Irene B.”Granny” Gue (nee Porter), age 85, of Mt. Airy died Friday April 22, 2005 at her home.

She was born January 9, 1920 in Woodbine, Maryland the daughter of the late Ollie Porter and the late Mammie Porter (nee Green).

She was a clerk for Geico Insurance Company. Member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Mt. Airy. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She was the wife of the late James William Gue.

She was the mother of June I. Kilby of Westminster, Georgia V. Seals of Mt. Airy and Nancy A. Seals of Mt. Airy .

Dear sister of Elsie Conaway of Westminster, Myra Davis of Mt. Airy, Dollie Barnhart of Westminster, Jane Gartrell of Mt. Airy, and the late Andrew Porter, late Ruby Justice, Late Carroll Porter and late Margaret Bennett.

Loving Grandmother of Barbara Johnson of Westminster, Debbie Hartman of Westminster, Gene Seals of Sykesville, Renie Kilby of Churchston, MD and Heather Seals of Mt. Airy.

Great grandmother of Kayla, Tyler and Tessa Seals all of Sykesville and Deven, Hannaleigh Hartman both of Westminster .

Funeral Service will be Tuesday April 26, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Pastor Roger Rinker of Calvary Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy officiating.

Interment Poplar Springs cemetery

1931 - 2005

Henry Dent Willis, age 73, of Sykesville, Died Friday February 4, 2005 at his home.

He was born June 5, 1931 in Richmond, VA., the son of the late Rev. Henry Leslie Willis and the late Jovotte Dent Willis.

He was a Claims Adjuster/Supervisor for various Insurance Companies. He loved to hunt, fish and read and bird watching. He was a member of the National Rife Association. He served in the Navy from 6/18/48-8/17/50.

Beloved husband of Betsy Gay Willis married for 52 years

Devoted father of Valerie L. Wilhite of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Henry G. Willis of Canton, Georgia, and Guy David Willis of Navarre, FL.

Brother of Barbara Ann Murphy of Burgaw, NC .

Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

1918 - 2005

Henry August Bushman, 87 of Eldersburg, MD, died Friday December 23, 2005 at Senior Constant Care in Winfield.

He was the spouse of the late Hilda Flowers Buschman. He was born July 29, 1918 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Bernard Buschman and Late Elizabeth Wagner Buschman. And step-father the late Louis Wagner

Mr. Buschman worked as a Welder for Ward Machinery of Baltimore and Worked Part time for AAI Corporation in Hunt Valley .

Mr. Buschman served in the US Navy. He was a Diehard Orioles fan and loved to Smoke Cigars.

Surviving him are Son and Daughter-in-law: Henry J. and Karen Buschman of Eldersburg, Grandchildren: Mark and Eric Buschman of Eldersburg, Rebecca and Bernadette Allen of Baltimore . Preceded in death by brothers: Charles and John “Bernie” Buschman and Daughter the late Sharon Buschman

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday December 27, 2005 at 10 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 . With the Rev. Charles Main officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM

Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens

Hartsel S. Hawkins
92, of Winfield, MD
1912 - 2005

Hartsel S. Hawkins, age 92, of Winfield, died Wednesday February 23, 2005, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.

He was born October 24, 1912 in Waynesville, North Carolina the son of the late John A. Hawkins and the late Amelia K. Hawkins (nee Sparks ).

He was the husband of the late Martha N. Hawkins.

He was a Retired Stationary Engineer for Springfield State Hospital . Also worked as an engineer for Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick and at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home in Winfield. He drove a School Bus for numerous years for the Carroll County Public School System. He was a member of the Taylorsville-Winfield Lions Club. He was a member of Ebenezer U.M. Church in Woodbine.

Devoted father of Alma Summerfield of Missouri, Hartsel R. Hawkins of Virginia, Vivian Davis of Georgia, Dorothy M. Tibbs of Florida, Joanne Mullineaux of South Carolina, Roger Hawkins of North Carolina, Vicki Gover of Odenton, Linda Gibson of Taneytown and the late Larry F. Hawkins and the late Darrell H. Hawkins.

Dear brother of Clarence Hawkins of Westminster and Margaret Ridgely of Eldersburg.

Also survived by 34 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Sunday February 27, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Fred Eckhardt officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park .

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Taylorsville -Winfield Lions Club Memorial Service will be Saturday at 7:30 PM.

Harold Kent Harris, Sr., age 64, of Mt. Airy, formerly of Unionville, died Monday December 26, 2005 at Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center in Frederick, MD.

He was born February 14, 1941 in Woodsboro, MD the son of the late Scott David Harris and the late Irene Jenkins Harris.

He worked for the Frederick Housing Authority as a maintenance plumber. He was a part time farmer.

He was the father of Roxanne Harris Slick and husband Robert of Unionville, and Harold K. Harris, Jr. and Deborah of Woodsboro.

Three grandsons: Michael Harris, Andrew Harris and Sean Harris of Woodsboro.

Brother of James Harris of Rocky Ridge, Thelma Michaels of Emmitsburg, Wilson Harris of Eastern Shore, Wanda May of Timberville, VA, Glen Harris of Frederick, Martha Cooley of Frederick and the late Homer David Harris, late Iva May Koontz and late Florabelle Nusbaum.

Funeral Service will be held Friday December 30, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School), with Rev. L. Ross Kirk officiating.

Interment will be in Rocky Hill cemetery, Woodsboro, MD.

Guy R. Farver, age 84, of Sykesville, Died Friday February 11, 2005 at Continuum Care @ Sykesville.

He was the son of the late Riley Lee Farver and the late Algy Farver (nee Harrison).

He was born March 3, 1920 in Woodbine, MD.

He was an Engineer at Springfield State Hospital for 30 years.

He was the husband of Margaret L. Farver (nee Atkinson), which she will be at the funeral home during the 2-4 PM visitation on Sunday.

He was the father of Donald Farver of Reisterstown and Barbara F. Owens of Sykesville.

Loving grandfather of Ryan Owens, Shawn Farver and Shannon Farver.

Funeral Service will be held Monday February 14, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.

He was born April 29, 1968 in Baltimore, MD the son of Grace C. Tracy (nee McCall) of Randallstown and the late Ronald B. Tracy.

He was a plumber for Blue Dot. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
