WILDA J. HILE
Wilda J. Hile, 77, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Oakland, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton.
Born June 11, 1931, in Pierce, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Floda V. Turner Arnold. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Hile, in 2001.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Mtn. Lake Park, and attended the Fellowship Baptist Church, Bradenton, for many years. She was a member of the Oakland Chapter #67 Order of the Eastern Star since Oct. 19, 1976, with Robert Paugh as her Worthy Patron and in 1994 with Theodore Raynovich as her Worthy Patron.
She was Grand Martha for Grand Chapter of Maryland Order of the Eastern Star in 1987-88, and she served as deputy grand lecturer for many years to local chapters in the area. She held many offices in the Oakland chapter, and for the 75th anniversary of the chapter, she wrote its first history.
She worked for H-P stores for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Steven C. Hile and wife Rev. Marcy T., Moundsville, W.Va., and Jeffrey Hile, Frederick; one sister, Louise Kirby, Clarksburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Lawrence J. Arnold, Tampa, Fla., and Harry Arnold, Orlando, Fla.; one granddaughter, Corey G. Hile, Morgantown, W.Va.; one grandson, Ethan M. Hile, Morgantown; one
step-grandson, Jeremy Helmick; and two step-granddaughters, Rebecca and Rachel Helmick.
At her request, her body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at the Fellowship Baptist Church at a later date to be announced.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Davis cemetery, Davis, W.Va., at a later date.
Arrangements were handled by Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, Moundsville.

RAYMOND O. BRANT
Raymond Owen "Buck" Brant, 86, McHenry, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at his residence.
Born Oct. 4, 1922, in McHenry, he was the son of the late George Samuel and Edna (Callis) Brant. He was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Robert Hauser.
Mr. Brant was a self-employed carpenter and building contractor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Irene (Murphy) Brant; two sons, Roger Brant and wife Conni and Ronald Brant and wife Carol, all of McHenry; one daughter, Melva Hauser, Loch Lynn; three sisters, Jane Spear, Florida, Shirley Burns, McHenry, and Jessie Basham, Roanoke, Va.; and two grandsons, Steven Brant and Cem Brant.
Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Accident/McHenry, where a service was conducted today, Thursday, Jan. 8, with Pastor Butch Glotfelty officiating.
Interment was held in Thayerville cemetery, Oakland, where military graveside rites were accorded by area veterans' service organizations.

EVERETT W. HARE
Everett William Hare, 67, Grantsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at his residence.
Born Sept. 27, 1941, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was a son of the late Marshall E. and Bernice M. (Bittinger) Hare. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Hare; and one sister, Darlene M. Hare.
Mr. Hare was employed for 37 years as a brick picker for Clayburn Refractories, formerly known as Harbison-Walker Refractories. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Grantsville. He enjoyed traveling, loved his family, and his grandchildren meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, LaDonna L. (Richter) Hare; one son, James W. Hare, wife Tammy (Swauger), and their two children, Kaley and Tyler, Grantsville; one daughter, Rebecca L. (Hare) Humberson, husband Thomas, and their son, Jason, Grantsville; and one brother, Ronald Hare and wife Carolyn, Canton, Ohio.
Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was held today, Thursday, Jan. 8, with the Rev. David E. Fetter and Rev. Curtis Eaby officiating.
Interment was held in Grantsville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Humberson, Jason Humberson, William Hare, Duane Hare, Roy Wilhelm Jr., and Robert Niner.
Flowers are welcomed, but if contributions are desired they made be directed to Hospice of Garrett County.

