A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

80, of Linthicum

Robert G. Formwalt Sr., 80, of Linthicum, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Brightview Assisted Living in Catonsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Neri Church in Linthicum.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 237 E. Patapsco Ave., Baltimore.

Jerry L. Goodnow, 58, of Finksburg

Jerry L. Goodnow, 58, of Finksburg, died early Monday morning, Oct. 27, 2003, at his home.

Born July 6, 1945, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Robert C. Goodnow Sr. and Avis Katherine Bennett Goodnow.

Before his illness, he had worked in construction, primarily with roofing and siding.

Surviving are longtime companion Donna K. Hawes; children Jerry L. Goodnow Jr. of Arbutus, Cindy L. Phillips of Dundalk, Dawn M. Holdon of Arbutus, C. Simon Hawes of Glen Burnie, Rachael R. Channels of Finksburg, Naomi R. Hawes of Tyro, Va., and Joshua M. Hawes of Brooklyn; brothers Robert C. Goodnow Jr. and Stephen D. Goodnow of Grafton, W.Va.; sisters Betty L. Hanes, Francis L. Ruth, Marsha R. Baran and Rosalind E. Riley, all of Baltimore, Kaye S. Wolfe Sigley of Grafton, W.Va., Sharon A. Hallisey of Orlando, Fla., and Ava M. Shipley of Old Fort, N.C.; godparents Jack Marsh and Beatrice L. Bennett Marsh of Pleasant Creek, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Interment will be in Meadow Branch cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Isabel E. Kindig, 80, of Littlestown, Pa.

Isabel E. Kindig, 80, of Littlestown, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Hanover Hospital, Hanover, Pa.

Born Nov. 5, 1922, in Lineboro, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Cora M. Wise Cramer.

She was a graduate of Manchester High School and completed one year of beauty school at Georgia Boyd of Baltimore.

She was a self-employed hairdresser.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Littlestown, Pa.

Surviving are son G. David Kindig of Ruther Glen, Va.; twin sons John R. Kindig of Hanover, Pa., and James D. Kindig of Littlestown, Pa.; daughter Shari Ann Catanzaro of Sellersville, Pa; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers Ralph E. Cramer and J. Veral Cramer.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, Pa., with the Rev. Gerhard H.W. Roggenkamp officiating. Interment will be in Windsor cemetery, Windsor, Pa.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Helen Roche, 89, of Westminster

Helen Roche, 89, of Westminster, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003 at her home following an extended illness.

Born in 1914 in Larksville, Pa., she came to Westminster in 1981. She was the wife of the late John Roche.

She enjoyed current events and sewing.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Ira Domser of Westminster, Kathy and Bill Heinrich of Ashville, N.C., and Mary Roche of New Jersey; grandchildren Cassie and Emma Domser of Westminster, Karl and Garrett Heinrich of North Carolina, and Kathy and Bill Heinrich of Georgia; and one great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by daughter Helen Kaiser.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, Linden, N.J.

Ruth M. Shaver, 79, of Sykesville

Ruth May Shaver, 79, of Sykesville, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Continuum Care at Sykesville.

Born May 25, 1924, in Lincoln, Neb., she was the wife of the late Wilson Glenn Shaver, whom she married in 1943.

She had been a clerk and typist with the state of Maryland.

She had been a seamstress.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Matt and Joan Shaver of Sykesville; sister Joan Fiala of Roswell, N.M.; and grandchildren Kristina Ann, Matthew Glenn and Timothy Robert Shaver.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. today at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be in Mount Comfort cemetery, Alexandria, Va.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.

Dorothy G. Harper, 88, of Manchester

Dorothy G. Harper, 88, of LongView Nursing Home, Manchester, formerly of Greenmount, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Montgomery General Hospital.

Born Sept. 3, 1915, in Millers, she was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Naoma Cramer Graf. She was the wife of Paul Harper, who died Aug. 16, 1996, and whom she married June 30, 1940.

She was a graduate of Manchester High School.

She was a retired seamstress for the State of Maryland and retired from the Mount Wilson Center in 1977. She had also worked in the Manchester Sewing Factory.

