Mr. Sharkey Edward Poole Jr.
Mr. Sharkey Edward Poole, Jr., age 50, died Tuesday,
January 15, 2013 at his home in Mount Airy, Maryland. He
was the beloved husband of Denise M. Poole his wife of 31
years. Born July 12, 1962 in Olney, Maryland he was the son
of Sharkey E. Sr., and Bertha Burdette Poole.
Mr. Poole worked 28 years for Montgomery County Department of Highways.
Before retirement he was chief foreman at the Damascus Depot. He went on
to work 7 more years for Montgomery County Public Schools, Maintenance
Department. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, NASCAR, NFL and
spending time with his two granddaughters.
Surviving besides his wife, and parents, are two children: Sharkey E. Poole
III, and wife Sarah of Westminster; and Ashley M. Hodge and husband
Michael of Frederick. Two granddaughters: Cadence L. Poole and Nola M.
Hodge; a sister Patty J. Kusmiskis and husband Richard of Gaithersburg, and
a half-sister Pam Okandy and husband Bob of Florida.
Friends may call 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 17, at MolesworthWilliams
P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland.
Graveside funeral services and interment will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday,
January 18 at Boyds Presbyterian cemetery, 1901 White Grounds Road,
Boyds, Maryland 20841 with Reverend Merritt Ednie officiating.

Mrs. Leona B. Rowlen
Mrs. Leona B. Rowlen of Mount Airy, MD, better known as
"Nina," passed away surrounded by family on January 17,
2013, at the Lorien Mount Airy Nursing Home after a long,
courageous battle with cancer.
Nina is survived by her three daughters, Norma Jo Douglas
(Noel), Ann Strope (Mark) and Virginia Dale Phillips; her
step-daughter, Beth Rowlen; her grandchildren, Sherri DePollar, Steven
DePollar (Jenny), Tony Strope, and Richard Strope; her step-grandchildren,
Jason Cunio, Dobbie Douglas, and O'Neil Douglas; her great-grandchildren,
Taylor Ann Strope, Kyle DePollar, Christian DePollar, Danielle DePollar and
Kai DePollar; her step-great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lauryn PattersonDouglas;
her niece, Ramona Sachs (Gerald); and a host of other relatives
and friends.
Nina was born in Calera, AL, on March 24, 1929. When she was a teenager,
her family moved to Lebanon, KY, where she met and married Joseph C.
Phillips. The couple were members of the Lebanon United Presbyterian
Church, where Nina sang in the choir, was an Elder, Sunday school teacher,
and President of The Women of the Church. In 1958, the couple packed up
with their three daughters and moved to the Washington, DC, Metropolitan
area. Many things have transpired during the years between 1958 and
today. In 1963, Nina was widowed. She was remarried and widowed again
twice over the years; she raised her children; she cared for her aging
parents; and she continued to be a kind and giving person, always taking
care of others' needs wherever she found a calling. Nina was a devout
Christian and was active in several churches over the years before she found
her final church home at the Mount Airy Presbyterian Church in 1996, where
she made many close friends and found and lent amazing strength and
support.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Lee and Annie Mae
Brown; her brother, Norman Brown, Jr.; her three loving husbands, Joseph
Phillips, Jack Cunio, and Jessie Rowlen; her grandson, Christopher Strope,
and her step-son, Michael Cunio.
A homecoming service will be held at the Mount Airy Presbyterian Church at
17455 Old Frederick Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771, on Monday, January 21,
at
11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Ryder cemetery in Lebanon, KY.
Arrangements are being handled by the Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home
in Damascus, MD, and Bosley's Funeral Home in Lebanon, KY. The family
would like to thank everyone for their many expressions of sympathy and
her Mount Airy Presbyterian Church family for their continued love and
support now and during her illness.

Roy M. Waldt, Jr.
Mr. Roy M. Waldt, Jr., age 64, of New Windsor, Maryland, and a former
longtime resident of Mount Airy, Maryland, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at
Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rebecca M.
Waldt his wife of 40 years.
Born June 6, 1948 in Washington D.C., he was a son of the late Roy Milton
Sr., and Betty Wood Waldt. Roy was a 1966 graduate of Our Lady of Good
Counsel High School in Wheaton, Md. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and
was a decorated Vietnam veteran. Surviving besides his wife, is a son Bryan
C. Waldt of New Windsor; and a brother Eric F. Waldt.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 24, at Molesworth-Williams
P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872. Funeral
services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven cemetery, Silver Spring, Md.

Jerry D. Pearre
Mr. Jerry D. Pearre, 59, of Clarksburg, Maryland died
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Shady Grove Adventist
Hospital in Rockville.
He was the loving husband of Elaine E. Pearre, his wife
of 27 years.
Born April 29, 1953 in Frederick, Maryland, and raised
in Thompson's Corner area of Clarksburg, he was a son of the late Emmett
R. and Lucille Hawkins Pearre.
Jerry owned and operated Sugarloaf HVACR Inc. for 16 years. He was a past
member of Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Dept., and a longtime friend to Urbana
Fire Department. He had a great love for being outdoors, and was an avid
hunter and fisherman. Jerry was a diehard NASCAR and Dale Jr. fan. He
loved riding his Harley with friends; and he was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many people.
Surviving besides his wife are five children: Joshua D. Pearre and wife
Ashley; Bo W. Pearre and fiancé Amy; Dustie R. Cope and husband Tanner;
Josie E. Clark and husband Aaron; and Wyatt C. Pearre. Three
grandchildren: Maverick Pearre, Clyde Pearre and Lane Cope; and six
brothers and sisters: Emmett Pearre, Jr. and Wife Ann of Frederick; Molly
Geisbert of Clarksburg; Larry Pearre and wife Nancy of Ijamsville; Sally
Thompson of Clarksburg, Denny Pearre of Thurmont; and Donna Gordon and
husband Eddie of Damascus. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at MolesworthWilliams
P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD. Funeral
services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Clarksburg United
Methodist Church, 23425 Spire St., Clarksburg, MD 20871. Entombment will
follow in Mount Olivet cemetery Mausoleum, Frederick, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to
the Jerry D. Pearre Memorial Fund, In Care of Damascus Community Bank,
P.O. Box 1, Damascus, MD 20872.