ROBERT R. FRAZEE
Robert Ray Frazee, 82, Friendsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at his residence.
Born Aug. 25, 1926, at Selbysport, he was a son of the late Nathaniel Judson and Dosha (Wakefield) Frazee. Mr. Frazee was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cynthia Thomas; three brothers, Earl Frazee, Floyd Frazee, and Ralph Frazee; and two sisters, Ruth Faucett and Mildred "Mae" Steyer.
Mr. Frazee was a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 37, of which he was a member for 50 years.
He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, a lifetime member of VFW Post 10077, Deer Park, and a member of the Friendsville United Methodist Church.
Having celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 25, 2008, he is survived by his wife, Audrey (Shaffer) Frazee. Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie Glotfelty and husband Jim, McHenry, and Nancy Thomas and husband David, Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Paul Frazee and wife Lavonna, Friendsville, and Lawrence "Benny" Frazee and wife Janice, Frostburg; one brother-in-law, Ronald Steyer, Oakland; one sister, Thelma Emory and husband Bill, Bittinger; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Frazee, Oakland, and Mary Frazee and Norma Frazee, both of Friendsville; two grandchildren, Tracey Glotfelty Miller, Grantsville, and Matthew Thomas, Friendsville; and two great-grandsons, Timothy and Ryan Miller, Grantsville.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, today, Thursday, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
A service will be conducted at Friendsville United Methodist Church on Friday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Sarah Rettig officiating.
Interment will be in Blooming Rose cemetery.
His body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Military rites will be accorded by area veterans' service organizations. Pallbearers are Owen Frantz, Terry Bowman, Ward Frazee, George Bishoff, Dan Manges, and Mike Carr.

TIMOTHY J.N. McBRIDE
Timothy John Nevel McBride, 52, Accident, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, with his loving wife Shari by his side at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Philadelphia, Pa.
Timmy's family and friends were with him throughout his last days on earth. Thanks to the caring and compassion of his family, CTCA, and the Radisson, his beloved dog Lassie was able to be with him in his final hours.
Born on May 12, 1956, in McKeesport, Pa., Timmy was a 1974 graduate of Elizabeth-Forward High School. Timmy, the second youngest in a family of nine children, was always a child of invention and good humor. Blessed with his good nature and generous heart, Timmy had many friends. He gladly gave of himself, helping anyone who needed it. He loved being surrounded by his friends as well as family to share stories, food, and drink.
Timmy loved coming to the pristine Garrett County as a boy with his family. He worked on the road for many years as foreman and window installer on high-rise apartments. He was an expert drywall hanger and finisher. One could often find him whistling or singing as he worked. He built and managed Bumble Bee RV Park and Campground near Deep Creek Lake with the constant support of his daughter Michele and the generous support of his closest friends and family.
Timmy was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was well versed on current events and history, and he was very passionate about his political beliefs. He enjoyed reading as many newspapers as he could. He appreciated the beauty of nature and worked to preserve it.
He could fix just about anything. With his tough demeanor he was an extremely devoted family man fearlessly defending the ones he loved. Timmy had a special reverence for God’s creatures, big and small. He took care of many throughout his lifetime. He loved to be around children and was a protector and mentor to many.
Timmy was a wonderful father to his beautiful daughter, Michele "Sweet Pea." He was a special blessing to his step-daughter, Kristen, as he raised her like his own.
A living example of hard work, kindness, and generosity, Timmy will be very sadly missed by his family, his many friends, and Lassie.
He leaves behind his wife, Shari; daughter Michele McBride; stepdaughter Kristen DeWitt; sisters Franny McBride, Patsy Brewer, Mary Laura, Chrissie Spiker, Peggy Gosnell, and Claudia Spiker; brothers Terry "T.J." McBride and Mike McBride; and father Terry McBride. He is also survived by his grandson, Timothy Wayne "Tim Bob" Sherbin, whom he cherished dearly. In the four short years he shared with his grandfather, Tim Bob has picked up his wit and sense of humor and his love for animals and people.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 126, McHenry, MD 21541, for the Timothy J. McBride Animal Fund to be used by Countryside Animal Hospital to help with those who cannot afford medical treatment for their animal. The second fund will be the Timothy Wayne Sherbin College Fund.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Sang Run Christian Center at 1 p.m., followed by a gathering at the Southern Rescue Squad reception hall on Route 135, Mtn. Lake Park.
Friends and family are invited to share in this celebration and remembrance of Timmy's life.
MARY E. GROSS
Mary E. Gross, 86, formerly of North Little Rock, Ark., died on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Plummerville, Ark., she was the daughter of the late William Waddle and Mary Grimes. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Gabe Seaborn and James Gross; one son, Woodrow Seaborn; and one daughter, Catherine Haydon.
She was a member of the Perryville Assembly of God Church, Perryville, Ark., and attended the Pleasant View Baptist Church while living in the Oakland area. She retired from the Sara Lee Bakery in Little Rock.
She is survived by one daughter, Bobbie Beckman and husband Gary, Oakland; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, North Little Rock, where a service will be conducted on Monday, Jan. 12, with interment at Edgewood cemetery.
Local arrangements were provided by Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, W.Va.
WILLIAM E. SOLOMON
William Edward "Ed" Solomon, 92, LaVale, passed peacefully early Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the Kensington, where he had resident since mid-November.
Born Sept. 15, 1916, Ed was the only child of the Alzene Light Solomon and William Hamilton Solomon.
A 1935 graduate of Hyndman High School, Ed attended Penn State University, State College, Pa.
Mr. Solomon owned and operated Pennsylvania Lumber & Post Company ("Pensy") in Hyndman, Pa. which was founded by his father in 1923. The firm relocated to National Highway in lower LaVale after the Hyndman Christmas fire in 1949. In the mid-1960s, Ed worked for ABL Hercules in the Property Division and later consulted and procured specialty locust posts for parks nationwide through the U.S Park Service.
Mr. Solomon was one of the original 31 charter members of the LaVale Lions Club and served as the club’s president in 1956, the year the club held its first Christmas tree sale.
A member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Ed loved his car collection and traveling to the various clubs and shows in the region; he was active in the Cumberland, Bedford and Winchester clubs and served as president of the Queen City Chapter, Shenandoah Region, Antique Automobile Club, 1961-1962. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cumberland where he served as deacon in 1961.
For over 50 years, Ed and his family cherished the time they shared boating, fishing and making lasting friendships at their Turkey Neck residence on Deep Creek Lake.
Mr. Solomon is survived by his wife, Eleanor Kelley Solomon, whom he married
on September 7, 1940, and their only child, Elaine Kelley Solomon, LaVale and Chester, Maryland.
Friends will be received at Hafer Funeral Home, LaVale, on Friday, Jan. 9, from noon until 2 p.m., followed by a service, with Pastor Ken Korns, his longtime friend, officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.

