David G. Drawbaugh Jr.

David George Drawbaugh Jr., 77, of 1117 Haven Road, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late David George Drawbaugh Sr. and Gail Patterson Drawbaugh.

He was a 1941 graduate of University of Maryland.

He was a veteran of World War II and served as captain in the Chemical Warfare Service. He taught Armored School, Fort Knox, Ky., and the Chemical Warfare School Arsenal in Edgewood, Md.

He was formerly employed by Western Maryland Railway as engineer of tests. He was co-owner of Hagerstown Business College, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of Haven Lutheran Church.

He was a member of BPOE Lodge 378, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, Eagles Club Inc., Waynesboro, Pa., and AARP.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Hajek Drawbaugh; two sons, David George Drawbaugh III of Williamsport and Dr. Edward J. Drawbaugh of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth A. Williar.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Torben Aarsand will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to the service.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21742.

Billie J. Renner

SMITHSBURG - Billie Jean Renner, 64, of 22918 Berry Circle, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at her home.

Born Dec. 8, 1933, in Eolia, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Ora Caudill Caudill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kimberly Renner, in 1983.

She was employed by the Hampton Inn in Hagerstown as a front desk clerk.

She was a member of Linwood Church of the Brethren in Linwood, Md.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Hagerstown.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra L. Miller of Mansfield, Ohio, Sharon Elaine Fraley of Smithsburg and Shelia Kimberly Powell of Hancock; two sisters, Oma Jo Bach of Greenwood, Ind., and Sidney Moser of Thurmont, Md.; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Robert E. Dailey and Son Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Thurmont. The Rev. Patrick Malone and Pastor Ronald Miller Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Md.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., where friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m.

Helen H. Bugosh

Helen Hannah Bugosh, 84, of 151 Buttercup Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of Arlington, Va., died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 15, 1913, in Gadsten, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Krupa Hreha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Emil Bugosh, in 1973.

She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Arlington, Va.

She is survived by one son, Robert Merritt Bugosh of Williamsport; one sister, Mary Hreha of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; one brother, Andrew Hreha of Monticello, Ind.; and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Columbia Gardens, Arlington. The Rev. Scott Ickert will officiate.

Visitation will be at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Alice I. Johnson

SMITHSBURG - Alice I. Johnson, 84, of Jefferson Boulevard, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 22, 1913, in Dixon, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Earl B. and Bessie Mae Schultz Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Johnson, in 1977.

She was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church, Sabillasville, Md.

She was a member of Smithsburg Sunshine Leisure Club, Waynesboro AARP and Helped in Share.

She is survived by three daughters, June P. Harshman of Smithsburg, Ruth L. Bumbaugh of Sabillasville and Betty M. Buhrman of Leitersburg; two brothers, Melvin Rau of Gettysburg, Pa., and Lloyd Rau of Biglerville, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Rau.

She was raised as a child by Ira and Martha Marker of Leitersburg.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. Tony Hardcastle and the Rev. Art Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Deerfield United Methodist Church, Youth Ministry, 16405 Foxville-Deerfield Road, Sabillasville, Md. 21780.

Margaret M. Eyler

Margaret M. Eyler, 95, a resident of Avalon Manor and formerly of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 4, 1903, in Edgemont, she was the daughter of the late Theodore C. and Rosie Pryor Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Eyler, in 1968.

She was a member of First Christian Church and the former Updegraff Sunday School Class.

She is survived by one daughter, Elaine M. Eyler of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by one son, Donald E. Eyler; two sisters, Alta Bowman and Goldie Bowman; and one brother, Elmer Bowman.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday 30 minutes prior to the service.

Edna M. Rowe

CLEAR SPRING - Edna Marie Rowe, 58, of 13823 Blairsvalley Road, who died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, is survived by two nephews, whom she raised, Robert Harper of Bunnlevel, N.C., and Curtis Wayne Snickenberger of Fort Stewart, Ga.

Alica L. Moore

Alica Lanae Moore, 11 days old, of 457 Park Place, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 1, 1998, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Luciana Dean of Hagerstown and Andre Moore of Fort Pierce, Fla.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Akelah Moore and Aneka Moore, both at home; one brother, Mario Brown Moore of Fort Pierce; maternal grandmother, Linda Green of Hagerstown; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Agnes Moore of Fort Pierce; maternal great-grandmother, Edna Green of Hagerstown; and paternal great-grandparents, Ora Taylor and Lee Esther McCoy, both of Fort Pierce.

Private graveside services will be held today at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. The Rev. Haru Carter Jr. will officiate.

Arrangements are by Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Anna L.R. Bowers

Anna L. Rice Bowers, 98, of Avalon Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown, and formerly of 1495 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at the nursing home.

Born Jan. 25, 1900, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Peter H. and Elizabeth V. Shank Rice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Bowers, in 1971.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Hagerstown.

She is survived by three sisters, Mildred Johnston, Goldie Elliott and Naomi Rice, all of Chambersburg, Pa.; four brothers, Harvey Rice of Waynesboro, Pa., Otho Rice and Melvin Rice, both of Chambersburg, and Preston Rice of Swoope, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Burkholder, Minnie Pittman, Pearl Hoffman and Edith Duffey; and three brothers, Irvin Rice, Walter Rice and Clifford Rice.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Kristina A. McLucas

CLEAR SPRING - Kristina A. McLucas, 19, of 11906 Boyd Road, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.

Born July 23, 1979, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Deborah A. Morris McLucas of Marshall, Va., and her parents David W. McLucas and Peggy A. Burger of Clear Spring.

She was a 1998 graduate of Clear Spring High School. She had been accepted for the fall term at Hagerstown Community College as a nursing student.

She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Michael W. McLucas of Marshall; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Morris of Hagerstown and Mary Urick of Hagerstown; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Ora Belle McLucas of Hagerstown.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship. The Rev. Leon Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Samuel R. Trundle Jr.

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Samuel Rion Trundle Jr., 87, of 821 Second Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 2, 1911, in Bakerton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Samuel Rion Trundle Sr. and Carrie Burns Trundle.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Ione Trundle, in 1969.

He retired from The National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, Charles Town, W.Va.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Calloway Trundle; two sons, George Rion Trundle of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Donald E. Trundle of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; three stepdaughters, Cathy Lynn Hoffman of Frederick, Alanta Wachter of Louisiana and Lana Lamp of Shepherdstown; one stepson, Richard Louis Hoffman III of Frederick; one sister, Dorothy Trundle Kyle of Wilmington, Del.; one brother, George Burns Trundle of Frederick; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The Rev. Daniel T. Spiker will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
