Lena M. Stottlemyer

Lena May Stottlemyer, 83, of Colton Villa Nursing Home, and formerly of 35 S. Main St., Boonsboro, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 26, 1914, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Nellie Ashbaugh Beakley.

Her husband, Paul Albert Stottlemyer, died in 1952.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Stottlemyer and Albert Eugene Stottlemyer, both of Boonsboro; two grandchildren, Debbie Smith and Donald Stottlemyer Jr., both of Boonsboro; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Boonsboro Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Downs will officiate.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Fred C. Faulhaber

Fred C. Faulhaber, 66, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Naples, Fla., died Thursday, May 21, 1998, at his home.

He was born May 10, 1932, in Emsworth, Pa.

He retired from Sprint Telephone in Naples.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Faulhaber; two daughters; one son; one granddaughter; and three sisters.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

Denzil M. Exline

BOONSBORO - Denzil Mansil "Buck" Exline, 65, of 18502 Lappans Road, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at his home.

Born July 26, 1932, in Grafton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arthur Dequoy and Willa LaRue Canfield Exline.

He was employed at Mack Trucks Inc., retiring in 1987.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.

He was a charter member of Battlefield Bible Church, Fairplay.

He also was a member of American Legion Post 202 in Williamsport, W.D. Byron Post 1936 VFW in Hagerstown and UAW Local 171 of Hagerstown.

He crafted violins and dulcimers.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie M. Stevens of Boonsboro; three daughters, Linda LaRue Routzahn and Lana Leigh Millers, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Lori Lynnette Exline of Hagerstown; one son, Robert Keith Exline of Hagerstown; five sisters, Wilda Juanita Exline, Vonda June Stutler and Wyoma Maxine Gerkin, all of Grafton, W.Va., Wanda Jo Stutler of Cumberland, Md., and Idesta LaRue Exline of Hagerstown; five brothers, Charles Richard Exline of Grafton, David Lewis Exline, Bernard Neal Exline and Thomas Keal Exline, all of Sharpsburg, and Scott Arthur Exline of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Willard Lee Exline, Lawrence Odell Exline, E.D. Exline and Darl Ekis Exline.

Private graveside services were held Friday at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, at 11 a.m. with the Rev Paul G. Hawbaker officiating. Military honors were provided by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Arrangements were by Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.

Clifton R. Sheetz

Clifton Robert Sheetz, 85, of 12130 Walnut Point Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Ravenwood Nursing Home.

Born July 16, 1912, in Woodstock, Va., he was the son of the late Kenton A. and Clara Esther Shipe.

He retired from Thomas Blickenstaff Contractors, and was previously employed by Grabell's Manufacturing Co., Woodstock, Va.

He was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and Square Men's Bible Class.

He is survived by his wife, Mettie Olive Sheetz; one daughter, Juana Guessford of Hagerstown; two sisters, Imma Jean Martin and Cora E. Sweeney, both of Woodstock; one brother, George Sheetz of Akron, Ind.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Sweeney; and one brother, Everett Sheetz.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Washington Square United Methodist Church. The Rev. Harold P. Atkins will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.; and one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Goldie Irene Moore

Goldie Irene Moore, 87, of 12215 Delwood Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 21, 1998, at her home.

Born July 26, 1910, in Beaver Creek, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Florence Poffenberger Clark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Moore, in 1992.

She was employed with Smith, Elliott and Kearns for 45 years, retiring in 1992. She was a bookkeeper and a notary public. Prior to that she was employed at Elvin Unger Accounting, Charles Carter Accounting and Mitchell Fockler Accounting.

She was a member of Christ Reformed Church and had been a church organist and Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by three nieces, Geraldine Crilley of Hagerstown, Mildred Shank of Boonsboro and Genevieve Crilley of Texas; and four nephews, Harold Clark, James Clark, Robert Clark and George R. Smith, all of Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary E. Kennedy; and three brothers, Lloyd F. Clark, Clyde L. Clark and Charles F. Clark.

Funeral services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James C. St. Clair

James Clarence "Pedro" St. Clair, 71, of 1420 Salem Ave., extended, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 21, 1927, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clarence O. and Charlotte F. Wolfe St. Clair.

He retired from Pangborn Corp. after 38 years of service.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Faith Temple in Cearfoss.

He also was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Faye St. Clair; three daughters, Dixie L. Koser of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Debra E. Foster and Sherry U. Shoop, both of Hagerstown; two sons, Gary L. St. Clair of Hagerstown and Jim R. St. Clair of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Lynda Patton of Tulsa, Okla., and Freda Staley of Chambersburg; three brothers, Rudolph V. St. Clair and Robert St. Clair, both of Hagerstown, and Calvin "Sonny" Wolfe of Baltimore; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Sampsell and Kathleen Bowman; and a brother, Leonard St. Clair.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple, 14015 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown. The Revs. Ronald Lynch and Tom Stottlemyer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday; and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Evelyn M. Baker

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Evelyn Myrtle Baker, 83, of 915 Bedford St., died Monday, May 18, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland.

Born Aug. 17, 1914, in Hooversville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Roy Earl Clark Sr. and Nellie Brown Clark.

Her husband, Calvin Clinton Baker, died in 1994.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cumberland.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell James Baker and Calvin Robert Baker, both of Cumberland; a daughter, Patricia Diane Spies of Maugansville; a sister, Darlene Clark of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; two brothers, Robert Clark of Hollidaysburg and John Clark of Pampa, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Earl Clark Jr.

Services were held Thursday, May 21, at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home in Cumberland. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Bart J. Wingerd

Bart Jason Wingerd, 27, of 1034 Mount Aetna Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 23, 1998, in Marlowe, W.Va.

Born Dec. 23, 1970, in Hagerstown, he was the son of John Edward Wingerd of Fairplay and Sara E. Wingerd of Hagerstown.

He was a 1988 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and attended Elon College in Elon, N.C.

He was employed by Hagerstown Housing Authority Security Division.

He was a student at Hagerstown Junior College.

He had served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Alec Mackenzie Wingerd of Hagerstown; a brother, Ryan J. Wingerd of Hagerstown; maternal grandmother, Sara M. Keasey of Hagerstown; paternal grandmother, Vivian Carter of Hagerstown; and a special friend, Kimberley M. Fisher of Hagerstown.

Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kauffman Fund, c/o Alec Wingerd, 13035 Gordon Circle, Hagerstown, Md. 21742.

Clifton R. Sheetz

Clifton Robert Sheetz, 85, of 12130 Walnut Point Road, Hagerstown, who died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Ravenwood Nursing Home, was the son of the late Kenton A. and Clara Esther Shipe Sheetz.
