September 1, 1999

Theresa Mae Morgan Middleton of Salisbury, MD, died on September 1, 1999 after a lengthy illness. She was 84.

Born in Baltimore, MD on April 6, 1915, she was the daughter of the late James and Olive Belle Hudson Morgan. She was raised by her grandparents Effie M. & Albert W. Hudson from the age two, at their home in Piney Neck near Rock Hall, MD and used the name of Hudson throughout her school years. After graduating from Rock Hall High School, she moved to Baltimore in 1933 to study hairdressing. In 1935 she married James Thomas Middleton and worked as a homemaker, raising her family. Mrs. Middleton became a member of the Gatch Memorial Methodist Church, and was past Matron of Bethel Chapter #71 O.E.S. After retiring to Rock Hall, She joined the Rock Hall United Methodist Church. Because of illness, she and her husband Tom lived with their son Jack and his wife Melva in Salisbury.

A loved and loving wife and mother, Mrs. Middleton is survived by her husband James Thomas Middleton of Salisbury, MD, two sons; James Albert & wife Mickie of Virginia; John Thomas, Sr. and wife Melva of Salisbury, MD and eight grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many loving and loved friends. Services were private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Fund, PO Box 577, Rock Hall, Maryland 21661.

October 31, 1999

Virginia Ethel Kuhn Robinson of Tolchester Estates near Chestertown, Md. died on October 31, 1999 at her home. She was 77.

She was born in Altoona, Pa. on January 23, 1922. The daughter of the late David Westley and Olive Lovetta Herring Kuhn. She married Julian Thomas Robinson in 1935. Together they moved to Tolchester, Md. in 1935. Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker active in the community association in Tolchester. She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of Rock Hall United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband of 57 years; she is survived by a son: Robert Robinson of Baltimore, Md.; 2 brothers: Robert Kuhn of Tolchester, Md. and David Kuhn of Florida; a sister: Elizabeth Ittner of Florida; 3 grandchildren: Donna Boone, Michael Constantino, Angela Constantino, along with great grandchildren: Ashley, Jessica and Johnathon Boone.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 3, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Rd. Chestertown, Md. Relatives and friends may call the funeral home on Wednesday 2 hours prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 711 Chestertown, Md. 21620.

October 30,1999

William Richard McCracken of Chestertown, Md. died on October 30, 1999 at Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital. He was 77.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on December 17, 1921 the son of the late George B. and Gladys Watkins McCracken. He was the husband of Joyce Schuyler McCracken. Mr. McCracken served as 1st Lieutenant with the Army of the United States during the Second World War in the African and Italian Theatres. His decorations included European, African, and Middle Eastern with Six Battle Stars, A bronze arrowhead, and the Purple Heart for wounds he received in Sicily.

Following his discharge from the Army, Mr. McCracken pursued a life-long career in commercial/ industrial real estate in the city of Philadelphia, as a broker and appraiser. A secondary career was in the field of vocal music, wherein Mr. McCracken performed professionally in opera, concerts, and church music. Following his retirement in 1989 from the Montgomery County (Pa.) Assessor's Office Board of Appeals. Mr. McCracken and his wife moved to Chestertown, Md. Mr. McCracken was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Parish of Church Hill, Md., the Chester River Yacht and Country Club in Chestertown, Md., and The Old Salt's Society of Chestertown, Md. His lifelong interests included music, golfing, sailing, and fishing.

In addition to his wife of 17 years, he is survived by a son: William R. McCracken, Jr. of Bloomington, Indiana; three grandchildren: Joshua, Micah, and Mary; three stepsons: George, Richard and Steven Anderson, and five step grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in the near future, and will be announced prior to that time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kent Hospice Foundation 118 S. On October 30,1999 at The Brethren Community, New Oxford, PA. Dear daughter of the late Adolph and Bertha Kriha Eisenrauch; beloved wife of the late George W. Grimes; loving mother of Charles Kramer, Gilbert Grimes, Ernest Grimes, Dolores DiBlasi, Ann Stein and the late George W. Grimes Jr.; loving sister of the late Frank Eisenrauch and Joseph "Butz" Eisenrauch; loving grandmother of seventeen and numerous great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, November 6, 1999 at 11 AM at St. Christophers Catholic Church, in Stevensville, Md. October 28, 1999

Florence M. Loscomb of Oxford died on Thursday, October 28, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital, Easton.

