Larry “Wayne" Pickett, 58 of Ijamsville, MD formerly of Woodbine, died Tuesday September 6, 2005at his home in Ijamsville, MD
He was the son of the late Lawrence E. Pickett and the late J. Doris Pickett
Mr. Pickett was employed as a painter for Nickoles and Son. He was retired from Super Fresh in Frederick where he was the Seafood manager for 9 years.
He was a member of the NRA and loved hunting and fishing. At a younger age he liked to drag race and was a member of the Road Runner Club.
He was survived by Son: Michael Wayne Pickett of Hot Springs, Arkansas
Daughter: Brandi Leigh Pickett of Hot Springs, Arkansas Sister: Linda Reed of Washington DC Sister: Gail Reed and husband Ed Reed of Woodbine
Niece and nephew: Chuck Carroll of Woodbine and Judy Lynn Carroll of Winfield

Funeral Services will be held Friday September 9, 2005 2:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784
Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, Md
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

Kenneth Robert Flowers, 68 of Randallstown, MD, died Saturday July 23, 2005 at his home in Randallstown.
He was the spouse of the late Anita Rosemarie May Flowers. He was born November 14, 1938 in Hanover, PA the son of the late Emory Kenneth Flowers and Rita K. Trostle Flowers.
Mr. Flowers served in the Navy as an inactive Reservist.
He was a retired florist for Don Flowers in Randallstown .
Surviving are Son: Kenneth Robert Flowers, Jr. of Indiana, Son and Daughter-in-law Kevin and Aileen Flowers of Indiana. Grandchildren: Lauren Nicole, Madison Taylor, Joshua Colin and Robbie Flowers. Brothers: Tom, Gary, and Richard Flowers, Sisters: Beverly Mallonee, Sue Pearre, Diane White and Vickie Davidson.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday July 26, 2005 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the family receive friends at funeral home for 10AM until time of Service.
Interment will be in Mount Olive cemetery, Randallstown, MD
Joseph Eugene Cook
75, of Winfield, MD
1929 - 2005
Joseph Eugene Cook, 75, of Winfield, MD, died Monday January 31, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center after giving up his fight for life. Mr. Cook was born October 7, 1929 the 2nd of 10 children. He was the son of the late Edward Luther Cook and Eugenia Chase Cook. He was educated in Carroll County Schools He then ventured to Cooksville, MD for a short time. Then he moved to Winfield MD where he has spent most of his life until a few months when he became a resident at Continuum Care in Sykesville. Over the years Joe had multiple odd jobs including Sod Work, Farming and Cement and Black topping. His hobbies include; gardening, hunting and working with machinery.
He leaves behind his long time friend and companion Ms. Edna Bowman and their 2 Children Phyllis Elizabeth Cook and Joseph Eugene Cook, Jr. of Winfield. He also will live in memory of four of Ms. Bowman’s children: David Bowman, Donnie Bowman, Bobby Bowman and Ruth Bowman. Four Sisters: Carolyn Norris and Shirley Bracey of Sykesville, Annette King of Winfield and Mary Jones of Baltimore, 2 brothers: Edward Cook, Jr. and Melvin cook both of Sykesville. Also survived by 1 granddaughter Najree Williams 2 brother-in-laws, 3 Sister in-laws and a host of nieces nephews relatives and friends. He is predeceased by sister: Anna Smith, Brothers: William and Donald Cook and stepson Douglas Bowman
A special recognition goes to Mr. Earl Bowman who on a daily basis visited Joes home during his illness.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 5, 2005 at 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 . Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Taylorsville, MD .
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 Am until the time of service.

