Mr. Richard Kline

Mr. Richard C. Kline, 74, of Harp Hill Road, Wolfsville, died Monday, May 20, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was the husband of Erma J. Kline.

Born March 3, 1928, in Wolfsville, he was the son of the late Merle R. and Mary E. Delauter Kline.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was employed by C&W Construction Company, Smithsburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary A. Kline of Boonsboro, and Linda S. Mann of Rohrersville; one son, Richard C. Kline Jr. of Myersville; four sisters, Dorothy Harshman of Frederick, Nancy Warrenfeltz of Smithsburg, Peggy Frushour of Wolfsville, and Doris Reel of Hagerstown; two brothers, Gene Kline of Sharpsburg, and Howard Kline of New Market, Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Wiles; and two brothers, Gareth Kline and Maynard Kline.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 24, at the funeral home with Pastor Edward Wade officiating.

Interment will be in St. Mark's Lutheran cemetery, Wolfsville.

Mr. Joseph Wilhide Sr.
Dated: Thursday, May 23, 2002.
Mr. Joseph Charles Holcraft Wilhide Sr., 86, of Sharpsburg, formerly of Frederick, died Tuesday, May 21, at Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro.

He was the husband of Georgia May Wilhide, who died Sept. 23, 2001.

Born Aug. 22, 1915, in Thurmont, he was a son of the late Ernest C. Sr. and Mabel E. Long Wilhide.

Mr. Wilhide worked at Fort Detrick for a number of years. He then owned and operated several service stations in Frederick, including Avalon on East Street and the Crown station on Patrick Street. He then worked for Shipley Bottling Company, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of the Frederick Republican Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge.

Surviving are one son, Joseph C. Wilhide Jr. and wife Linda of Sharpsburg; one brother, Paul Wilhide and wife Laura of Walkersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilhide was preceded in death by one grandson, Brent Joseph Wilhide; and four brothers and sisters, Pauline Molesworth, Sarah Doody, Ernest C. Wilhide Jr. and Jay Wilhide.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, in Mount Olivet cemetery, with the Rev. Darrell Strite, of New Life Fellowship Church, Sharpsburg, officiating.

Mr. Harry Dutko
Dated: Thursday, May 23, 2002.
Mr. Harry A. Dutko, 67, of Poolesville, died Tuesday, May 21, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

He was the husband of Carol Ann Dutko, his wife of 27 years.

Born April 28, 1935, in Scranton, Pa., he was a son of the late Harry A. and Mary Brogan Dutko.

Mr. Dutko was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Barnesville, for 23 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 6901; belonged to the University of Notre Dame Alumni; and volunteered at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital for nine years.

Before retirement, Mr. Dutko had worked at International Business Machines and was a member of the IBM Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his brother- and sister-in-law, Thomas and Myrna Allder of Oxon Hill; two nephews, Thomas and Matthew; and one niece, Elizabeth.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20017.

Mrs. Patricia Shaw
Dated: Thursday, May 23, 2002.
Mrs. Patricia M. Shaw, 50, of Germantown, died Tuesday, May 21, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

She was the wife of James Edward Johns.

Born Feb. 5, 1952, in Bethesda, she was a daughter of the late Ralph McPeak and Eunice Montgomery Lawson.

Mrs. Shaw was a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Bethesda.

She was employed as a complaint inspector for Asplundh Tree Service.

Mrs. Shaw was an avid Bingo player and loved to cook.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Traci S. Gravely of Germantown, Timothy James Shaw of Dickerson, and Richard L. Shaw of Dickerson; and four grandchildren, Kenneth and Shania Gravely, both of Germantown, Austin Shaw of Poolesville, and Alyssa Shaw of Dickerson.

Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by one grandchild, Kaci Lynn Shaw.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24. The Rev. Merritt Ednie, of Boyds Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville.

Contributions may be made to Mrs. Shaw's husband, James Johns, 18701 Curry Powder Lane, Germantown, Md. 20874.

Mr. Joe Vennari
Dated: Thursday, May 23, 2002.
Mr. Joe Vennari, 37, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Sunday, May 19, at his home.

Born Sept. 5, 1964, in Baltimore, he was a son of Alexander D. Vennari of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Sue Vennari-Green of Point of Rocks.

Mr. Vennari worked as a salesman at Dan Ryan Builders, Martinsburg.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Michael Vennari of Charlotte, N.C., and Nick Vennari of Stuart, Fla.; and his grandfather, Dale Wagner of Clarksburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 27 Melvin Ave., Catonsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dyusrophy Foundation, 8501 LaSalle Road, Towson, Md. 21286.

Mr. Guy Ramsburg Jr.
Dated: Friday, May 24, 2002.
Mr. Guy Roelkey "Rabbitt" Ramsburg Jr., 81, of 10123-A Old Liberty Road, Frederick, died Wednesday, May 22, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Mrs. M. Ethel Young Ramsburg, whom he married May 25, 1946.

Born Aug. 13, 1920, in Harmony Grove, he was a son of the late Guy Roelkey Sr. and Ethel Summers Ramsburg.