She was 78. Born on July 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Calvert and Margaret Goslin Creighton. After marrying John "Plink" Loscomb, Sr., a commercial waterman, in 1941, she moved to Oxford where she lived the remainder of her life. Mr. Loscomb died in 1992.

Mrs. Loscomb was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church. She was a member and Past-President of the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. Mrs. Loscomb is survived by four sons, John "Bill" Loscomb of Finksburg, Ricky Loscomb of Secretary, Michael Loscomb of Oxford, and Robin Loscomb of Federalsburg; two brothers, Charles C. Creighton of Baltimore, and Ronald L. Creighton of Seaford, DE; a half-brother, David Creighton of Vienna; fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Robert L. Creighton, and three grandchildren are deceased.

Memorial services will be held at the Oxford United Methodist Church, Oxford on Tuesday, November 2, 1999 at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.

October 27, 1999

Charles G. Clift age 82 years. Died on October 27, 1999 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center Salisbury, MD.

He was born in Kent County Maryland on April 8, 1917. He was the son of the Late R. S. and Macie Elbourn Clift. He was a veteran of World War II, and a Member of Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post 36 of Kent County Maryland. Before retirement he worked for the US Postal Service for more than 36 years.

Mr. Clift is survived by his wife Ruth Clift, one daughter Barbara Sue Dickerson and a son in law Harry Dickerson of Easton, MD; Two grandchildren Kathie Kink and Jackie Dickerson a step son and daughter in law, James H. Porter, Jr. and his wife Bonita N. Porter of Princess Anne, MD. His first wife Velma Mae Clift preceded him in death in March of 1984.

Graveside services will be held at Chester cemetery, Chestertown, MD on Tuesday, November 2nd at 3:00 p.m. The Reverend David Bringman will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to John Wesley United Methodist Church c/o Chandler Otto, Reading Ferry Road, Princess Anne, MD 21853.

October 26, 1999

Robert Lewis Hunter of Church Hill, Md. died on October 26, 1999 at Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital.

He was 62. He was born in Upland, Pa. the son of the late Louis Robert and Faith Stokes Martin Hunter. Mr. Hunter graduated from Centreville High School in Centreville, Md. with the class of 1955. He worked for the Sunoco Service Station for several years. He later worked as a surveyor for the State of Maryland, a position he held for over 30 years. He retired this past July.Mr. Hunter was a member of the Easton Moose Lodge #1520.

Mr. Hunter is survived by a brother: William Edward Hunter, a sister in law: Patsy Hunter and a niece: Tricia Lynn Hunter all of Crumpton, Md.

Graveside services will be held on Friday October 29, 1999 at 11:00 A.M. at Chesterfield cemetery in Centreville, Md. The Rev. Robert Townsend will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

October. 24,1999

David Alan Moore of Chester died at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on Sunday, October 24, 1999. He was 48.

Born on May 3, 1951 in Richwood, West Virginia, he was the son of Virginia Taylor Moore of Fairmont, WV and the late Edgel L. Moore.

He graduated from Norman Town High School in West Virginia. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Marine Corp. in Vietnam. He was employed by U.S. Airlines as a pilot for the past ten years and as a flight instructor prior to that.

Mr. Moore married Debi Smith on February 11, 1999 and resided in Chester.

He loved flying, traveling, sailing and fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kent Island in Stevensville.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Moore is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Moore of Fairmont, WV; one brother, Dale Moore and wife Carlena of Mannington, WV; four sisters: Kathy Gower and husband John of Rivesville, WV, Mary Jane Gorman of Grant Town, WV, Judy Testa and husband Lou of Manassas, VA, and Patricia Moore of Fairmont, WV; and one aunt, Ree Pedrick and husband Bob of Hebron, MD.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 1999 at the First Baptist Church of Kent Island in Stevensville. Family and friends may call at the church one-hour before.

