Yarnell L. Fogle
BOONSBORO - Yarnell "Yarney" L. Fogle, 31, of Boonsboro, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at his home after a six-year struggle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
Born July 16, 1966, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of Gloria Jean Linton Fogle and Robert Franklin Fogle of Frederick.
Prior to his illness, he was employed by Metal Fab Co. in Frederick.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and Baltimore Orioles baseball.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lisa M. Connelly Fogle; and two children, Leigh A. Fogle and Brandon R. Fogle, both of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Sylvia Linton; and paternal grandparents, Norman and Idell Fogle.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The Rev. L. Ross Kirk will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m.

William G. Eyler
William Greenberry Eyler, 75, of 17743 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, in Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 10, 1922, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Shane Eyler.
He was a mechanic for Ewing Oil, retiring in 1988.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of AARP, Potomac Post 202 American Legion in Williamsport, and a lifetime member of Harney Vets, Hanover, Pa.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Eyler of Westminster, Md.; a son, William Eyler of Westminster; a sister, Genevieve Shimp of Hanover, Pa.; a brother, Jesse Eyler of Westminster; two grandchildren; and a friend of 21 years, Gladys Carbaugh of Hagerstown.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 127 Britner Ave., Williamsport. The Rev. Robert Robinson will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Chester S. Hessler
WILLIAMSPORT - Chester Scott "Chet" Hessler, 76, of Williamsport, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1921, in Cherry Run, W.Va., he was the son of the late Herbert R. and Carrie B. Riser Hessler.
He was employed as a salesman for Massey Ford for 31 years, retiring in 1980.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men's Chorus. He also was a former trustee of the church.
He was a past member of Williamsport Lions Club; a life member of Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway and a volunteer of Halfway fund-raiser bingo; and a member of American Legion Post 202 in Williamsport, I.O.R.M. Tribe 84 in Williamsport, Williamsport Democratic Club and AARP.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Jane Martin Hessler; a son, Douglas Scott Hessler of Los Angeles; two sisters, Evelyn Rhoe and Dorothy Mock, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and two brothers, Hanson Hessler of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Junior R. Hessler of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ward Hessler, Cecil Hessler and Ray Hessler.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Albert L. Leaf Memorial Chapel of Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Richard Kroll will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, with military services provided by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Carol D. Long
CINCINNATI - Carol Doub Long, 61, of Cincinnati, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Born Sept. 30, 1936, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Harriet Doub Long of Hagerstown and the late M. Kenneth Long Sr.
She was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a 1957 graduate of Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa. She also did graduate work at the University of Cincinnati.
She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Fraternity.
She was a teacher in the Cincinnati Public School System until her retirement.
She was a Lutheran.
She was an avid equestrian.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, M. Kenneth Long Jr. of Hagerstown; and two nieces.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service on Monday.

Earl L. Souders
PASADENA, Md. - Earl L. Souders, 90, of Pasadena, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at North Arundel Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1907, in Hagerstown.
He was employed as an electrician for the Naval Engineering Experimental Station in Annapolis, Md., for 19 years, retiring in 1967.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1925 to 1929.
He was a member of Granite Baptist Church.
He enjoyed puzzles and game shows.
He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Thelma M. Brown Souders; and three sisters, Dorothy Souders, Lorraine Shepherd and Naomi Ensminger, all of Hagerstown.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Granite Baptist Church. The Rev. Wayne D. Mullen will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park.

Ronald L. Kindle Sr.
CASCADE - Ronald L. Kindle Sr., 57, of 24709 Oak Ave., died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.
Born July 13, 1940, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Edith E. Ott Kindle of Cascade and the late Charles L. Kindle.
He spent his early years in Smithsburg.
His wife, Deanna V. Hurley Kindle, died in 1986. They were married Dec. 15, 1960.
He was first employed by Sam L. Lanes Fruit Farm in Edgemont. He later worked for Gettysburg Shoe Factory and was employed as a mechanic for the past 37 years with ISP Mineral Inc. in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., at the time of his death.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Debra K. Keller of Waynesboro; a son, Ronald L. Kindle Jr. of Cascade; a sister, Shirley J. Stottlemyer of Sabillasville, Md.; a brother, Clyde E. Kindle of Emmitsburg; a companion of the past eight years, Jeannette Mills of Waynesboro; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Jeffrey M. Tallman
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Jeffrey Michael Tallman, 41, of Ann Arbor, died Friday, April 10, 1998.
Born in Hagerstown, he was the son of Jean Prather Tallman of Severna Park.
He attended Washington County public schools, graduated from Severna Park High School in 1975 and attended Anne Arundel Community College.
He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Pomeroy of Willis, Mich.; and two brothers, Alfred Tallman of North East, Md. and Thomas Tallman of Vista, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Perry F. Prather.
A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, May 9, at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring.
There will be a prayer gathering for family members, friends and Al-Anon members in his memory at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fellowship Hall, Severna Park, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Hilda G. Milburn
BOONSBORO - Hilda Grace Milburn, 90, a resident of Reeders Memorial Nursing Home and formerly of 13865 Cresspond Road, Clear Spring, died Friday, May 1, 1998 at the nursing home.
Born Oct. 21, 1907, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Hunter and Clara Rebecca Weaver Shade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Artentis Milburn, in 1963.
She was employed as a cook at Bester Elementary School in Hagerstown. Before that she worked at Camp Misty Mount. She and her husband owned and operated Indian Springs Grocery Store.
She was a member of the Sharpsburg Bible Church and the AARP.
She is survived by three daughters, Gladys Workman of Clear Spring, and Rosalie Rhodes and Beverly Shifflett, both of Downsville; two sons, Ronald H. Milburn of Sharpsburg and Lester Milburn of Hagerstown; a stepson, Woodrow Milburn of Hagerstown; a sister, Margaret Wade of Roanoke, Va.; 30 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hilda Hayes; a son, Richard E. Milburn; a sister, Josephine Fravel; a brother, Lester Shade; five stepsons and a stepdaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Sharpsburg Bible Church in Sharpsburg. The Rev. Gene Renner will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Sunday.
Margaret L. Crider
Margaret L. Crider, 86, formerly of 628 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, died Friday, May 1, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born Feb. 2, 1912, in Chewsville, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Fannie M. Scadden Lohman.
Her husband, A. Roy Crider, died in 1969.
She worked at Fairchild Aircraft for 18 years before her retirement.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris E. Horst of Hagerstown; a son, William L. Colvin Sr. of Hagerstown; three sisters, Edna Shaffer of Cumberland, Md., and Marie Marconi and Clara Baker, both of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