Mr. Ramsburg had worked in the feed and poultry business in Harmony Grove and for many years owned and operated Arcade Bowling Lanes in Frederick.

He was a member of Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, Frederick, the Frederick County Fish and Game Protective Association and the Frederick County Agriculture Society. He was an avid hunter and sportsman.

Mr. Ramsburg was active as a young man and played and managed fast pitch softball. He played with the Dr. Pepper team from 1940 to 1956, and played with the Baltimore Democratic team for four years and had played in four world tournaments. He also had played on and managed the Ijamsville team.

He worked as scout for the New York Giants in 1965 and for many years to follow.

Also in 1965, he was inducted into the Maryland Softball Hall of Fame in Baltimore and was inducted into the Alvin G. Quinn Hall of Fame in Frederick in 1978.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Thomas S. Ramsburg and wife Nancy of Frederick; a granddaughter, Sherry Marie Summers and husband James E. Jr. of Frederick; and an uncle, G. Maynard Summers and wife Mary, also of Frederick.

Mr. Ramsburg was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Alexa Marie Summers, who died Oct. 17, 2000.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The family will receive friends there from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the funeral home, with his pastor, the Rev. Frederick A. Wenner of the Evangelical Reformed Church, Frederick, officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

Memorial contributions may be made to H.F.C. Kline House, c/o Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, Md. 21705.

Mrs. Dorothy Jacobs
Dated: Friday, May 24, 2002.
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jacobs, 81, of 9029 Bethel Road, Frederick, died Wednesday, May 22, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of Daniel C. Jacobs.

Born Jan. 29, 1921, in Bethel, Mrs. Jacobs was a daughter of the late Walter G. and Mary Reuyann Keyser Clem.

She had been employed for a number of years by Parsons Department Store in downtown Frederick, as a manager in the children's department.

Mrs. Jacobs was a member of First Baptist Church, and the Golden Circle Sunday school class.

She was a life member of the auxiliary at Frederick Memorial Hospital; a charter member of the auxiliary at Citizens Nursing Home; and a member of the auxiliary at Montevue Home of Frederick County.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, JoAnn Yingling and husband Harvey of Frederick; a grandson, William H. Yingling Jr. and wife Darlene of Sarasota, Fla.; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Raina Zambia, Michael MacDermott and Victorious Garcia; two brothers, Walter H. Clem Jr. of Frederick and David Clem of Greenville, N.C.; two sisters, Betty Cannon and Margaret Dutrow, both of Frederick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Jacobs Jr., in September 1971; and her sister, Mildred Cain.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Larry L. Eubanks, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Frederick, will officiate.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 217 Dill Ave., Frederick, Md. 21701.

The Rev. Bruce Ramsburg
Dated: Friday, May 24, 2002.
The Rev. Bruce Allen Ramsburg, 87, of Northampton Manor, Frederick, died Thursday, May 23, at the nursing home.

He was the husband of Effie Susannah Stull Ramsburg, who resides at Northampton Manor.

Born Sept. 4, 1914, near Walkersville, he was the son of the late Allen Bruce and Lilly Stull Ramsburg.

The Rev. Ramsburg began life as a farmer in Walkersville on one of the family farms on Dublin Road. In 1940, he and Mrs. Ramsburg purchased and moved to a farm east of Libertytown, where he farmed until 1968. The Rev. Ramsburg was recognized in the farming community for his ideas, which included contour strip tilling and round hay baling. He operated his own custom farming business as well as a sawmill.

In 1968, he gave up farming for health reasons, and returned to college and the seminary. He entered the ministry for the United Methodist Church. He was ordained at the National Cathedral as a minister in 1970.

The Rev. Ramsburg served three parishes, New Market (including Mount Cannel and Central), Hampstead and Landsdowne, before accepting partial retirement as a pastoral assistant at Glyndon United Methodist Church.

Prior to total retirement in 1998, the Rev. Ramsburg served as chaplain at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Homewood Retirement Center and Reeder's Nursing Home in Boonsboro.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Robert S. Ramsburg and wife Nola of Walkersville, and Richard A. Ramsburg and wife Margaret of Libertytown; three grandchildren, Michael Ramsburg and wife Rhonda, James Ramsburg and wife Susan Knapp, all of Walkersville, and Elizabeth Ramsburg-Vratsanos and husband George of North Branford, Conn.; two great-grandsons, Christopher and Justin Ramsburg; one sister, Ella Rinehart and husband James of Walkersville; and sister-in-law, Mary Alice Ramsburg of Woodsboro.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Howard Ramsburg, who died in October 1969; a brother, Walter Ramsburg; and a sister, Edith Ramsburg Eppley Masser.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2: 30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at Linganore United Methodist Church, Unionville. The Rev. Darryl Zoller assisted by the Rev. Kenneth Tyson, will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., prior to the service on Sunday, May 26, at Linganore United Methodist Church, Unionville.

Interment will be in Linganore United Methodist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Board of Child Care of the United Methodist Church, 3300 Gaither Road, Baltimore, Md. 21244; or to the Music Ministry of the Linganore United Methodist Church, 8921 Clemsonville Road, Union Bridge, Md. 21791.