MARK D. McINTYRE
Mark Douglas McIntyre, 57, Clairsville, Ohio, passed from this life on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008.
Born June 26, 1951, in New Martinsville, W.Va., Mark was a son of Georgia McIntyre, Dallas, W.Va., and the late Rev. Perry McIntyre.
A 37-year veteran of the coal industry, and one of its greatest proponents, Mark was most recently employed at Consol Energy's McElroy Plant, Moundsville, W.Va. He was one of five children. They were preacher's kids who lived and worshiped all over West Virginia. Mark was the last member of Dallas Pike Baptist Church, Triadelphia, W.Va. Mark was also proud to be an endowment member of the National Rifle Association.
He had many friends and acquaintances, and a large extended family, all of whom were very fond of him. He was warm and generous, and he had a special way with words.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, M. Beth Stricklin McIntyre; his children, Jill McIntyre, Charleston, W.Va., Seth McIntyre and wife Michele, Moundsville, Kyle McIntyre, Moundsville, and Taylor McIntyre, at home; his brothers and sisters, Perry McIntyre, and wife Patty, Lost Creek, W.Va., Linda Lewis and husband Wayne, Corinth, W.Va., Diane Fadal and husband Mitch, Waco, Texas, and Joe McIntyre and wife Teresa, Bolt, W.Va.; Beth's parents, Chalmers and Dorothy Stricklin, Dallas; five granddaughters; and two stepgrandsons, each of whom held a special place in his heart, Kathleen, Heather, Brenna, and Riley McIntyre, Courtney Coulter, and Corey and Eddie Nida.
Friends were received at Kepner Funeral Home, Wheeling, W.Va.
A service was held on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Dallas Pike Baptist Church, Tridelphia, with the Rev. Robert J. Romick officiating.
Interment was to be held at the convenience of the family.

REBECCA B. MARTIN
Rebecca Bernice (Roupe) Martin, 93, McHenry, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at her residence.
Born July 15, 1915, in Quincy, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Ernest Newton Jasper and Alma Florence (Goodman) Roupe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Albon Martin, Dec. 12, 2003.
She was a secretary for over 43 years, a member of North Methodist Church, Raymor, Mo., Allied Arts Gallery, Richland, Wash., and the AOC Organ Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Iris C. Keeney and Utoka Elaine Richardson, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Lorenzo Roupe, Lompoc, Calif.; one sister, Truly Garrison, Ignacio, Colo.; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted on Monday, May 4.
Cremation followed the service.
