William R. Hopkin, 72, of Ellicott City

William Roger Hopkin, 72, of Ellicott City, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Howard County General Hospital, Columbia.

Born Jan. 16, 1931, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Walter Roger and Mary Agnes Adam Hopkin.

He was a self-employed Realtor.

Surviving are brother Charles Vincent Hopkin of Glenwood; and sister Mildred Josephine Restivo of Marriottsville.

He was predeceased by brother Jay Hopkin.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. Louis Catholic Church Chapel, Clarksville. Interment will be private.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

James J. Malcolm, 78, of Frankford, Del.

James Jamieson Malcolm, 78, of Frankford, Del., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, Del.

Born July 7, 1925, in Scotland, he was the son of the late Ulick and Helen Malcolm. He was the husband of Alice Malcolm of Frankford, Del.

He had been an estate manager.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Maureen Clas of St. Leonard, Dorothy M. Owings of Reisterstown and Susan R. Pleasanton of Frankford, Del.; son James J. Malcolm Jr. of Manchester; brother Ulick Malcolm of Columbia Station, Ohio; sisters Helen Milne of Port Republic and Mabel Dick of Manchester; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brother Peter Malcolm; and sister Dorothy Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, with the Rev. Norman J. Obenshain officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Dorothy E. Mason, 78, of Keymar

Dorothy Elizabeth Mason, 78, of Keymar, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare Center in Gettysburg, Pa.

Born June 1, 1925, in Rocky Ridge, she was the daughter of the late John Price and Virgie Keeper Price. She was the wife of Tom A. Mason.

She had worked as an assembler for McClarin Plastics Inc. in Hanover, Pa., for 26 years. After retiring there, she worked for Brookfield Manor Home for two years.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, is niece Anna Mae Snyder of Fallston.

She was predeceased by son Tom Cleveland Mason.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Gerald D. Fuss officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Taneytown.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.

Mary R. Miller, 94, of Littlestown, Pa.

Mary Rebecca Miller, 94, of Littlestown, Pa., formerly of Westminster, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Hanover Hospital in Hanover, Pa.

Born May 7, 1909, in Mayberry, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Florence J. Study Humbert. She was the wife of Arthur N. Miller, who died in 1976.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are close friends Jennings S. and Betty Martin of Littlestown, Pa., Jennings B. and Brenda Martin of Taneytown, and David S. and Sandy Martin of Littlestown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sons Harold and Murray Miller; and a brother.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Interment will be in Baust Church cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.

Edward W. Reed Sr., 82, of Sykesville

Edward W. Reed Sr., 82, of Sykesville, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at his home.

Born Feb. 5, 1921, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Edward Henry and Wilhemia S. Wollring Reed. He was the husband of the late Miriam Reed.

He served in the Navy as a Navy crew chief, repairing aircraft aboard the USS Langley.

He had been a jeweler for S&N Katz and had worked for 15 years as a salesman for Carnation Milk. He also worked for 18 years at Mangles-Herald Corp/King Syrup and for 10 years as a claims adjuster for the Social Security Administration.

He was a member of the Golden Dragons, the Ionic Masonic Lodge, Westminster American Legion, Westminster Moose Lodge 1381 and the Taneytown Eagles.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Edward W. II and Mary Reed of Westminster; grandchildren Katina Mulligan, Leo and Nicole Myers, Gregory M., Natalie M. and Dale A. Reed and Amy Martin; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel at Garrison Forest Veterans cemetery, Owings Mills. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Moose Heart, c/o Westminster Moose Lodge No. 1381.

Luella G. Trostle, 94, formerly of Waynesboro, Pa.

Luella Grace Gonder Trostle, 94, formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Monday morning, Dec. 15, 2003, at the Quincy United Methodist Home in Quincy, Pa.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Green Hill cemetery, Waynesboro, Pa., with the Rev. Prudence B. Yelinek officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa.

Reba E. 'Betsy' Corsa, of Gettysburg, Pa.

Reba Elizabeth "Betsy" Corsa, of Gettysburg, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Hanover Hospital in Hanover, Pa.

Born in Lancaster, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James Harold and Reba E. Ditzler Harbison. She was the wife of the Rev. Pinckney M. Corsa.

