Robert Duane Wallace Sr., 76, of Sykesville, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

Polly M. Yelton, 90, of Millers

Polly May Yelton, 90, of Millers, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at her home from natural causes.

Born Feb. 6, 1914, in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Chriss and Bertie McInturff Garland. She was the wife of the late Fred F. Yelton.

She was a charter member of Kirkridge Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are children Ruby Forbes of Shrewsbury, Pa., Joe Yelton of Finksburg, Joyce Forbes of Johnson City, Tenn., C. Thomas Yelton of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Donna Lang of Manchester; sister-in-law Julia Garland of Bakersville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son Cecil Yelton; and brothers Kenneth Garland and Everette Garland.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. James Wittkey officiating. Interment will be in Kirkridge cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kathryn M. Bechtel, 85, of Westminster

Kathryn M. Bechtel, 85, of Westminster, died Monday evening, Jan. 3, 2005, at The Brethren Home, New Oxford, Pa.

Born Nov. 29, 1919, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Norman A. and Portia Kirkhoff Miller. She was the wife of Woodrow H. Bechtel, who died in 1997.

She was a homemaker and attended Faith Community Bible Church, Westminster. She sewed tote bags, lap robes and bedspreads for Springfield State Hospital in Sykesville. She had a produce and baked goods stand for many years at the Carroll County Farm Market, Westminster.

Surviving are son Earl S. Groft Jr. of Union Mills; sister Margaret Hyser of Westminster; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by daughter Sarah E. Flynn; and son Wilbur H. Bechtel.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Community Baptist Church, 3819 Old Hanover Road, Westminster, with the Revs. Paul Cole and John Stiles officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Silver Run.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, Pa.

Randy L. Cherelstein, 50, formerly of Owings Mills

Randy Lee Cherelstein, 50, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Owings Mills, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at Sinai Hospital after an extended illness.

Born Oct. 23, 1954, in Baltimore, he was the son of Shirley Melman and the late Max Cherelstein. He was the husband of Paula Anne Todd Cherelstein.

He was a claims adjuster for Interstate Automobile Insurance. He was a longtime member, sponsor and speaker for Narcotics Anonymous.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are daughter and son-in-law Tracey and Jason Cole of Glenville, Pa.; grandson Joshua Todd of Glenville, Pa.; and brothers Steve and Bruce Cherelstein.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. Interment will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Catherine P. Dickinson, 96, of Taneytown

Catherine P. Dickinson, 96, of Taneytown, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster.

Born May 14, 1908, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William John Meyer and Helen Mary Warmuth Meyer. She was the wife of Harvey B. Dickinson Sr., who died in 1985.

She was active in the Taneytown High School PTA, the Taneytown Farm Bureau Planning Group and served on the planning committee for Francis Scott Key High School.

Surviving are sons William J. Dickinson and John W. Dickinson; daughters Marjorie Waggoner and Mary Singer; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son Harvey Dickinson Jr.; and sisters Celia, Marie, Olivia and Lydia.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Martin Feild officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch cemetery, Westminster.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

Irma A. Fold, of South Baltimore

Irma A. Fold, of South Baltimore, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005.

She was the wife of the late John M. Fold.

Surviving are children John J. Fold and wife Bonnie and Mary J. Milligan and husband Thomas; sibling Gilbert Rebstock; grandchildren Christine M. and Jennifer L. Milligan and Michele L. Sadler and husband Bill; and great-grandchild Madison Sadler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Riverside and Gittings Avenue. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A., 130 E. Fort Ave., South Baltimore.

G. Lorraine Howell, 77, formerly of Reisterstown

G. Lorriane Howell, 77, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Reisterstown, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at the home of her sister in Hampstead. She was the wife of Robert E. "Red" Howell, who died Oct. 5, 1985.

Born Sept. 7, 1927, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Gladys P. Fullum High.

She was an employee for nine years of Heritage MAZDA, Owings Mills.

Surviving are children Robert W. Howell of Baldwyn, Miss., Jennie L. Spector of Hanover and Richard S. Howell of Owings Mills; sister Jeanne Bishop of Hampstead; and grandchildren Nicole, A.J., John, Elizabeth and Margaret.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Dennis R. Keller officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Garrison Forrest Veterans cemetery, Owings Mills.

Viewings will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Arnold W. Kresge, 88, of Eldersburg

Arnold W. Kresge, 88, of Eldersburg, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the Northwest Hospital Center.

Born June 9, 1916, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Minor and Lillian Michael Kresge. He was the husband of Louise Kishbaugh Kresge, who died July 17, 1987. They were married in 1938.

