Marie M. "Bonnie" Otto, 60, of Reisterstown, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at her home.

Born June 2, 1943, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Marie M. Raver Brewer. She was the wife of Glenn E. Otto, her husband of 42 years.

She was a self-employed beautician.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Faith Abersano of Georgia, Steven Otto of Owings Mills and Holly Otto of Reisterstown; brother Frank Brewer of Maryland Line; six grandchildren; and one step grandchild.

She was predeceased by brother Donald Brewer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Renee Norwood officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8219 Town Center Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236.

Mary C. Preston, 82, of Reisterstown

Mary C. Preston, 82, of Reisterstown, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Northwest Hospital Medical Center, Randallstown.

Born May 15, 1921, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Smyth Schanberger. She was the wife of the late Emmart H. Preston.

She was a 1939 graduate of Seton High School.

She had been a legal secretary for law firms.

Surviving are sons William P. Preston of Westminster, Richard M. Preston of New Market and Robert E. Preston of Columbia; daughter Mary J. Trivette of Fallston; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son Charles A. Preston.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, Glyndon, with Monsignor Lloyd E. Aiken officiating. Interment will be in Baltimore National cemetery, Baltimore.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.

Ramona E. Rosier, 77, of Hampstead

Ramona E. Rosier, 77, of Hampstead, formerly of Parkton, died Thursday evening, Jan. 8, 2004, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson.

Born Nov. 17, 1926, in Woodlawn, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Ernie Widerman Duvall. She was the wife of the late John Paul "Whitey" Rosier.

She was employed for 24 years as a keypunch operator with the Baltimore County Police Department Headquarters office in Towson, retiring in November 1986.

She was a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 897, Westminster.

Surviving are daughter Sandra M. Morris of Ocean Pines; son William H. Zellman Jr. of Phoenix; grandchildren Stacey Bauer and Charles Morris Jr.; great-grandchildren Heather Bauer and Ethan Morris; and sister Dorcas Brooks of Baltimore.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, 24 Second St., New Freedom, Pa., with the Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Interment will be in New Freedom cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the mortuary.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 488 W. Market St., York, PA 17405.

Kathleen S. Wilhelm, 77, of Randallstown

Kathleen S. Wilhelm, 77, of Randallstown, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson.

Born July 2, 1926, in Duffield, Va., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Minnie Robinette Sturgille. She was the wife of Kenneth L. Wilhelm.

She had been a cafeteria worker for Baltimore County Public Schools.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters Jane S. Ramon of North Eastham Cape Cod, Mass., and Florence W. Bell of Naples, Fla.; brother Hillary Sturgille of Petersburg, Va.; and two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, with the Rev. James Edmonson of Elder Baptist Church, Sykesville, officiating. Interment will be in Druid Ridge cemetery, Pikesville.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Helen M. Yaeger, 86, of Reisterstown

Helen Mildred Yaeger, 86, of Reisterstown, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the funeral home.

Albert M. Benedict, 88, formerly of New Windsor

Albert McNair Benedict, 88, of Oxford, N.C., formerly of New Windsor, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Oxford Manor Nursing Center, Oxford, N.C.

Born June 15, 1915, in New Windsor, he was the son of the late Paul Grover and Jessie Lovell Benedict. He was the husband of Hazel Goodermuth Benedict, who died in 1997.

He was a 1932 graduate of Franklin High School, Reisterstown. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, serving in Japan with the Engineer Battalion.

He was formerly employed at The Ark Store in New Windsor; Congoleum-Nairn in Cedarhurst; and Thomas, Bennett and Hunter in Westminster. He retired from the Maryland State Department of Motor Vehicles in 1980. He moved from New Windsor to Oxford in January 1999 to live with his son.

He enjoyed golf, collecting antiques, attending estate sales, fishing, camping and telling stories.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Brian M. and Karen Benedict of Oxford, N.C.; son-in-law Melvin Bakner of Everett, Pa.; grandchildren Deborah, David, Paul, Samuel and Jennifer Benedict and Marty Bakner; and great- grandchildren Brittney, Jared, and Ashley Peterson, Devin Benedict, and Stephanie and Tim Bakner.

