A memorial service will be held at Ashton United Methodist Church 17314 New Hampshire Avenue, Methodist, on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. Interment Private. LEONARD JOSEPH FAINA (Age 85)

On Monday, June 15, 2009, of Morningside House, Ellicott City, MD. Beloved husband of the late Faye Burton Faina for 56 years; devoted father of Donna Faina-Simonds, Sharon Faina-Kurdziel and the late Leonard J. Faina, Jr.; brother of Irene E. Burgess and the late Thelma Lyons. Also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews and countless friends. Detective of the Metropolitan Police Department, Juvenile Division in Washington, DC, retired in 1970 from an injury in the line of duty. Lifetime member of Police Association of Washington, DC and member of Association of Retired Police Officers. Honorary Life membership with the Knights of Columbus, Rosensteel Chapter. Veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, honorably discharged in 1946. Member of the Boveglio Club organized in 1928.