Mr. Paul Fitzgibbons
Mr. Paul Eugene Fitzgibbons, 46, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his residence. He
was the husband of Mrs. Denise M. Fitzgibbons, his wife of 15 years.
Born June 11, 1962, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Mr. Eugene G. Fitzgibbons of Frederick
and of the late Patricia Flanagan Fitzgibbons. He was a 1980 graduate of Albert Einstein High
School, Kensington.
For many years, Mr. Fitzgibbons worked as a sales executive.
In addition to being a parishioner of St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, Paul was
a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also very active with his son's sporting activities,
wrestling and football. Consequently, he was a member of MAYAA, the Mount Airy Youth Athletics
Association.
Besides his wife and father, Paul is survived by two children at home, Ryan Paul and Diana
Catherine Fitzgibbons; sisters, Agnes Diaz of Silver Spring and Sharon Hudson of Frederick; as well
as numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at the MolesworthWilliams
Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. A Christian Wake Service will be offered at
4:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m.
Friday, July 18, from his church, St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, 1200 St. Michaels Road,
Mount Airy. Rev. Michael Ruane will offer prayers. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the
family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Family Resiliency Center, in
care of the Fitzgibbons Family Fund, 2000 Century Plaza, Suite 121, Columbia MD 21044.

Kurt Steven Neubauer
Kurt Steven Neubauer, age 20, of Mount Airy, MD, died
suddenly on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was the son of
Steven Neubauer, Christine Gallupe Neubauer and stepmother,
Denise Rohe Neubauer.
He is survived by his brother Tyler Neubauer and
stepsister, Kaira Reel, of Mount Airy; his grandfather,
Gary Gallupe and his partner Maureen Ballinger of
Belleair, FL; and his grandmother Alyce McKinley and her husband Herb
McKinley of Freehold, NJ. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Kurt graduated from Urbana High School in 2011 and was currently studying
physics and engineering at Salisbury University. Upon completion of his
junior year at Salisbury he planned to transfer to the University of Maryland
to complete his Engineering degree.
Kurt loved his family and enjoyed skiing, 4-wheeling and spending time with
his pup Griffin. Kurt was a very kind, considerate and loyal person. He is
loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends 3-5 & 7-9 p.m., Friday, June 28 at Molesworth
Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Funeral
services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 29 at Redeemer Lutheran
Church, 27015 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Interment will be private.

Mrs. June Everman McCreery
Mrs. June Everman McCreery, 88, of Frederick, died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Washington
Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. She was the wife of the late Charles Edwin McCreery, who
preceded her in death in September 1992.
Born on October 1, 1919, in Flemingsburg, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Arthur Allen and
Sara Margaret Sturgil Everman. For undergraduate studies, June attended Huntington College in
Indiana; and attained her Master's degree from Hood College, Frederick.
June taught school for 30 years in Mount Airy with the Carroll County Public Schools, and was a
devoted and active member of Damascus United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Terry Caveney of Williamsburg, Va., Myrna McCreery of Apache
Junction, Ariz., and Maralee Jill McCreery of Frederick; six grandchildren, Fawn Caveney of Boise,
Idaho, Heather Domangue of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robin Caveney of Silver Spring, and Forest
Caveney of Ann Arbor, Mich., Brendan Bowie of Apache Junction, Ariz., Kaitlyn Skye and Jesse Daye
Delph, both of Frederick; as well as four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wynona Ridgeway of St.
Joe, Mich., and Eileen Dwyer of Greenfield, Ohio.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
The Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, Damascus is handling the arrangements. There will not be
calling at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at her church,
Damascus United Methodist Church, Damascus. The family will receive friends at the church
beginning at 2 p.m. until time of services.
Interment will follow services in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Damascus United Methodist
Church, 9700 New Church St., Damascus, MD 20872.

Mrs. Elizabeth Helen Pinckney
Mrs. Elizabeth Helen Pinckney 71, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, died
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 , at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital,
Rockville, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of Thomas B. Pinckney.
Born August 10, 1940 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late
Samuel Fitzsimmons and Isobel McNealis Wright.
Mrs. Pinckney was a very active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in
Damascus. She served as a Eucharistic Minister; a member of the Hope
Committee and the Catholic Daughters.
Surviving besides her husband is a daughter Carole Pinckney; a sister Agnes
Traynor and two brothers Peter Wright and Matthew Wright. She is
preceded in death by her son Alister Wright Pinckney and two sisters Joyce
Wermerling and Isobel Reid.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Joseph B. Pierce, 11:00
a.m., Tuesday, January 31, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus
Road, Damascus, Md. Interment was in Gate of Heaven cemetery, Silver
Spring, Md.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made
to the American Cancer Society, 11331 Amherst Avenue, Silver Spring,
Maryland 20902. Please indicate on your donation it is in memory of
Elizabeth Pinckney.
