Died Wednesday December 10, 2003 at Carroll Hospital Center.

She was the spouse of the late George J. Grace, Sr.

She was born August 4, 1918 in Baltimore, MD

The Daughter of the late William and late Mary Falter Young.

Mrs. Grace was a supervisor for what was formerly known as C & P Telephone, which is now Verizon. She is a member of St. Clemant Roman Catholic Church and the church’s Sodality. Mrs. Grace was a member of the over 50 club and loved to Cook.

She is survived by Daughter Margaret Dimond of Westminster, Son and Daughter-in-law George”Bud” J. Grace, Jr. and Maria Grace of Westminster, and Companion Morton Londer of Halethorpe.

Stepsisters: Betty Young and Anne Nelson.

Grandchildren: Meaghan Dimond, Amanda, Julie and Alex Grace and Several Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by stepbrothers William and Jack Young.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday December 15, 2003 10 Am at St. Clemant Roman Catholic Church, 2700 Washington Ave. Lansdowne, MD 21227.

Interment will be in New Cathedral cemetery, Baltimore, MD

The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM.

Charles Burdette, Sr.
64, of New Windsor, MD
1940 - 2004

Charles “Butch” Burdette, Sr., age 64, of New Windsor, MD died on Friday December 10, 2004 at home.

He was born March 26, 1940 in Bartonsville, Maryland the son of the late Rodney Cleveland Burdette, Jr. and the late Laura Evelyn Virginia Burdette (nee May).

He was a Glass Mechanic for Burdette Glass Co. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter.

Survived by his wife Sharon Lee Burdette (nee Poland).

Father of Charles R. Jr. and Diane Burdette of New Windsor, Virginia J. and Franklin Remsburg, Jr. of Point of Rocks, MD, Randy and Gina Burdette of Taneytown, and Shawn Burdette and Charles White of New Windsor.

Brother of Ann Stockman of Middletown, MD, Rebecca Barthel of Hagerstown and Linda Main of Libertytown and the late Benjamin Franklin Tinney and late William Cleveland Burdette.

Grandfather of Jesse, Lindsay, Franklin III, Ryan, Carmella, Jerry, Shatana and Laura.

Great grandfather of Kyla and Cameron.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 P.M.

Funeral Service Wednesday December 15, 2004 at 7:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., with the Rev. Rodney Cleveland Burdette officiating.

Private Interment.

Charles (Chuck) Evert Farmer, age 38, of Georgetown, DE, formerly of Catonsville, MD, died Monday May 10, 2004 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.

He was born November 3, 1965 in Baltimore, MD the son of George James Farmer, Jr. and Ruth N. (nee Trott) Farmer of Hernwood, MD.

He was an Elevator Mechanic for Elevator Engineering in Baltimore, MD
He was and Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association.

He was the husband of Cindy Farmer (nee Dubow).

Dear brother of George J. and Ava M. Farmer, III of Ellicott City and Kevin L. Farmer of Long Neck, Delaware.

Also survived by nieces Athena M. Farmer and Abigail L. Fitzwater and nephews Kenneth S. and George J. Farmer IV.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Funeral Service will be held Friday May 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Granite Presbyterian Church, 10637 Old Court Road, Granite, MD with the Rev. Jan Trammell-Savin officiating.

Interment will be in Granite Presbyterian Church cemetery, Granite, MD.

1961 - 2005

Cathy Sue Johnson-Meachum, 43 of Woodbine, MD died Thursday February 24, 2005 at her home in Woodbine.

She was born September 29, 1961 in Chesapeake, VA the daughter of the late Luther Merle Meachum and the late Vernell “Faye” Gordon Meachum.

She worked as a secretary for Kinna Contractors and also as a bartender at The Friendly Inn in Ellicott City. She enjoyed playing bingo and liked Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Surviving her are daughter and son-law Crystal and Jason Jackman of Woodbine, 2 Grandchildren Morgan Faye and Taylor Nicole Jackman of Woodbine, Sister: Lisa Baker of Woodbine. Brother Tom Meachum of Taneytown. Brother Charles Meachum of CA. Also survived by special friend Drew Higgins of Sykesville and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends will be held Wednesday March 2, 2005 3-5 PM at Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Charles Washington Carr
94, of Westminster, MD
1909 - 2004

Died Sunday May 23, 2004 at Westminster Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was the spouse of the late Mary BeCraft Carr and later married to Eva Totten Carr.

