Edward T. Kowall, 72, of Finksburg
Edward Thomas Kowall, 72, of Finksburg, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown.
Born Nov. 7, 1930, in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Kowall and Jenny Lazaruk Kowall. He was the husband of Fern E. Kowall, his wife of 48 years.
He was a retired sergeant from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department. Prior to that, he was a truck and dairy farmer.
He was a member of the Mason's Lodge in Westminster, and a life member of North Carroll Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of St. Andrew's Russian Orthodox Church.
He was an active hunter, fisherman, gardener and trapshooter.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter-in-law, Jesse Thomas Kowall and Judith E. Kowall of Westminster; sisters Olga Bylen of Westminster and Annie Foultz of South Carolina; a brother, Constantine Kowall of Long Island, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Kayla Kowall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Frederick Eckhardt officiating.

Stanley E. Miller Sr., 61, of Westminster, died Tuesday evening, April 8, 2003, at his home.
Born Sept. 3, 1941, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Milton W. and Mary Stonesifer Miller. He was the husband of Barbara Norris Miller, his wife of 26 years.
He was employed with Bowman Feed of Westminster, and in later years at the Carroll County Roads Department.
He was a member of the Littlestown Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Stanley E. Miller Jr. of Manchester and Wesley A. Miller of Westminster; a daughter, Cindy J. Osborne of Westminster; brothers Sterling, Junior and Earl Miller, all of Westminster; sisters Virginia Shorb and Alta Cotingame, both of Westminster, and Arlene Lippy of Taneytown; and three grandchildren.
Brothers James, Truman and Kenneth Miller predeceased him.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, Pa., with the Rev. Ira B. Barr, of Bixler's United Methodist Church, Westminster, officiating. Interment will be in Bixler's UMC cemetery, Westminster.

John W. Murray, 88, formerly of Hampstead, and Sun City, Ariz., died Friday, April 4, 2003, in Annandale, Va.
A memorial service was held April 8 at Franconia Methodist Church.
Evelyn A. Tyler, 101, of Westminster
Evelyn Ann Tyler, 101, of Westminster, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the Westminster Nursing and Convalescent Center.
Born Dec. 25, 1901, in England, she was the daughter of the late George and Elisa Yemm. She was the wife of Thomas Ernest Tyler, who died in 1974.
She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are sons Thomas Gilbert Tyler of Woodbine and John Lesley Tyler of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A graveside service will be held at noon Friday at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
The Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, is handling funeral arrangements.

Ann-Margaret "Ann" Wickline, 39, of Hampstead, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Great Bridge, Va.
Born Sept. 20, 1963, in Orlando, Fla., she was the daughter of Philip W. Harris and Peggy Lou Nicewonder Harris. She was the wife of Robert B. Wickline.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are sons Phillip David and Edward Bliss Wickline, both of Hampstead; a brother, Robert Harris of Portsmouth, Va.; sisters Lisa Dooley of Upperco, Donna Conniful of Miami, Fla., and Kathy Shields of Georgia; and granddaughters Natalie Ann Wickline of Upperco and Deminica Adeline Wickline of Spring Grove, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery, Reisterstown.

Born April 17, 1979, in Green Bay, Wis., he was the son of Russell Brown of Hagerstown and Jean F. Brown of Perry Hall.
He was a parts department manager.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are grandmothers Ann Brown of Mount Airy and Anna M. Williams of Baltimore.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Leonard J. Ruck Funeral Home, 5305 Harford Road, Baltimore, with his uncle, the Rev. Addison Hart, officiating.

Antoinette Marie Coshun, 48, of Spring Grove, Pa., died Monday, April 7, 2003, at her home.
Born April 5, 1955, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Beatrice Flemming Markle.
She was a housewife.
Surviving are children Carey Brenneman, J. Derick Coshun, Ariel and Stephen Coshun, all of Taneytown; sisters Nancy Flickinger and Jackie Hartland, both of Westminster; brothers Daniel Markle of Reading, Pa., and Fred, Larry and Tim. Markle, all of Taneytown; grandchild Britlyn McCabe of Taneytown; and fiance John Crouse of Spring Grove, Pa.
She was predeceased by brother Ronnie Markle.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Piney Creek Presbyterian Church, 4472 Harney Road, Taneytown. Interment will be private.

Guy L. King, 90, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Westminster, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 in Tampa, Fla.
Born June 10, 1912, in Waxhaw, N.C., he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Sarah M. King. He was the husband of the late Bertha S. King, his wife of 43 years.
He had been a business owner in the Baltimore and Carroll County area for more than 50 years.
Surviving are children Gary King of Tampa, Fla., Alvin Schaffer of Westminster, Brenda Munford of Keymar, Connie Williams of New Windsor, Mary Allen of Tampa, Fla., and Cindy Frederick of Westminster; sister Fannie Pharr of Kannapolis, N.C.; nephew Rufus King of Kannapolis, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by son Samuel King; one brother; and five sisters.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Gladys Irene Parker, 90, of Reisterstown, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at FutureCare-Cherrywood after an extended illness.
Funeral services and interment will be private.

Walter B. 'Walt' Rugemer Sr., 70, of Westminster
Walter Brooks "Walt" Rugemer Sr., 70, of Westminster, died Thursday morning, April 10, 2003, at his residence after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Sykesville, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mabel Beall Rugemer. He was the husband of Paula A. Rugemer, his wife of 35 years.
He had served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Before retiring, he was a licensed practical nurse for 35 years.
He was a member of Westminster Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1381.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Walter "Brooks" Jr. and Ellen Rugemer of Manchester; daughters and sons-in-laws Tonya and Jack Mizzell of Reisterstown, Vicki and Lance Beasman of Baltimore, and Karen and Tom Sisler of Westminster; sisters Ruth Ann Harrison of Pensacola, Fla., and Rosalee Mathis of Greer, S.C.; mother-in-law Annabel H. Doukas of Westminster; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Tonja Doukas of Marston; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with the Rev. Julie Singer, of Krider's United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. by the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1381.

Jacob S. Young, 82, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Northampton Manor Health Care in Frederick.
Born Dec. 19, 1920, in Mount Airy, he was the son of the late Herman H. and Eva Schneider Young.
He was employed by Mullinix Grain and Fertilizer Co. in Woodbine. He was a lifelong member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mount Airy. He served as an usher at the church for many years.
Surviving are siblings Sara Louise Selby and Fannie Anderson, both of Mount Airy; nieces and nephews Jean Pickett of Mount Airy and Larry and Fred Anderson, both of Monrovia; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 13356 Glissans Mill Road, Mount Airy, with the Rev. Wallace "Bud" Lusk, of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Church of the Brethren cemetery, Mount Airy.