In her younger days, she played in a marimba band. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter Lucy Corsa Warner of Mercersburg, Pa.; son James Pinckney Corsa Sr. of Fairfield, Pa.; brother James Harbison of Lititz, Pa.; sister Dorothy Lesher of Millersville, Pa.; grandchildren Lisa Marie Corsa, James Pinckney Corsa Jr., Jeremy J. Corsa and Justin Nicolas Schenck.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, 20 W. High St., Gettysburg, Pa., with her pastor, the Rev. Andrew Sherman officiating. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, 20 W. High St., Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, are in charge of local arrangements.

Helen R. Haddaway, 103, of Eldersburg

Helen Rond Haddaway, 103, of Eldersburg, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at the home of her great-granddaughter.

Born June 13, 1900, in Bozman, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Addie C. Keithley McQuay. Twice married , she was the wife of the late George W. Rond Sr. and Mitchell Haddaway.

She worked during World War II as a metallurgist at the Coppers Co. in Baltimore. After the war, she was transferred to the Social Security Administration, where she worked until her retirement in 1970.

Surviving are daughter Frances W. Ironmonger of Eldersburg; son George W. Rond Jr. of Pasadena; brother J. Milton McQuay of Baltimore; sister Miriam Tyler of Easton; grandchildren Marilyn Arndt, Barbara Weinkam, Warren Ironmonger Jr., Melanie Singleton and David Rond; great-granddaughter and caregiver Dawn Merrill of Eldersburg; great-grandchildren Brian and Jason Arndt, Ann Dennis, Jennifer Ironmonger, Warren Ironmonger III, Lucas Ironmonger and Bradley Ironmonger; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brother J. Leroy McQuay; sisters Ruth Bridges and Eunice Mueller; and great-granddaughter Kimberly Weinkam.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Arthur Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Loudon Park cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leland A. 'Lee' Haugh, 43, of Westminster

Leland Amber "Lee" Haugh, 43, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at the Carroll Hospital Center, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born Oct. 16, 1960, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Charlotte Theobald Powell of Taneytown and the late William L. Powell. She was the wife of Stephen A. Haugh, her husband of 18 years.

She was a graduate of Catonsville Community College, Carroll County.

She was a consultant for Longaberger Baskets for many years. Prior to that, she was a teller for Westminster Bank and Trust.

Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are twin brother William Powell of Atlanta, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law Kimberly and Randy Warehime Sr. of Finksburg; brother and sister-in-law Jeffery and Angie Powell of Taneytown; half sister and brother-in-law Michelle and Michael Hayes of Corryton, Tenn.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Donna Haugh of Woodbine; nieces and nephews Jennifer and Brian Haugh of Woodbine, Gregory and Taylor Powell of Laurel, Sara Powell of Taneytown, Matthew and Randy Warehime Jr. of Finksburg and Dylan Hayes of Corryton, Tenn.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by infant sister Dora Powell; brother Bryan Powell; in-laws Earnest and Margaret Haugh; and grandparents Ralph and Virginia Powell, and Gustav and Marquett Theobald.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with Deacon Charles Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment is in Pine Grove cemetery in Mount Airy.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Grace V. Leeper, 82, of Eldersburg

Grace Veronica Boutelle Leeper, 82, of Eldersburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at her home following a short illness.

Born Oct. 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Raymond H. Boutelle and Dessie Emily Wordon. She was the wife of the late Bartram Leeper.

She was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Woodlawn and was treasurer and Woman of the Year 2001 of the United Methodist Woman Club. She was also a member of Board of Child Care and had a long and distinguished career at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore city as one of the first physical therapists at Raymond Curtis Hand Center.

Surviving are son Bartram Galbraith Leeper of Woodlawn; daughter Judith Grace Stromberg of Eldersburg; son-in-law Eric Leeper; grandchildren Shannon Gallagher and husband Christopher and Matthew O'Connell and wife Jessica, all of Eldersburg, David Leeper and wife Judith of Texas and Keith Stromberg and Mary Kate Stromberg of Eldersburg; great-grandson Graham Leeper; sisters and brother-in-law Patricia and Weston Shepard of Massachusetts and Susan White of North Carolina; and devoted friend Shirley Leeper.

She was predeceased by sister Nancy Soper; and brother William Boutelle.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2109 Gwynn Oak Ave., Woodlawn, with the Rev. Richard Goode officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Loring Byers Funeral Directors Inc., 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2109 Gwynn Oak Ave., Woodlawn, MD 21207.