Memorial contributions may be made as In the Memory of David Alan Moore, Ronald McDonald House, 635 West Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21201.

On Oct. 24,1999 Dale Eugene Elliott of Hurlock Maryland died at Dorchester Memorial Hospital, after a long Illness. He was 72 years old.

Mr. Elliott was born in Greenfield Iowa on Aug. 12, 1927 the son of The late: Ross Elliott and Pearl Lundy Elliott. The family moved to Baltimore and from their Mr. Elliott entered the US Navy. He served in the navy from 1949 until 1953. Mr. Elliott worked as a mechanic for Glenn L. Martin in Baltimore MD and most of his career in construction as a drywall finisher. In April 1970 he married Rosie Mae Mansfield O’Donnell of Grasonville Md. In 1989 they moved to Hurlock Md. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Denton Md.

He is survived by his wife Rosie Mae Elliott, Three sons: Lester Elliott of Baltimore, Raymond Shanks of Marion, MD, Thomas Alfred Shanks of Denton, MD, Eight daughters: Linda Gagne, Patricia Mimmick, Dawn Miller, Theresa Watson, all of Baltimore, Debbie Soldo of Brooklyn NY, Lorraine Cohey of Federalsburg MD, Eleanor Towers of Grasonville MD, Diana Lee Yewell of Grasonville MD, one brother Oral Elliott of Baltimore MD, and one sister: Susann Goode of Sykesville MD. 23 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren also survived him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Oct. 27, 1999 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Centreville MD at 1pm. The Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Chesterfield cemetery, Centreville MD.

October 23, 1999

Victor Vernon Otto of Spring Hill, Florida formerly of Queenstown, MD. Died October 23, 1999 at his home in Florida. He was 82.

Born on April 1, 1917 in West Clarksville, NY. He was the son of the late Ralph and Blanche Ferrington Otto. He was a graduate of Portville High School in NY. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Rudolph on September 23, 1944. They later moved to Anne Arundel County where Mr. Otto was a self employed Building Contractor in Anne Arundel and Queen Anne’s Counties. In 1976 they moved to Queenstown, MD. and Mr. Otto retired in 1980. He was a partner in M&O Auto Sales in Easton, MD. for five years. In 1995 they moved to Spring Hill, Florida.

Mr. Otto was very active in Christian Work with being a former member of Perry Hall Baptist Church in Perry Hall, MD., Granite Baptist Church in Glen Burine, MD., Wye Bible Church in Queenstown, MD. and a active member of Northcliff Baptist Church in Spring Hill, FL. He was a member of Gideons International; a volunteer guide with the North America Wild Fowl Trust at Horse Head Farm in Grasonville, MD.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Otto of Spring Hill, FL. a son David V. Otto of Florida and Two granddaughters.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 29, 1999 at 1pm at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD. Where family and friends may call on Thursday October 28, 1999 from 7pm to 9pm. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burine, MD.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to Gideons International P.O. Box 140800 Nashville, TN 37214-0800.

October 22, 1999

John A. Windsor of Trappe, MD died on Friday, October 22, 1999 at University of Maryland Shock Trauma, Baltimore, MD. He was 21.

Born in Easton,MD on June 25, 1978, he was the son of Carl and Shirley Knauer Windsor of Trappe. After attending public school in Talbot County he held numerous jobs. He attended Emmanuel Wesleyan Chapel in Trappe, MD.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Windsor is survived by two brothers, Carlton Meade Windsor, III of San Diego, CA and Carroll Todd Windsor of Savannah, GA; his maternal grandparents, Irvin and Eunice Knauer of Trappe; and his paternal grandmother, Edna Windsor of Toddville, MD.

Memorial services will be held at the Emmanuel Wesleyan Chapel, Trappe, on Wednesday, October 27, 1999 at 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 1999 at Upper Bambury cemetery, Trappe at 2:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Chapel, 29503 Piney Hill Road, Trappe, MD 21673. Arrangements are by the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton.
