Della Jane Plummer Richardson of Chestertown, Md. died on November 19, 2000 at her home. She was 93.
Born on August 19, 1907 in Queen Anne's County, Md. she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Sarah Jane Hawkins Plummer. Mrs. Richardson was the wife of the late Irving Anthony Richardson who predeceased her on February 16, 1975. Mrs. Richardson worked for Elburn's Florist as well as Acme Grocery Store in Chestertown, Md. for a few years. The majority of her life was spent raising her family. She was a devoted member of Price Bethany United Methodist Church in Price, Md. where she was involved with WSCS Women's Society. Mrs. Richardson was also a life member and Past Matron of Centreville Chapter #69 O.E.S. and a member of Centreville Holding Company O.E.S. She was also a member of the Past Matron and Patrons Assoc. Mrs. Richardson was involved with Price Community Club and Massey Homemakers. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and gardening.
She is survived by 2 daughters Sarah Jane Stant of Chestertown, Md. and Margaret C. Newnam of Massey, Md., a brother: John D. Plummer of Kennedyville, Md. along with 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Rd. Chestertown, Md. where relatives and friends may call on Tuesday evening November 21, 2000 between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 P.M. An O.E.S. service will be held at 8:00 that evening. Interment will be in Chesterfield cemetery
in Centreville, Md.

Vincent Leo Knaggs of Grasonville, MD. died Saturday November 18, 2000 at his home. He was 73.
Born on March 27, 1927 in Neenah, Wisconsin he was the son of the late Simon J. and Anna Monarski Knaggs. He attended school in South East Washington, D.C. Mr. Knaggs enlisted in the Navy and served during WW II and Korean Conflict. He married
Patricia A. Kilgallon on July 21, 1951. After being Honorably discharged form the Navy Mr. Knaggs graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Naval Gun Factory and N.A.S.A. in Washington, D.C. and retired after 36 years in May 1979 and later moved to the Eastern Shore in 1995.
He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Knaggs of Grasonville, MD. 3 sons Vincent Knaggs, Jr. of Flagstaff, AZ, Peter Knaggs of Goodyear, AZ and Joseph Knaggs of Queenstown, MD. 3 daughters Patricia Larson of Edgewater, MD., Mary Kubisiak of Lusby, MD. and Amy Gygax of Grasonville, MD. one brother John Knaggs of Ocean view, DE. A sister Lucille Monar of Oakland, MD. sixteen (16) grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held 11AM on Wednesday November 29, 2000 at the Maryland Veteran’s cemetery
Chapel Eastern Shore near Hurlock, MD.

William "Bill" Alexander Thawley, died Saturday, November 18, 2000 at Corsica Hills Nursing Center. He was 87.
Born near Ridgely, Md. he was the son of the late Albert Thawley, Sr. and Martha Robinson. He married
Myrtle Amelia Dukes of Ingleside, Md. on October 14, 1932. He was a self- employed farmer in Ingleside until he moved to Price, Md. in 1946, where he was a mechanic for D. Thompson Swing Cannery. Mr. and Mrs. Thawley owned and operated a school bus for Queen Anne's County for approx. 10 years. They moved to Tilghman Terrace in June,1994 and later to Corsica Hills.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Thawley is survived by a son, William Dukes Thawley & wife Ruth of Price, Md, and a daughter, Mrs. Martha Lee Dill & husband William of Chincoteague Island, Va.; four grandchildren : Glenn A. Neighbors & wife Trina of Queenstown, Md., Valarie Thawley of Newark, Del., Dale L. Neighbors of Murfreesboro, N.C.; and Shelley Thawley of Middletown, DE.; and two great - grandchildren : Elizabeth Neighbors and Catherine Neighbors, both of Grasonville. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Thawley, Jr., who died in 1981, and a sister, Martha Dunn, who died in 1989.
Graveside services will be held 1PM at Church Hill cemetery, Church Hill, MD. Family request that memorial contributions be made to Bethany – Price United Methodist Church General Delivery Church Hill, MD. 21623.