He was predeceased by daughter Sandra Bakner in 2001; grandson Timmy Bakner; and sisters Willie Benedict and Marie Stultz.

Interment services will be held in June at Winters cemetery, near New Windsor. Service times will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093-5142.

Arrangements are by Hartzler Funeral Home, New Windsor.

Ruby M. Dumire, 97, of Hampstead

Ruby Mae Dumire, 97, of Hampstead, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitative Center, Westminster.

Born Oct. 14, 1906, in Bluefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Benjamin F. and Sarah J. Roberts McIntire. She was the wife of the late Ralph F. Dumire.

She was a retired nurse from Cook Hospital in West Virginia.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hampstead, and the Maryland Boating Club.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and Curtis Bradley of Venice, Fla., and Betty J. and James Lehman of Upperco; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, with her nephew, the Rev. Donald Whiteman, officiating. Interment will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Linda M. Elliott, 55, of Westminster

Linda Marie Elliott, 55, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.

Born Oct. 25, 1948, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Jeanne Gougler Eckman of Catonsville and the late John Joseph Eckman. She was the wife of James Roy Elliott Sr.

She had been a registered nurse.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are son James R. Elliott Jr. of Gaithersburg; daughter Stephanie Marie Wilson of Hanover, Pa.; grandchild Elliott Bradford Wilson of Hanover, Pa.; and sister Joann Richelson of West Palm Beach, Fla.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Donald H. Hardesty, 80, of Mount Airy

Donald H. Hardesty, 80, of Mount Airy, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore.

Born June 23, 1923, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Dietz Hardesty. He was the husband of Jane S. Eaton Hardesty, his wife of 58 years.

He was an engineer with Westinghouse for 43 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191, Mount Airy and the Western Howard County Senior Center. He enjoyed woodcarving, camping and doing crossword puzzles.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Calvin Hafner of Taneytown, Terry and Michael Burch of Nashville, Tenn., Eileen and Dean Widerman of Sykesville and Patricia and Dennis Mohorovic of Dundalk; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Dolly Hardesty of Taylorsville; grandchildren Lindsay Hafner, Michael and Tom Hardesty, Matthew, Daniel, Leah and Sarah Jane Burch, Amber and Dennis Mohorovic; and great-granddaughter Kaylee Burch.

He was predeceased by brother Earl Hardesty; and sister Evelyn Warner.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy, with the Rev. Michael J. Ruane of St. Michael's Catholic Church at Poplar Springs officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mark D. Schultheis Sr., 50, of Manchester

Mark Douglas Schultheis Sr., 50, of Manchester, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore.

Born June 9, 1953, in Maryland, he was the son of the late John H. and Evelyn Wagner Schultheis. He was the husband of Suzanne Schultheis of Manchester.

He had been employed with Mainline Automotive in Baltimore for many years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Mark Douglas Schultheis Jr.; and daughter Anne Marie Schultheis, both of Manchester; mother and father-in-law Eugene and Ann Green of Randallstown; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, with Deacon Jack Coster officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

George O. McCann Jr., 60, of Reisterstown

George O. McCann Jr., 60, of Reisterstown, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Northwest Hospital Medical Center, Randallstown.

Born May 29, 1944, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George O. McCann Sr. and Hazel Miller McCann. He was the husband of Debra A. Bradshaw McCann.

He had worked at the Addict Referral and Counseling Center Inc. (ARCC) for 32 years, moving up from a trainee to a counselor, then senior counselor and coordinator of rapid medical intake and later to clinical director.

He attended substance abuse training provided by Morgan State College, Coppin State College, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration, Baltimore Substance Abuse Systems Inc. and obtained his certified addiction counselor certification. He was appointed executive director by ARCC's board of directors in 1996.

He was also a member of the Baltimore City Substance Abuse Directorate and the Maryland Addiction Directors Council.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Donald Bradshaw of Perry Hall and George O. McCann III of Hampden; grandchildren D.J. Bradshaw, Katelyn Lee and Patrick Lee; and sisters Jean Penner of Florida and Diane Merson of Kingsville.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Cummins Memorial Church, 2001 Frederick Road, Catonsville, with the Rev. H. Paul Matthews III officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Addict Referral and Counseling Center, 21 W. 25thSt., Baltimore, MD 21218.
