Walkersville, Md., and Gregory E. Williar of Lady Lake, Fla.; one sister, Carolyn W. Gibbes of Columbia, S.C.; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The Rev. Mark Foucart will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Emma R. Lancaster
Emma Rebecca Lancaster, 82, of 875 Pine St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 20, 1915, in North East, Md., she was the daughter of the late John C. and Elsie VanDyke Lewis Blank.
Her husband, Frederick A. Lancaster, died in 1967.
She was formerly employed by Dorbee Manufacturing and later retired from the clothing manufacturing industry.
She was affiliated with Mount Lena United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Women's Classic Bowling League, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She volunteered with the senior citizens at Walnut Towers.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria P. Witt of Charles Town, W.Va., Shirley L. Andrews of Hagerstown, and Bernice V. Huff of Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Mary Steel of Cumberland, Md., and Dorothy Blank of Wellersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Austin Blank and Andrew Blank, both of Mount Savage; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers and one granddaughter.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. Pastor Elza M. Hurst will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Charlotte L. Shaw
BOONSBORO - Charlotte Louise Shaw, 89, of 7925 Sharpsburg Pike, died Sunday, March 1, 1998.
Born Feb. 19, 1909, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Edith Barber Bragunier.
Her first husband, Vincent Childs, died in 1963.
Her second husband, Charles Shaw, died in 1984.
She was employed with Frank R. Jellius and Best Co., retiring in 1974 after 40 years.
She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Boonsboro.
She also was a member of Manor Church Senior Citizens.
She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Bragunier of Maugansville, Hazel Holland of Boonsboro and Clara Weishaar of Waynesboro, Pa.; one brother, Lawrence Bragunier of Williamsport; one nephew, Allen Bragunier Jr., with whom she resided; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen B. Bragunier Sr., Charles Bragunier and Robert Bragunier.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road, Boonsboro. The Rev. Anne O. Weatherholt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Marks Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Lewis L. Robinson
WILLIAMSPORT - Lewis Lester "Willy" Robinson, 84, of 15536 Clear Spring Road, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Avalon Manor, Hagerstown.
Born Dec. 22, 1913, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Fred Lester and Alice Mae Smith Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Katherine Kelley Robinson, in 1994.
He was employed by W.D. Byron Tannery, retiring in 1986.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Kisner of Hagerstown; one brother, Charles Robinson of Clear Spring; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted Robinson, Paul Robinson and Benjamin Robinson.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Phillis J. Guy
Phillis Jacqueline Guy, 74, of 13525 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Virginia Mae Colvin Knodle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Donald Guy, in 1963.
She attended Hagerstown High School.
She was a retired employee of Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and attended Robinwood Church of God.
She is survived by two sons, P. Sean Guy of Greencastle, Pa., and Phillip S. Guy of Charlotte, N.C.; one great-aunt, M. Catherine Knodle of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Blair Snyder; and one granddaughter, Kristen Patrice Guy.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. Pastor David M. Buchenroth and the Rev. Henry Marquiss will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing.
Nora M. Bowers Bradley
SHARPSBURG - Nora Monon Bowers Bradley, 91, formerly of 223 W. Chapline St., died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 15, 1906, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Leven Benton and Mary Anna Pierce Benner.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth W. Bowers, in 1949; and her second husband, Leon Bradley, in 1980.
She was employed by Clothing Apparel Co. in Millville, W.Va., retiring in 1970.
She was a member of Sharpsburg Bible Church, Sharpsburg.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth W. Bowers Jr. and Richard E. Bowers, both of Falling Waters, W.Va., Garman L. Bowers of Fairplay and Leven L. Bowers of Nags Head, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Irvin Bowers; two sisters, Annie Hebb and Maude Giffin; and one brother, Garrett Benner.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Gene Renner will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Chester W. Trumpower
PORT TOBACCO, Md. - Chester William Trumpower, 81, of Port Tobacco, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Physicians Memorial Hospital, LaPlata, Md.
Born Feb. 22, 1917, in Big Pool, Md., he was the son of the late William Ernest and Ida Adline Trumpower.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise B. Trumpower.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a painter.
He is survived by two sisters, Arlene Clopper of Clear Spring and Marie McGhee of Glen Burnie, Md.; and five grandchildren, Jean Beckham, Marie S. Keefer, Cherrie Kiep, Edward Parker and Michael Parker.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Shives and Hilda Trumpower; and one brother, Harris Trumpower.
Services were held Tuesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Arnold Taylor officiated.

Bess L. Moyer
WILLIAMSPORT - A memorial service for Bess Louise Lindaman Moyer, 102, who died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at Homewood Retirement Center, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Homewood Retirement Center Chapel, 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport. Chaplain Willard Rahn and her son, Pastor H. Clayton Moyer will officiate.
Ruth A. Dinges
Ruth Ann Dinges, 68, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Her husband, William C. Dinges Sr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Shaffer of Hagerstown and Patricia Ann Smith of Boonsboro; two sons, David R. Dinges of Myersville, Md., and Ronald A. Dinges; one sister, Patsy Streight of Oakton, Md.; three brothers, Edward Barber of Bluemont, Va., Allen Moreland of Martinez, Ga., and James Moreland of Hillsboro, Va.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie C. Moreland; one son, William "Joe" Dinges Jr.; one brother, Earl R. Moreland; and one grandchild.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville, Va. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery.