Lt. Col. (Ret. US Army) Joseph Anthony Zanghi, age 77, of Westminster, Died Monday February 14, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.
He was born September 30, 1927 in Mt. Morris, New York, the son of the late Philip Joseph Zanghi and the late Loretta Biondolillo Zanghi.
He was a retired Sales Manager for the Far East Division of International Sales for Hughes Helicopters. He served in the US Army and the US Navy. He was in Vietnam 1966-67 and 1972-1973.He received the Honorable Medal First Class (Rep. of China ), 2 honor medals, 1st Class (Rep. of V.N.), Legion of Merit; Bronze Star; participated in 2 operations Atomic Bomb Tests (1946 & 19948); served as POW Interrogator in Korea.
He attended Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg. He was a mason and a member of DAV #22 and VFW #467 Westminster . Interests were in World Affairs, History, China .
He was the husband of Isabel Zanghi (nee Toman) married
for 55 years.
He was the father of Howard F. Ferguson of Westminster and Heidi M. Peterson of Jacksonville, FL.
Dear brother of Mary Jane Gomez of Cleveland, Ohio and Anthony D’Andrea of Cleveland, Ohio .
Also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Jonathan N. Frans, 46 of Finksburg, MD died suddenly on Friday March 11, 2005 in Finksburg, MD. He was the spouse of 21 years of Roxanne M. Day Frans. He was born August 19, 1958 in Baltimore, MD the son of Yetta Weisberg Frans of Baltimore and the late Zoltan Joe Frans.
Mr. Frans was the owner and operator of Frans Automotive Service Center in Finksburg.
He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
Surviving are daughters and son-in-laws: Keri and Scott Hall of Crofton and Shelley and Casey Piscitelli of North Carolina . Grandchildren: Aidan and Cian Piscitelli, Brother and Sister-in-law Steve and Bea Frans. Sister and Brother-in-law Renee and Gary Rutstein also survived by several nephews.

Johanna A. Dryden (nee Forsterling), 85 of Sykesville, MD, died Wednesday November 30, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward N. Dryden.
She was born August 3, 1920 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late William Forsterling and late Henny Forsterling (nee Bolte).
She was a retired office manager from C&P / Bell Atlantic Telephone Company where she was employed for 28 years. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Sykesville, MD.
She is survived by cousin Hedy & John McGinnis of Sykesville. Also survived by Bonnie L. Miller and Gary P. McGinnis.

Jeremy Lee LaBare, age 34, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 6th, 2005 in Portland Tennessee . Jeremy was born on April 11, 1971 in Baltimore, Md. Jeremy is the beloved son of Leo and Kay LaBare of Ijamsville, MD and Sherri Marie Gloor of Louisville, Colorado . Jeremy is survived by his brothers Joshua LaBare of Santa Cruz, CA and James Grant LaBare of Ijamsville, MD, his sisters Jessica Grubb of St Louis, Mo and Julia Ann Kane of Clarksville TN. He is the grandson of Eleanor LaBare and the late Leo LaBare, Sr, Teresa Gloor and the late Robert Gloor, and Dean Moore and late James Moore. He is also survived by brothers-in-laws Robert Grubb and Shawn Kane, two nephews, and one niece.
Jeremy graduated from South Carroll High School in 1989 where he played soccer and ran high hurdles in track. He attended Warren Wilson College in North Carolina . Jeremy worked in construction. Jeremy will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness, and intelligence. All who knew him will miss him greatly.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Mission H.O.P.E. (Help Orphans Prepare for Eternity) a Damascus Road Community Church mission in the heart of the AIDS pandemic of sub-Sahara Africa . The orphanage known as Dumisani (Zulu for Praise God), is located outside of Memel, South Africa, and seeks to provide a loving home for children whose parents died of AIDs . He was born March 30, 1979 in Westminster, MD the son of Jeffrey L. and Sue Ann Constantine Harrison of Woodbine. Jered worked on the family farm. He enjoyed Hunting, Coon Jumping, Showing Mules, Playing Cards, Fishing, Boating and the Water.
Surviving him in addition to his parents are Grandparents: Paul F. and Dorothy C. Harrison, Sr. of Woodbine Sisters and brother-in-laws: Rachel and Eric Troppman of Woodbine and Elisha and Mark Iager of Fulton, MD : Also survived by nieces and nephews: Madison, Miranda, and Harrison Iager, Riley and Cody Troppman.

She was the spouse of the late F. Loring Byers.
Mrs. Byers was born June 8, 1908 in Baltimore County, MD the daughter of the late Louis G. Peppler and the late Minnie Peppler.
She along with her late husband were the original owner and founders of Loring Byers Funeral Directors, Inc. in Randallstown, MD
She was a former member of the Order the Easter Star #101 Woodlawn. Enjoyed Cooking and Artistic Painting and Traveling.
Surviving her are Children: Gene G. Armiger of Fort Worth, TX, and Nancy L. McKenney of Reisterstown, MD . Grandchildren: Karen Snell, Scott Armiger, Donna McCready, Donald Roberts, Jr., Julie Bell and Terrie O’Donnell. She is also survived by 12 Great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great niece.
