KEITH BRIAN SAWYERS, 42, of 17952 Garden Lane, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, April 26, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born August 1, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Carroll Sawyers and Beverly Fleishman French, and step-father, John L. French, Sr. all of Baltimore.
He was a 1979 graduate of Brooklyn Park High School in Baltimore.
He had been employed by Washington County Hospital for 11 years.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Amanda Sawyers of Martinsburg, W. Va.; his twin sister, Cindy Rosenthal of Charlotte, North Carolina;A brother, Robert Sawyers of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a paternal grandmother, Zera Sawyers of Glen Burnie, Md. and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004 at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

William Lewis Fischer
Born in Washington County, MD on Dec. 22, 1927

WILLIAM LEWIS FISCHER, SR., 76, of West Lawn Lane, Hagerstown, Md. died on Wednesday April 28, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born December 22, 1927 in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Louis Walter Fischer and Julia Ann Ambrose Chaney
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was employed by Sealtest Ice Cream for 22 years and retired from Sunnyway Foods.
He was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of God and a former member of Bethel Assembly of God
He was a member of the Williamsport American Legion, Post #202.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Duvall Fischer; two sons, Paul E. Fischer of Hagerstown and William L. Fischer, Jr. of Falling Waters; four sisters, Ruth Walters and Esther Meyers both of Williamsport, MD., Isabelle Miller and Naomi Pfeltz both of Topping, VA.; two brothers, George Fischer of Berkeley Springs, W.WA. and Charles Fischer of Williamsport; a grandson, Michael A. Fischer of Falling Waters and two great grandchildren, Erika Fischer and Jordan Fischer both of Falling Waters.
He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Helen Fischer and two brothers, Robert Fischer and Clarence Fischer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Dr. A. Paul Harne and Rev. Robert Revell will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00-9:00pm at the funeral home.

Evelyn Elizabeth Viands

EVELYN ELIZABETH VIANDS, 82, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at the Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born March 25, 1923 in Washington County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ada Griffith Dunahugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Elwood Viands on January 16, 1997.
She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Wayne Burger of Hagerstown, and Stephen Brent Viands of South Carolina; and three brothers, Nelson Dunahugh and Paul Dunahugh, both of Falling Waters, West Virginia, and Robert Dunahugh of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dana Elwood Viands; two sisters, Mildred Keller, and Carlita Bowman; and one brother, Raymond Dunahugh.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. James Fowler will officiate.
Family will receive friends at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Friday from 6 to 8 p. m.

LINDA LEE BELL, 59, of 16931 Alcott Road, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport, Maryland.
Born January 29, 1946 in Winchester, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Pfeiffer, and Nellie Curry Pfeiffer Strite.
She was a proof reader with Doubleday & Company publishers.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Bell; one son, Robert M. Bell of Hagerstown; one brother, Donald Pfeiffer of Biddeford, Maine; one granddaughter, Megan Bell, at home; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Jane Garman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. John C. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 22 from 7:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Frances Louise Ditmer
FRANCES LOUISE DITMER, 88, of 206 Sunbrook Lane, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born November 9, 1916 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Jenny Klinefelter Carpenter.
She was a member of the Christ Reformed Church.
She was a member of the Broadfording Homemakers Club, and was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, John A. Ditmer; two sons, Lawrence A. Ditmer of Hagerstown, and Dennis J. Ditmer of State College, Pennsylvania; one brother, Robert L. Carpenter of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Samuel Martin Foltz

SAMUEL MARTIN FOLTZ, 60, of 852 West Irvin Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born June 29, 1944 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Connie L. Martin Foltz of Hagerstown, and the late Samuel Morin Foltz.
He was employed with Shifler Equipment.
He was a former member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff Foltz, and David Foltz, both of Hagerstown, and three granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Friday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m.

JUNE M. LUSHBAUGH, 88, of 404 Liberty Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care in Baltimore, Maryland.
Born in Hagerstown on November 12, 1916, she was a daughter of the late W. Earl and Mae E. Bowers. Her husband, Fred L. Lushbaugh preceded her in death on March 8, 1967.
She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.
Mrs. Lushbaugh was retired from F. W. Woolworth Company where she was employed for 32 years in retail sales. Following retirement, she enjoyed volunteer service at Washington County Hospital where she gave 17, 000 hours working as an auxilian. She also contributed many volunteer hours at Ravenwood Nursing Center and was a board member of Friends of Ravenwood. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, where she participated in many activities. She was a 50 year member of the Chancel Choir, worked as a communion steward, chaired the Altar Guild, served on many committees, was President of the Women of the Church organization, and a regular attendee of the prayer group. She was also a member of the Maryland Christian Endeavor Alumni Association, and traveled to conventions throughout the United States and Europe as a youth chaperone and delegate.
Mrs. Lushbaugh is survived by two sisters, Beatrice M. Dunn of Phoenix, Arizona, and Lois M. Wolford of Hagerstown, Maryland; by her children, Gary L. Lushbaugh, and Bonnie J. Lushbaugh, both of Baltimore, Maryland; and her daughter-in-law, E. Joy Lushbaugh of Hagerstown. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She had a special fondness for her great-niece and great-nephew, Amy and Matthew Wright.
Friends may call at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Sunday from 3 to 5 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m., and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Avenue, Hagerstown on Monday at 11:00 a. m. Rev. Raymond H. Shriver and Rev. Dr. Roberta Scoville will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Ravenwood, 1183 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740, or the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, 251 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.

JUNE M. SPARKS, 65, of Newburgh, Indiana, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at VNA Hospice Charlier Center.
She served 11 years as the Maryland State Advisor for the March of Dimes Birth Defects Division. She was also a former Field Advisor for the Shawnee Girl Scout Council in Maryland.
June was a former member of the Maryland State Committee on Adolescent Pregnancy Parenting and Prevention. She also served 2 terms on the Executive Council of the Maryland Synod E. L. C. A.
She was a member of the Conomac Lioness Club. She was also a past member of Haven Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, Maryland.
June had worked as a nurse for Perry Point V. A. Hospital in Perry Point, Maryland; Avalon Manor in Hagerstown; Martinsburg V. A. Hospital in Martinsburg, W. Va.; City Hospital in Martinsburg, W. Va.; Hartland of Martinsburg in Martinsburg, W. Va.; Highland Hospital in Ashville, N. C.; Charter Hospital in Evansville; and the Symphony Home Health Care in Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Wayne Sparks on April 10, 2005.
June is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Eppens, and husband, Kenneth, of Stanton, California; half-sister, Sandy Nixon of Oakhill, Florida; half-brothers, Doug Rebman of Swansboro, N. C. and Jeff Rebman of Belleville, OH.
Services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, with Rev. Roland Hobbs officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown. Friends may call Friday, May 6, 2005 from 7 to 9 p. m. at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes, 111 George Street, Cumberland, Md. 21502.

She had been employed with Attorney Leo H. Miller and later with Miller, Miller and Kuczynski.
She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Brewer and husband Jay of Morehead City, North Carolina; a son, Richard A. Pryor and wife Barb of Hagerstown; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.
She was preceded in death by a son, James M. Pryor and a foster brother, Carl F. Stover.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Jay Fretz and Rev. Randall Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
