Ferando E. Broadus
Ferando E. Broadus, 1-day-old, of 222 N. Jonathan St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born June 3, 1998, he was the son of Ferando E. and Maranda C. Lewis Broadus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother, Fhaze E. Broadus; maternal grandmother, Mary Lewis of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather, Todd Beck of Hagerstown; maternal great-grandparents, Joseph M. and Ruby Henderson of Hagerstown; paternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Smith of Hagerstown; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Martha Faulkner of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Margaret Broadus Jones and Dennis Scott Sr.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Rose Ann Duckett will officiate.
Arrangements are by Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
Gladys V. Mahone
Gladys Viola Mahone, 93, formerly of 121 Winter St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Avalon Manor.
Born Nov. 11, 1904, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Cora May Baker Renner.
Her husband, James F. Mahone, preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one son, William Mahone of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James R. Mahone; two sisters, Ruth Renner and Nettie Turner; and one brother, Harry Renner.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Victor Zuck will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Floyd M. Reeder
ADAMSTOWN, Md. - Floyd Martin Reeder, 90, of Adamstown, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born March 11, 1908, near Bolivar, Md., he was the son of the late Lorenzo Martin and Bessie Mae Sigler Reeder.
His wife, Mary Marcelene Beachley Reeder, died Jan. 28.
He retired from Maryland state roads, where he worked in the sign department.
He was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Burkittsville, Md.
He also was a member of Maryland Trappers Association.
He is survived by two sons, Sherman B. Reeder of Jefferson, Md., and R. Marlin Reeder of Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Janet Otto of Benevola, Md., and Mary Schiffler of Boonsboro; one brother, Charles Reeder of McConnellsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Burkittsville. Pastor Teri E. Greiser will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, Md., today from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime today. Friends also may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.
Laura A. Wilson
Laura Augusta Wilson, 84, of 24 Broadway, Hagerstown, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 17, 1913, in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Aurra and Margaret McAllister Dickinson.
Her husband, Raymond J. Wilson, preceded her in death.
She previously was employed by National Musical String Co. in North Brunswick, N.J.
She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura Jane Shank of Hagerstown; three granddaughters, Lori A. Tedrick and Jeanette L. Shank, both of Hagerstown, and Lisa A. Ambrose of Corbin, Va.; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae Neyranowski, Elizabeth Uhl and Margaret Dickinson.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard W. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Jane Baker
BOONSBORO - Jane Baker, 68, of 21027 Park Hall Road, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at her home.
Born Dec. 31, 1929, in Myersville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Enos S. and Carrie Naille Routzahn.
She retired from Airpax Protector Group of Frederick, Md.
She is survived by her husband, Howard E. Baker Jr.; a son, Howard E. Baker III of Boonsboro; two sisters, LuJenia Keilholtz and Dorothea Winpegler, both of Florida; and a brother, Bradley J. Routzahn of Hagerstown.
Services and burial will be private.
Ollie M. Shugars
LOVETTSVILLE, Va. - Ollie Mae Lucas Shugars, 81, of Lovettsville, and a resident of Thompson's Home Care Facility in Boonsboro, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in Boonsboro.
Born Aug. 12, 1916, in Stanley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Vinda Burns Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Admiral Shugars, whom she married Dec. 14, 1939.
She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.
She was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Women's Society.
She was a member of Lovettsville Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by three sisters, Lurene Saunders of Leesburg, Va., and Beulah Derflinger and Anna Wigington of Brunswick, Md.; one brother, Everett Lucas of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three granddaughters; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Shugars Fleming; a son, Wayne Adrian Shugars; three sisters, Pearl Wenner, Geneva Crowl and Jean Baker; and a brother, Elmer L. Lucas.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. Pastor Christine Suerdieck will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick.

Ronald L. Sanders
Ronald Lee Sanders, 60, of 11600 Peacock Trail, Hagerstown, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at his home.
Born Dec. 30, 1937, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Gilbert and Alice Pearl Beale Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arnette Craig Thomas Sanders, in 1987.
He was a 1955 graduate of Keyser High School. He attended Potomac State College, Keyser, W.Va.; and Art Institiute of Pittsburgh.
He was employed as an artist by The Herald-Mail Co. for more than 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a member of Gold Wing Riders Association and was a troop leader for Boys Scouts of America, Hagerstown.
He is survived by two sons, David Gilbert Sanders of Hagerstown and Daniel Craig Sanders of Funkstown; and a brother, Gilbert Sanders of State College, Pa.
Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Albert L. Leaf Chapel of Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. Norman Lindsay will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

John M. Teahan
John Michael Teahan, 62, of Hagerstown, died Monday, June 8, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1936, in New York City, he was the son of the late John James and Julia Hassett Teahan.
He was a graduate of Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y., and received his master's degree from Columbia University, New York.
He was employed by Fairmont State College, Fairmont, W.Va., as an associate professor of language and literature. He was involved with theater productions at the college.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
He was a member of the Newman Center, Fairmont State College.
He was a published essayist and poet.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Murphy Teahan; two daughters, Mimi Teahan of Baltimore and Julie M. Teahan of San Francisco; one son, John W. Teahan of Baltimore; and two sisters, Sister Margaret Teahan and Joan Teahan Briody, both of Rockaway Beach, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Teahan Greene; and one brother, Teddy Teahan.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Newman Center, Fairmont State College, Locust Avenue, Fairmont. The Rev. Jude Molnar will officiate.
An additional memorial service will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairmont State College Foundation, John M. Teahan Scholarship Fund, Locust Avenue, Fairmont, W.Va. 26554.
