Anna Elizabeth Fowler
Anna Elizabeth Fowler, 97, of 11 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Colton Villa Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 25, 1900, in Berryville, Va., she was the daughter of the late George William and Elizabeth Owens Romine.
Her husband, Sam W. Fowler Sr., preceded her in death.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and Fidelis Bible Class.
She is survived by one son, Richard Romine Fowler of Tujunga, Calif.; one stepson, Dr. Sam W. Fowler Jr. of Baltimore; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Dr. Sam W. Fowler Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, W.Va.
There will be no viewing.

Ronnie Salitsky
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Ronnie Salitsky, 76, of Delray Beach, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Delray Community Hospital.
She was born in Boston.
She taught arts and crafts in Hagerstown and Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Salitsky; one son, Paul Salitsky of Davis, Calif.
Arrangements are by Neptune Society in Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Calvin Coolidge "Bunny" Staubs Sr., 73, of Martinsburg, who died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, is survived by a son, Calvin C. Staubs Jr. of Martinsburg.

BOONSBORO - H. Louise D. Grier, 86, a resident of Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home and formerly of Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, also is survived by two nephews.
J. Lee Deener
BOONSBORO - J. Lee Deener, 80, of Boonsboro, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1917, in Brownsville, Md., he was the son of the late George M. and Margaret Violet Himes Deener.
He owned and operated Deener's Garage in Boonsboro for 40 years.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II, seeing action in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. He received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
He was a member of Boonsboro Lions Club; and a life member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 American Legion, Boonsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Edith L. Trovinger Deener, whom he married Dec. 27, 1958; one daughter, Stephanie Lynn Staubs of Fairplay; two granddaughters, Jordan Lee Staubs and Allison Lynn Staubs, both of Fairplay; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Deener.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Old Brownsville Cemetery. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.
Eva E. Miller
INDIAN HEAD, Md. - Eva Elizabeth Miller, 90, of Indian Head, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Elder Care, Waldorf, Md.
Born Dec. 11, 1907, in Middletown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward N. and Mary E. Alexander Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Miller.
She was a housewife.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Perkins of Erie, Pa.; one brother, Wayne Stevens of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at noon at Williams Funeral Home, Route 225 and Glymont Road, Indian Head. The Rev. James May will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
The viewing will be Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Charles County.
Carroll A. Newton
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Carroll A. Newton, 54, of 712 E. Main St., died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at his home.
Born Jan. 6, 1944, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of William Greene and Minetta Barnes Newton of Huntingtown, Md.
He was employed as a master journeyman electrician with Proctor Electric in Lanham.
He was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Local 26 IBEW; BPOE 684 Frederick, Md.; Sons of AMVETS; Valley Memorial Post 9, Middletown; and a master counselor in Demolay.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Roderick Newton; one daughter, Lera Ayn Newton of Middletown; one son, Roderick Carroll Newton of Middletown; one brother, Claude Newton of Portsmouth, R.I.; a niece; and cousins.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Middletown United Methodist Church, 7108 Fern Lane, Middletown. The Rev. Susan Halse will officiate. Burial will be private.

Francis Edgar Fowler, 76, of 125 N. Prospect St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 7, 1921, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Herbert and Elsie M. Fowler Baker.
Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Carl B. Black will officiate.

Zina E. Moody
Zina Eileen "Pat" Moody, 43, of 222 Jonathan St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 6, 1954, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Cleo Smith of Hagerstown and Henry Taylor of Phoenix.
She attended South Hagerstown High School and Hagerstown Junior College.
She was employed by Good Humor/Breyers of Hagerstown; and by Coffman Nursing Home as a nurses aide.
She is survived by one son, Jerome Broadus of Hagerstown; three sisters, Aloha Broadus, Sonia Broadus and Tonya Smith, all of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret "Peggy" Jones; and one grandchild, Justice A. Broadus.
Services will be Monday, March 23, at noon at Zion Baptist Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Haru Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are by Watson Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
Sarah K. Jennings
CLEAR SPRING - Sarah Katherine "Kittie" Jennings, 108, who resided with her daughter at 14602 National Pike, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 25, 1889, in Fairplay, she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Estelle E. Shafer Coffman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur S. Jennings, whom she married Feb. 17, 1915.
She was Washington County's oldest resident.
She was a housewife and worked on the family farm.
She was a member of Manor Church of the Brethren at Tilghmanton, and after her marriage joined Brownsville Brethren Church, where she was superintendent of the Childrens Department for more than 30 years.
She later was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, was a member of Altruistic Bible Class and Service Circle.
She was a member of Fahrney-Keedy Home Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Anna Estelle Smith of Clear Spring; five grandchildren, Linda K. Patterson of Bull Head City, Ariz., Nancy S. Hill, Donald P. Smith, John H. Smith and Robert J. Smith, all of Clear Spring; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi H. Coffman; and five brothers, Ira Coffman, Walter Coffman, McKinley Coffman, Frederick Coffman and Earl Coffman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, corner of East Washington and South Mulberry streets, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Old Brownsville Church Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown.

William L. Wiles
FAIRPLAY - William L. Wiles, 71, of Fairplay, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 12, 1926, in Big Spring, he was the son of the late Lewis P. "Red" and Anna P. Rubeck Wiles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madlyn Louise Myers Wiles, in 1993.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II.
He was employed at Christy's Auto, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42, Hagerstown.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl A. Baird of Chesapeake, Va.; five sisters, Nellie M. Shelly of Chambersburg, Pa., Mary H. Roberts and Nancy L. Barthelow, both of Clear Spring, Dorothy M. Stotler, and Marlene L. Gay, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Gary E. Wiles of Clear Spring and James F. Wiles of West Virginia; and one grandson.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg. The Rev. James Hamby will officiate.
