Agnes J. "Mom" Williams (nee Dotson), age 92, of Westminster, died Wed. December 24, 2003 at York Hospital, York, PA.

She was born December 18, 1911 in Winfield, MD the daughter of the late John W. Dotson, Sr. and the late Mary Louise Gassoway Dotson.

She was the wife of the late Marcus Williams.

She was a nurse at Springfield State Hospital and a member of Fairview U.M. Church in Taylorsville.

She was the mother of Minnie Louise Williams of York, Audrey Carter of Chicago, Patsy Spencer of York, Richard Dabbs, Sr. of Randallstown, Betty Alexander of York, Pauline Preston of York, PA and the late James E. Dotson-McMillan.

Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service Wednesday December 31, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School), with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Marcus of Fairview U.M. Church officiating.

Interment Fairview U.M. Church cemetery

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Wed. from 10:00-11:00 AM.

84, of Woodbine, MD
1920 - 2004

Alan Clifton Owens of Woodbine, MD died Tuesday May 11, 2004 at Northwest Hospital Center

He was the spouse of the late Mary Loretta Spicer Owens

He was born May 5, 1920 in Annapolis Junction and spent most of his early life in Elkridge and moved to Woodbine after serving in the Navy during WWII

He was the son of the late Robert and Annie Patterson Owens.

Mr. Owens was a member of Westminster VFW Post 467 and American Legion Gold star Post 191, Mt. Airy, MD

Mr. Owens enjoyed raising beef cows and growing tomato plants and loved life. He had a warm and loving personality and gathered many friends along the way and was well respected by his neighbors and all that knew him..

Surviving are his Son: Bill Owens of Woodbine, Son and daughter in-law Jeff and Carol Owens of Effort, PA, Daughter and son-in-law Susan and Steven Leatherwood of Woodbine, Daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Michael Wright of Sykesville..

Brothers: Richard Owens of Florida and Phillip Owens of Elkridge

6 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren preceded in death by brothers Jack, Robert and Norris Owens and sister Margaret Gaither.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 15, 2004 9 AM BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday May 14, 2004 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM where the VFW will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 PM.

Albert Augustus Franklin, age 79, of Taylorsville, Md., died Friday October 10, 2003 at Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy. Md.

He was born August 20, 1924 in Carroll County, Taylorsville, Maryland, the son of the late Fred Franklin and the late Julia Ann Hooper Franklin.

He was a truck driver and a farmer.

He was the husband of the late Edna May Franklin (nee Kline).

He was the father of Ronald E. Yeager of Virginia and the late Connie J. Wolf.

He was the brother of Luther J. Franklin of New Windsor, Mary Alma Franklin of New Windsor and Belva Richards of Littleton, Colo.

Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday October 15, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. "Bud" Kibbe, Methodist Clergy, officiating.

Interment will be in Taylorsville U.M. Church cemetery, Taylorsville, MD
Pallbearers will be Glenn Mullinex, Harry Franklin, Todd Wolf, Jeff Wolf, Ricky Barbe, Francis Lowe and Mike Laychak.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM

Alma M. Smith (nee Stone), age 88, of Sykesville, MD, died Monday December 22, 2003, at University Hospital of Maryland, Baltimore, MD

She was the wife of the late John Joseph Smith, Sr.

She was born December 10, 1915 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Benjamin Whitely Stone and the late Theresa Louise Zamanack Stone.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Flohrville U.M. Church in Sykesville, MD

She was the mother of John J. Smith, Jr. and wife Betty of Mt. Airy, JoAnn S. Dreyer and husband Frederick of Catonsville, Maria S. Haulsee and husband Blake of Winfield, and Joyce S. Lizor and husband William of Sykesville.

Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday December 27, 2003 at 12:30 P.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Henry E. Ernst of Flohrville U.M. Church in Sykesville officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.

Ann Lasko Hinsche, 85 of Woodlawn, MD, died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at Golden Age Guest Home, Sykesville, MD she was born November 3, 1919 in Uniontown, PA the daughter of the late Paul and Efrozina Lasko . She worked as a cook for Woodlawn Pharmacy before retiring. She was a member of St. Andrews Orthodox Church in Baltimore and more recently a member of the Orthodox church of St. Matthew in Columbia.

Surviving are Son William and daughter-in-law Deborah Hinsche of Westminster. Son and Daughter-in-law Paul and Shirleen Hinsche of Westminster; Son and Daughter-in-law Daniel and Sandy Hinsche of Mt. Airy. Sisters: Effie Kolick of Woodlawn, Pauline Rachuba of Dundalk Grandchildren: Dana Facius, Timothy and Adam Hinsche, Steve Alexander and Angela Stull. Great-Grandchildren: Luke and Meghan Hinsche, Reagan Facius and Zane Stull.

Preceded in death by Sisters Mary Gaglagola and Helen Lasko.

Funeral Services will be held Monday December 20, 2004 12 Noon at St. Andrews Orthodox Church in America, 2028 E. Lombard St. Baltimore, MD.

Interment will be in St. Andrews Church cemetery, Dundalk, MD

The family will receive friends at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Sunday December 19, 2004 6-8 PM .

Died Tuesday December 9, 2003 at her home in Woodbine.

She was the spouse of James P. Murk of Woodbine.

She was born August 2, 1943 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Cleora Henderson Thomas and the late Step-Father Robert Thomas

She was a homemaker.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are half-brother: James Thomas of Glen Burnie, MD and half-sister: Frances Tumblin of Eldersburg, MD. Also survived by niece: Michelle and a nephew David.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday December 12, 2003 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784

with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

Ann Marie Lee (nee Marcum), age 42, of Mt. Airy, died Tuesday August 10, 2004, at her home.

She was born March 1, 1962 in Bethesda, Maryland the daughter of William Edgar Marcum of Sandy Spring and Mary Elizabeth Bone Marcum of Laurel.

She was the wife of James Edgar Lee of Mt. Airy.

She was a homemaker and she graduated from South Carroll High School in 1980.

She was the mother of Jamie Ann Lee, Anthony James Lee and William Michael Lee all of Mt. Airy.

She was the grandmother of Rachelle Ann Lee and Rory Alonzo Watts III.

Sister of Kimberly Sue McGaha of Frederick and James Michael Marcum of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Daughter in law of William and Nelda Lee of Mt. Airy.

Sister in law of Carolyn Lee of Mt. Airy.

Also survived by special Aunt and Uncle Diane and Bruce Holland and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