William Emmett Aikenhead of Cordova died on Thursday, November 16, 2000 at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge. He was 71.
Born in Litchfield, Minnesota on October 5, 1929, he was the son of the late John A. and Olga Hofflin Aikenhead. From 1948 to 1952, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt as an aviation boatswain mate. By the time he received his honorable discharge, he attained the rank of Petty Officer, 2nd Class. He made his home in Easton for over 25 years where he worked as a salesman for Pepsi Co., and as a self-employed house painter. He retired due to health reasons in 1994 and moved to Cordova. Mr. Aikenhead was a member of the E.E. Streets Memorial Post #5118, V.F.W., Easton.
Mr. Aikenhead is survived by a son, Robert Arthur Aikenhead of Easton; two daughters, Candy Milby of Cordova and Penny Finkner of Easton; a brother, Daniel Aikenhead of Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren, Amber Shorter, Frank Milby, Katie Milby, Lacey Finkner, and Cody Finkner; and a great-grandson, Ian Shorter. A grandson, Robert Shawn Warner, five brothers, John, Robert, Howard, Stanley, and James, and five sisters, Helen Rees, Virginia Lowery, Margaret Bradshaw, Vera Jones, and Geraldine Aikenhead are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at the Maryland Veterans cemetery
Chapel in Beulah on Monday, November 20, 2000 at 1:00 PM. Friends may call at the Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM.

Carol Mench Gorman of Chestertown, Maryland died on November 15, 2000 at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital. She was 61 years old.
Born in Kent County Maryland on December 21, 1938. She was the daughter of the late William & Ida Benton Mench. Mrs. Gorman graduated for Rock Hall High School, the class of 1956 and attended Chesapeake College. She received her LPN accreditation and went to work for Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital; there she worked for over 25 years retiring in 1990. Mrs. Gorman worked with the Whitsitt Center until her illness. She enjoyed family and friends.
Mrs. Gorman survived by 2 daughters; Ida Dilks of Worton, MD and D'Anna Gorman Drost of Columbia, SC, 1 son; James Gorman, Jr. of Chestertown, MD, 4 sisters; Maryland Pinder of Rock Hall, MD, Mae Clark of Baltimore, MD, Jean Creighton of Worton, MD and June Harn, 2 brothers Ben Mench of Rock Hall, MD and Phil Mench of Chestertown, MD, and 8 grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Chestertown, MD, where Friends & relatives may call one hour prior.

Evelyn M. White of Rock Hall, Maryland died on November 15, 2000 at Corsica Hills Nursing Center in Centreville, Md. She was 84.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island on June 13, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mae Louise Harding Rockey. She is the wife of the late Clyde H. White who predeceased her on June 29, 1993. Mrs. White worked in a candy store at a young age from which she had fond memories. She made her home in Pennsylvania and retired to Rock Hall, Maryland where she was a member of the Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post #228 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. White was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #652 in Millington, Maryland. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, and shopping.
She is survived by 3 brothers: Howard Rockey of South Carolina, Robert Rockey and Thomas Rockey both of Philadelphia, Pa. She is also survived by Pamela Ward, Vickie Ward, Beth Trego, and Angie Ward who gave her care during her illness.
Graveside services will be held on Friday November 17, 2000 at Wesley Chapel cemetery
in Rock Hall, Md. at 1:00 P.M.

