Noble Stull Sr.

FREDERICK, Md. - Noble Stull Sr., 84, formerly of 5609 Calvert Drive, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick.

Born March 28, 1914, in Mill Run, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob F. and Etta Florence Hawk Stull.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Zella Moser Stull, in 1994.

He was a retired employee of Wickes Lumber Co., Frederick.

He is survived by four sons, Wayne L. Stull, Ronald E. Stull, Noble Stull Jr. and Richard B. Stull, all of Frederick; one sister, Alverta Ream of Mill Run; 16 grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, Md. The Rev. Duanne L. Beck of Edgewood Church of God, Frederick, will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery, Middletown.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call anytime Tuesday.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, Md. 21702-1799.

Lawrence L. Packer III

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lawrence "Bill" LeRoy Packer III, 46, of 1121 N.W. 13th St., died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at his home.

Born Dec. 31, 1951, in Laurinburg, N.C., he was the son of Dr. Lawrence L. Packer Jr. of State Line, Pa., and the late Mary Jean Trembath Packer.

He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School and Washington University, St. Louis.

He was co-owner of Solutions Technologies Inc. in Boca Raton.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Jean C. Packer; one sister, Mary Brooks Scales of Crystal Lakes, Ill.; one aunt; one niece and one nephew.

Graveside services will be announced later.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Joseph A. True

HANCOCK - Joseph Allen True, 33, of Woodmont Road, died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 10, 1964, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Betty A. Boden Courtney and the stepson of Marion L. Courtney, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.

He was a machine operator for Rayloc of Hancock.

He was a member of Catalpa United Methodist Church, Hancock.

He was a member of Hancock Sportsmans Club.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by one son, Joseph Allen True II, at home; a twin brother, Jeffrey L. True of Hancock; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Snow of Hancock; and a number of aunts and uncles.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, Warfordsburg. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. today.

Memorial donations may be made to Trust for Jeffrey A. True II, in care of F&M Bank, 6 E. Main St., Hancock, Md. 21750.

John W. Gittings

John W. Gittings, 77, of 1370 Marshall St., formerly of South Street, Frederick, Md., died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 17, 1921, in Frederick, he was the son of the late John W. and Myrtle Moberly Gittings Sr.

He attended Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. The Rev. Leon R. Yoder will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.

Huston L. Reynard

Huston L. "Skinny" Reynard, 88, of 15802 Shinham Road, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Reeder's Memorial Home, Boonsboro.

Born Feb. 21, 1910, in White Post, Va., he was the son of the late Henry Lee and Alice Virginia Sheetz Reynard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Alice Reynard, in 1988.

He retired from Pangborn Corp. in 1974 after 35 years service.

He was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Phyllis J. Faith of Hagerstown; five sons, Jack L. Reynard, Charles L. Reynard and Earl G. Reynard, all of Hagerstown, Robert H. Reynard of Leesburg, Va., and Donald E. Reynard of Woodbridge, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Edward Reynard; and several sisters and brothers.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St. The Rev. Harold P. Atkins will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Grover W. Palmer

Grover Woodrow Palmer, 79, of 619 Chestnut St., died Friday, May 8, 1998, at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Va.

Born Aug. 10, 1918, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Edith Rae Grimes Palmer.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys V. Palmer, in 1993.

He retired in 1983 from Fairchild Republic Corp. after 41 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a gunner's mate aboard ship in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.

He was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, AMVETS Post 10 in Hagerstown, and Longmeadow Senior Citizen's Bowling League. His hobbies included woodworking and furniture building, and he was associated with the Pine Shop in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Marie Rohrer Palmer; two daughters, Shirley A. Hastings of Hagerstown and Beatrice V. Mills of Big Pool, Md.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Don Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. Military honors will be provided by Morris Frock American Legion Post, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bruce M. Clipp

HANCOCK - Bruce M. Clipp, 73, of Warfordsburg Road, died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at his home.

Born Nov. 11, 1924, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Jesse B. and Gertrude Drenner Clipp.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, W. Jean Long Clipp, in 1983 and his second wife, H. Vicki Vecchitto Day Clipp, in 1988.

His earliest employment was as a delivery driver for Coca-Cola, Hagerstown. He was a sales representative for Three Springs Fisheries in Buckeystown, Md., then for Schwab Clothing, Cumberland, Md. He owned and operated the National Restaurant in Hancock from 1963 until his retirement in 1992.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served as an aircraft radioman and gunner during World War II.

He was a member of Hancock United Methodist Church.

He was mayor of Hancock from 1975 to 1976, a member of Hancock Town Council from 1969 to 1972 and of Tri-county Council. He was a former member and past president of Hancock Rotary Club; past commander and life member of Webster B. Harrison Post 26, American Legion, Hancock; a member of Loyal Order of Moose 1483, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; Antietam Lodge 197 AF&AM, Keedysville; and Ali Ghan Temple AAONMS, Cumberland. He was a member of Down River Golf Club, Everett, Pa., and Cacapon Golf Club, Berkeley Springs.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara Bowers of Hancock; one son, Gary D. Clipp of Montgomery Village, Md.; two brothers, Richard Clipp of Frederick, Md., and Willis Clipp of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Lake, Hester Wright, Delores Butts, Marguerite Rayski and Freda Canfield; and three brothers, Silas Clipp, Jesse Clipp and Fred Clipp.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hancock United Methodist Church, 168 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. Graveside services will be conducted by Tri-State Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hancock Rescue Squad, 14734 Warfordsburg Road, Hancock, Md. 21750; or to Hancock United Methodist Church, 168 W. Main St., Hancock, Md. 21750.

Grover W. Palmer

Grover W. Palmer, 79, of 619 Chestnut St., Hagerstown, who died Friday, May 8, 1998, is survived by six great-grandchildren.

Harry T. Jacobs

STANARDSVILLE, Va. - Harry Thomas Jacobs, 80, of Stanardsville, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at a Stanardsville nursing home.

Born June 20, 1917, in Culpeper County, he was the son of the late Charles Leslie and Annie Taylor Hitt Jacobs.

He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sarah Rachel May Jacobs; three daughters, Sarah J. Browning of Charleston, W.Va., Annie Lee Jacobs of Charlottesville, Va., and Susie J. Salvagni of Hagerstown; two sisters, Katherine J. Beahm of Alexandria, Va., and Hazel Smith of Nokesville, Va.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Chapel in Quinque, Va. The Rev. Ray Deck will officiate. Burial will be in Warrenton (Va.) Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Greene County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 302, Stanardsville, Va. 22973.

Russell L. Green

Russell L. Green, 83, of the Fahrney-Keedy Home, and formerly of Richmond Terrace, died Monday, May 11, 1998, at the home.

Born June 1, 1914, in Beaver Creek, he was the son of the late Perry and Cora Harrison Green.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise V. Minnick Green, in 1968.

He was employed by Pangborn Corp. for 37 years.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served in World War II.

He was a member of American Legion Post 10, Boonsboro.

He is survived by his second wife, Josephine Newcomer Green; one daughter, Diana M. Shanholtz of Maugansville; one son, Wilbur L. Minnick of Hagerstown; three brothers, Harold Green of Funkstown, Arvine Green of Tucson, Ariz., and Paul Green of Mercersburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Iona Suman.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fahrney-Keedy Chapel, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, San Mar, Md.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg.