He attended Elmer L. Meyers High School and graduated from Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, Pa., and Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., with a bachelor of arts degree. In 1937, the Methodist Episcopal Church, Wyoming Conference in Pennsylvania, granted him a local preacher's license.

In 1962, he was elected to the Republican County Committee representing East Ward 7 of the City of Newark. He was a member of the Newark Foreign Trade Council and the World Trade Association of New Jersey.

He moved to New Jersey in 1941 and worked in international trade. He retired in 1985 after spending 20 years as Export Manager of GOW-MAC Instrument Company.

He moved to Maryland in 1989, where he lived with his daughter. He had been recently working as a volunteer at the Montgomery County Police Station in Germantown since 1992.

Surviving are sons Arnold Wayne Kresge of Garwood, N.J., and Kerry Lynn Kresge of Fayetteville, N.Y.; daughter Linda Kresge Chu of Eldersburg; sister Vivian Bond of Binghamton, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were private. Inurnment will be in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J., at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg.

Donzal M. Lovell Sr., 81, of Owings Mills

Donzal Meredith Lovell Sr., 81, of Owings Mills, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson.

Born May 30, 1923, in Cockeysville, he was the son of the late John Clarence and Nora Erlue Bull Lovell. He was the husband of Doris Elaine Stottlemyer Lovell.

He was an Army veteran and a retired machinist for Black & Decker.

He was a member of Carroll Gills United Methodist Church and a member of the Odd Fellows of Towson for 56 years. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is daughter Darlene Elaine Rodrigues of Reisterstown.

He was predeceased by son Donzal Meredith Lovell Jr.; brothers Elwood, Melvin, Kenneth and Aubrey Lovell; and sister Thelma Lovell.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Lori Hoffman Hays officiating. Interment will be in Wiseburg cemetery in Whitehall.

Catharine B. Myers, 77, of Westminster

Catharine B. Myers, 77, of Westminster, died suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Oct. 25, 1927, in Union Mills, she was the daughter of the late Howard Aaron and Rhoda Shipley Bankert. She was the wife of Eugene K. Myers, who died in October 1987.

She was a graduate of Westminster High School. She was retired from the Board of Education in the Food Service Department at Westminster Elementary School. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are sons Wayne and Dennis Myers and Stephen Myers of Jacksonville, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Rhonda Myers; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Ken Black, all of Union Bridge; grandchildren Kara and Douglas Myers of Florida, Michelle Miller of Taneytown, Tricia Darnell of Hagerstown, Kristopher Myers of Union Bridge; and four great-granddaughters.

She was predeceased by sister Doris Haines.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. James Benedict officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary J. Baublitz, 73, of Reisterstown

Mary Jean Baublitz, 73, of Reisterstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Jan. 21, 1931, in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Percy Dulaney and Ellen Cecelia Triplett Trott. She was the wife of the late Lewis C. Baublitz Sr.

She worked for Glyndon Laundry.

Surviving are daughters Michelle L. Gephardt of Hampstead, Linda Carberry of Westminster and Roxanne Wolf of Hanover, Pa.; sons Lewis C. Baublitz Jr. of New Oxford, Pa. and Michael J. Baublitz of Reisterstown; brothers Robert Martin Trott of Reisterstown, William D. Trott of Gettysburg, Brian Keith Trott of Reisterstown, Henry F.G. Trott of Littlestown, Pa. and Percy D. Trott Jr. of Owings Mills; sisters Patricia Eitemiller of Baltimore, Barbara Diane Bosley of Owings Mills, Margaret Peterson of Reisterstown, Mazie Clifton of Finksburg and Ann Church of Reisterstown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brother Charles D. Trott.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, with the Rev. Raymond Ritter officiating. Interment will be in New Oakland cemetery, Sykesville.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Iva E. Utz, 77, of Taneytown

Iva Edna Utz, 77, of Taneytown, died Wednesday night, Jan. 5, 2005, at her home.

Born Sept. 5, 1927, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles McGraw and Helen Eyler McGraw. She was the wife of Burnell C. Utz, who died March 5, 1971.

She was a former member of the Westminster Church of God.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Thomas Magruder of Westminster, Janet and Edward Robinson of Sykesville and Karen Utz of Taneytown; son Douglas Utz of Taneytown; sisters Marie Whitcomb of Hanover, Pa., and Arlene Shaffer and Betty Tawney, both of Westminster; brothers James McGraw of Gettysburg, Pa. and William McGraw of Westminster; devoted friends Paul Hill and Ruth Stultz of Union Bridge; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sister Viola MacDonald.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with the Revs. Paul Cushing and Terry McCain officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