He was born December 10, 1909 in Winfield, MD the son of the late Marshall G. Carr and late Gertrude Frizzell Carr.

He was retired from being a Truck Driver and most recently had worked at McDonald’s in Westminster. A Member of The Church of the Open Door Westminster.

Survived by Daughter:Patricia Ann Whitman of Sykesville, Daughter Wanda Lee Rodriguez of Reisterstown, and Numerous Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter the late Shirley Reaver.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday May 26, 2004 at 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. with the Rev. John Campbell of the Church of the Open Door officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD

The Family will receive friend at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM .

Clarence "Tom" Anderson
79, of Mt. Airy, MD
1924 - 2003

Died Saturday December 13, 2003 at his home in Mt. Airy.

He was the Spouse of 55 years to Fannie Mable Young Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was born April 30, 1924 in Arbutus MD the son of the late Aleck and late Bertha Feurherd Anderson.

Mr. Anderson Co-Owned and Operated a Service Station in the Ridgeville Area for a number of years. He was retired from King Pontiac Garage in Gaithersburg, MD. A member of Poplar Springs UM Church, Prudence Lodge #190 A.F. & A.M. in Mount Airy, MD Salt Water Fisherman’s Association. A Former member of the Mt. Airy Chapter #95 Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Anderson was also an avid Hunter and Fisherman.

Surviving him besides his wife are : Sons Larry W. and Wife Charlene Anderson of Monrovia and Fred A. and Wife Karen Anderson of Monrovia. Brother: Aleck Anderson, Jr. of Littlestown, PA and Sisters: Irma Anderson and Nettie Potts both of Hagerstown, Grandchildren: Richard, Daniel, and Amanda Anderson all of Monrovia Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers: James, Robert and William Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 11:00 Am at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren 13356 Glissans Mill Rd. Mt. Airy, MD 21771 with the Rev. Wallace “ Bud” Lusk and Rev. Charles Leger officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Grove cemetery.

The family will receive friends at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 PM where a Masonic Memorial Service will take place Tues. a t 7:30 PM.

David Curtis Wood
76, of Hanover, PA
1928 - 2004

David Curtis Wood, 76, of Hanover, PA, died suddenly December 12, 2004 in Baltimore from natural causes.

Born May 18, 1928 in Jackson, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Reverend William Curtis Wood and the late Lucie Mai Siler. He was the husband of Annette M. Wood for 54 years.

He was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering, the class of 1949 and a member of the alumni council for the University. He retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company in 1992 after working there thirty-nine years. He held a Professional Engineer License from the state of Maryland and was a life member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Active in his church at Glen Burnie Baptist, later Elders Baptist and most recently the First Baptist Church of Hanover, he served as a deacon for more than 50 years.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling the world since his retirement. In 2002 they moved to Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Sharon W. Schaeffer of Westminster, MD., Mary Jane Hilden of O’Fallen, Illinois, and Lisa W. Snyder of Leesburg, VA.; son David C. Wood II of Westminster, MD.; brothers Charles Wood of Silver Spring, MD and Dean Wood of Salisbury, MD.; and twelve grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday December 16, 2004 at Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg, MD with the Rev. Jim Edmonson officiating.

Interment Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.

Family and friends may call from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM on Wednesday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School).

Dolly Virginia Riley Brown, 66 of Westminster, MD, died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the spouse of Morris B. Brown, Sr.

She was born February 4, 1938 in Front Royal, VA the daughter of the late William Lee Riley and Late Fannie Lee Frazier Riley.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She loved dancing and music. She also liked playing Keno.

Surviving besides her husband are Children: Charlotte Patterson, Teressa Groff, Nancy Brown all of West Virginia and Morris Brown, Jr of Maryland.

Brothers and Sisters: JoAnn Harley of PA, Robert Riley of MD, James W. Riley of MD and half Sister Dorothy Thompson of MD. Grandchildren: Sarah and Brian Copoulos both of West Virginia and Adam Haines of MD and Great-grandson Dylan Armour of West Virginia.

Preceded in death are daughter Christine Brown and Great-grandson Kyle Copoulos.

Funeral Services will be held Monday November 1, 2004 8 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY.P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 . The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