She was a 50 year member of Triple Valley Homemakers Club, where she served as president, vice president and secretary. She was also a member of AARP Chapter 662, a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, and she was the oldest member of the Cramer Runk reunion, which held its 70th reunion in Aug. 2003.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law P. Douglas and Darlene Harper of Rockville; brother Alton L. "Bud" Graf of Millers; grandchildren Eric and Alison Harper; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brother Lawrence E. Graf; and sister Glenice G. Jubb.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Dr., Manchester, with her pastors, the Revs. Matthew and Norma Schenning officiating. Interment will be in the New Lutheran cemetery in Manchester.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

Nancy A. Thompson, 72, formerly of Manchester

Nancy Alice Thompson, 72, of Edgewood, formerly of Manchester, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Stella Maris Hospice.

She was the wife of the late Donald Thompson.

Surviving are sons Noel Fritz Platzke Jr., Robert M. Caldwell Jr. and Richard M. Caldwell; daughter Linda Y. Harris; stepdaughter Victoria Thompson; sisters Irene Meenach, Lillian Magee and Monie Bentley; stepbrothers Scott Thompson and Randall Thompson; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son James W. Singletary Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at McComas Funeral Home, 1317 Cokesbury Road, Abingdon. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Sykesville.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The Rev. Gilbert J. Bartholomew, 89, of Wernersville, Pa. died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Phoebe Berks Village Auditorium, Reading Drive, Wernersville, Pa.

Henry B. Lewis, 90, of Sykesville

Henry Burton Lewis, 90, of Sykesville, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at his home.

Born Nov. 21, 1912, he was the son of the late Henry B. and Catherine Hahn Lewis. He was the husband of Dorothy E. Lewis of Sykesville.

He had worked as a District Manager for Avis Truck Rental.

He was a member of Wards Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Ronald W. Lewis of Sykesville; daughters Judith Anne Gordes of Baltimore; Gloria Jeanne Horn of Arnold; and Jacqueline Carole Amos of Glen Rock, Pa; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sister Helen Stickler.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Don Burgard of Wards Chapel United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Ward Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery, Randallstown.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.

E. Annabel Weddle, 86, of Keymar

Ellen Annabel Weddle, 86, of Keymar, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born July 31, 1917, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late William and Jennie Smith Horner. She was the wife of Paul P. Weddle, who died in 1989.

She was an active member of Oak Hill Church of God, Legore, where she served as a former Sunday school teacher, a deaconess and worked for many years with the children in Easter and Christmas pageants. She was also a member of the Ladies WCSC and the Woodsboro Food and Friends.

She dedicated her life to her family, her church and assisting elderly citizens. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and gardening.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Phyllis and John Hooper of Thurmont, Connie and John Staub of Woodsboro, Janice and Robert Foreman of Taneytown, Judy and David Study of Keymar, and Shawn and Bill Huff of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; son and daughter-in-law Gary W. and Sharon Weddle of Union Bridge; sister Mary Weddle of Keymar; 24 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Theresa White and husband Sterling of Emmitsburg.

She was predeceased by sons Larry P. Weddle in 1994 and infant Walter Lee Weddle in 1944; great- granddaughter, Cassie Cheyenne Weddle in 1996; sister Margie Eyler; and brothers Pete, Clyde, Leroy, James and Aubrey Horner and Charles Keeney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Church of God, Legore, with Rev. Mary Crampton, a former pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

Audry L. 'Sue' Beard, 72, of Frederick

Audry L. "Sue" Beard, 72, of Frederick, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 27, 1931, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Manie Clark.

She was educated in the Carroll County public school system. She was employed at Springfield Hospital Center and later retired from the Frederick County Department of Social Services.

She was a member of Thomas Tabernacle Holiness Church of God, Frederick. She enjoyed reading, her family and friends.

Surviving are daughters Jessica Garner of Westminster, Mary Drake of Baltimore, Edie Beard of Reisterstown, and Jay Whiteside of Libertytown; sons Adonis Clark of Frederick and Ronnie Beard of Martinsburg, W.Va.; stepson David Jones of San Mateo, Calif.; sister Edith Green of Westminster; adopted son Clyde Rollins of Frederick; friends Grace Patterson of Libertytown and Ida Brown of Frederick; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas Tabernacle Holiness Church of God, 517 S. Market St., Frederick with the Rev. Roger E. Rollins officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St., Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