A Funeral Liturgy for Thomas John Boyd of Grand Terrace, CA will be held at the St. Michaels Catholic Chapel in St. Michaels, MD on Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at 10:00 AM. Mr. Boyd died on Sunday, November 12, 2000 at his daughter's residence in St. Michaels. He was 75.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 30, 1925, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lilias McIntyre Boyd. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-46. Following his release from active duty, he briefly made his home in Brooklyn before moving to Charlottesville, VA. He began working as a plant manager in a chemical company, which later became part of U.S. Steel. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and later his M.B.A. from the Rutgers School of Business in Newark. He retired in October 1994 after 35 years. Mr. Boyd was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Chapel in St. Michaels, the Kiwanis of East San Bernadino, CA, and the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge # in Fontana, CA. He also was a member of the MacPherson Highlanders and the Gordon Highlanders.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Marie Creech, whom he married
in 1946; three daughters, Elizabeth Anne DeBlois of Yardly, PA, Margaret Mary McGough of St. Michaels, and Patricia Therese Boyd of Greenbelt; a son, David Andrew Boyd of Statesville, NC; two brothers, Robert Joseph Boyd of Chatham, IL and Donald Patrick Boyd of Highland, NY; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton on Tuesday November 14, 2000 from 7-8:00 PM where a prayer service will be held at 7:45 PM. Burial will be in Olivet cemetery, St. Michaels. Memorial contributions may be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
Kevin Joseph Garner of Grasonville died at his home on November 12, 2000. He was 41.
Born on October 15, 1959 in West Lanham Hills, MD, he was the son of Joseph Raymond Garner and Emma White Garner of Coles Point, Virginia. He attended Fairmont Heights High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served four years based in Germany. After being Honorably Discharged, he worked for ten years building communications towers for Tel Tronics in Capital Heights, MD, and later worked as a truck driver with Hufcor in Stevensville, MD.
In addition to his parents, he his survived by his wife, the former Karen Marie Sampson, whom he married
on June 21, 1996, two daughters, Lydee Garner and Amanda Garner, both of Lusby, MD, one son, Craig Garner of Landover Hills, MD, two step-sons, Tyler Kemp and Brandon Sampson and a step-daughter, Brittany Kemp, all of Grasonville, MD, two brothers, Richard Garner of Huntington, MD and Mark Garner of Denton, MD and one sister, Linda Boswell of Randles Cliffs, MD.
Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2000 at 9:00 AM at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Chester. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM. Burial will be at the Maryland Veterans cemetery, Cheltenham, near Upper Marlboro.

Mrs. Jeanne Maxwell, 57, of Centreville, Maryland died on November 12, 2000 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Born in New Castle, PA. She is the daughter of William and Jennifer Buiney. She spent her formative years in New Castle and received her formal education graduating from the following colleges, Indiana University in PA with her B.S., Loyola in Baltimore with a Masters and was attending Washington College in Chestertown in pursuit of a Masters in Psychology. She worked at the Benedictine School in Ridgley as a counselor for the past 7 years. Mrs. Maxwell married
George A. Maxwell, M.D. and through his occupation as a professor they traveled the world.
Mrs. Maxwell was a member of various organizations such as the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Choir for 32 yrs. and President of the Episcopal Church Women. She was Past President of the Garden Club of Centreville, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Soriety, and president of the Rumbai-Suntra women’s Golf and Tennis clubs in Indonesia. Academically, she was a member of the Chi Sigma Iota Honorary Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International and the Psi Chi National Honorary Society in Psychology. She also served as hostess for Princess Ann. In her spare time, in addition to the above she enjoyed gardening, and being with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 32 years, George A. Maxwell, M.D. of Centreville, MD, a son Robert William Maxwell of Fairfax, VA. and 5 step grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 15th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Centerville, MD, interment will be in Chesterfield cemetery
in Centreville.

Eva Geneva Lewis of Easton died on Saturday, November 11, 2000 at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton. She was 89.
Born on August 8, 1911 in Gwinnett County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Florida Bagwell Scales. She graduated from the Dixie Consolidated High School in Dixie, GA. After moving to Easton, she worked for the Talbot Country Club and later for Fox's Family Store for fifteen years until her retirement. Her husband, Albert Vernon Lewis, whom she married
in September of 1942, died in 1970.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by a daughter, Laura "Ann" Sard of Easton; three sons, A. Clay Lewis and Henry E. "Snap" Lewis, both of Cambridge, and Randall S. Lewis of Easton; a sister, Montine Davis of Quincy, FL; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Spring Hill cemetery, Easton on Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at 11:00 AM.
