Mabel C. Largent
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Mabel Catherine Largent, 95, of Falling Waters, who died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, is survived by two sons, Paul S. Butts and Charles D. Largent, both of Falling Waters.
Mildred J. Reisner
UPLAND, Calif. - Mildred J. Reisner, 93, of Upland, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at her daughter's home.
She was a native of Hagerstown.
She was a saleswoman at Grace's.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Reisner Bracey; two grandchildren, Beth Bracey Partridge and Milton R. Bracey III; and two great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reisner Memorial Fund, Hagerstown Aviation Heritage Museum, 18434 Showalter Road, Ste. 5, Hagerstown, Md. 21742.

Norma J. Forbush
SEVERNA PARK, Md. - Norma Jean Plumer Forbush, 60, of Severna Park, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis.
Born Sept. 18, 1937, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Frances Doub Plummer.
She was a 1959 graduate of James Madison University.
She was a school teacher at Marley Junior High School for six years. She also taught at Wroxeter on the Severn for many years as a substitute.
She was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church.
She also was a member of the Panhellenic Club, Questers, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Chartwell Golf and Country Club.
She enjoyed antiques, playing golf and collecting dolls.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Forbush, whom she married in 1962; one daughter, Heather Forbush Hook of Baltimore; and one brother, Dr. Ralph W. Plummer of Morgantown, W.Va.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Severna Park United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Visitation will be held at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.
James E. Forsythe Jr.
WILLIAMSPORT - James Edward Forsythe Jr., 64, of 16729 Sterling Road, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 2, 1933, in Williamsport, he was the son of James Edward and Virgie Irene Clipp Forsythe Sr. of Williamsport.
He was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School.
He was employed by Morgan-Keller Construction Co. in Frederick, Md., retiring in 1990. He was previously employed by Washington County Roads Department.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Donna Butts Forsythe of Williamsport; two sons, Jeffrey D. Forsythe of Hagerstown and Steven D. Forsythe of Potomac, Md.; one sister, Jan I. Forsythe of Alexandria, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport. The Rev. James E. Swecker and the Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, with military graveside services conducted by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Roger O. Whitmore Sr.
CLEAR SPRING - Roger Owen Whitmore Sr., 60, of 11618 St. Paul Road, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at his home.
Born April 2, 1938, in Washington County, he was the son of Margaret Shank Whitmore of Hagerstown and the late Cyrus A. Whitmore.
He attended Bible Brethren Church, Hagerstown.
He was employed by Jamison Door Co. for 24 years, retiring in January.
He was an avid golfer.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Elsie Whitmore; one daughter, Sheri Whitmore of Hagerstown; one son, Roger C. Whitmore of Middletown, Md.; two stepdaughters, Sue Wolfe of Clear Spring and Debbie Myers of Kearneysville, W.Va.; two stepsons, Delbert L. Nicewarner of Hagerstown and Richard Nicewarner of Clear Spring; an adopted daughter, Shanon Culy of Green Briar, Ark.; five sisters, Shirley Vance, Vera Smith, Doris White and Jane Ebersole, all of Hagerstown, and Gloria Teach of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one brother, Earl Whitmore of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 14 stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; one adopted granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dean A. Whitmore; and one brother, Harold Whitmore.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor J. Paul Reno will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Joseph N. Kolb
Joseph Nicholas Kolb, 82, of 13901 Pontius Lane, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 2, 1915, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Alice Hastings Kolb.
His wife, Viola B. Hilditch Kolb, died in 1967.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Joanne V. Shank of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Penny D. Weagley and Spring R. Shank, both of Hagerstown; five grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph N. Kolb Jr.; and one daughter, Arlene Alice Rush.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Margaret L. Potts
Margaret Luciele Potts, 78, of 1749 Edgewood Hill Circle, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Clearview Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 12, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lela Grace Summers Potts.
She retired from Potomac Edison Co.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by four nephews, John Robert Potts Jr., William Allen Potts, and Thomas Repp Potts, all of Hagerstown, and Ragan Richard Potts.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
William P. Kees
William P. Kees, 74, of 13326 Fairgreen Circle, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at his home.
Born July 26, 1923, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William G. and O. Ruth Palmer Kees.
A retired engineer, he had worked for Bushey-Feight until 1995. He previously worked for Baker-Wibberly for 29 years.
He was a member of Fountain Head Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Peggy Kees; two daughters, Terre Patrick of Baltimore and Sally Chapman of Towson, Md.; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Griffin of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one stepson, H. M. Ridgley of Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Frances K. Hardesty of Great Falls, Mont.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
William H. Conn
William H. Conn, 86, of 300 Northern Ave., died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at the home of his grandson, William C. Rhodes, of Waldorf, Md.
Born July 13, 1912, in New York City, he was the son of the late William and Hannah Elevels Conn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion B. Tawny Conn, in February.
He was a retired railroad machinist and had worked at Washington Terminal, Washington D.C.
He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Helen Comeau of Suffield, Conn., Genevieve Rhodes of Waldorf, Md., and Michelle Meyers of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. James E. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 30 minutes prior to services.
Viola M. Lida
Viola M. Lida, 67, of 161 Summit Ave., died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 20, 1930, in Staunton, Va., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Marie Swortzel Courtney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Lida Sr., in 1985.
She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Temple, where she sang in the choir and helped in the nursery and toddler department.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary E. Collins of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three sons, David Lee Lida of Boonsboro, and Leroy Lida Jr. and Michael W. Lida, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Julia A. Shifflett of Waynesboro, Pa., and Cadelia Mason of Winchester, Va.; two brothers, James H. Courtney of Kearneysville, W.Va., and John W. Courtney of Santa Fe, Texas; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown. The Rev. Ed Hampton will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St.
