Mrs. Clara Willard
Dated: Thursday, June 13, 2002.
Mrs. Clara Viola Willard, 94, of 5159 Doubs Road, Adamstown, died Tuesday, June 11, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Charles Preston Willard Sr., who died April 1957.

Born May 1, 1908, at Greenfield, she was a daughter of the late Vernon E. and Oddie Manzella Keller Baker.

Mrs. Willard had served as a domestic companion for the Lease Bussard family for many years.

She had attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church at Doubs for many years, and was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and the Frederick Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda Ann Stone and husband Harrison of Doubs; three brothers, William Baker of Frederick, Paul Baker of Arizona, and Bennie Baker of Winchester, Va.; one sister, Pauline Blevins of Frederick; four grandchildren, Pamela Hanes and husband Norman, Robert Willard, Lisa Shaffer and husband Donald, and Lora Howard and husband Richie; 10 great-grandchildren, Brian Hanes and wife Heidi, Kelly Llewellyn and husband Gary, Kesha, Dustin and Chelsea Shaffer, Cody, Brianna and Maya Howard, Charles P. Willard IV, and Heather Willard; three great-great-grandchildren, Tyler Hanes, MaKenzie Llewellyn and Chloe Hanes; and a number of nieces and nephews, including nephew, Arthur T. Baker of Brunswick.

She will be remembered by her friend, Joan Hiner of Monrovia; and her godson, Kyle Hildebrand of Adamstown.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Preston Willard Jr. and Edward Vernon Willard; and one grandson, Charles Preston Willard III.

The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, on Thursday, June 13, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Marina C. Flores, pastor of St. Marks Lutheran Church at Doubs, and the Rev. Jimmy Inman, pastor of the Berean Baptist Church of Frederick County, officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5132 Doubs Road, Adamstown, Md. 21710.

Mr. Milton Harvey
Dated: Thursday, June 13, 2002.
Mr. Milton Howard Harvey, 45, of Federal Avenue, Emmitsburg, died Tuesday, June 11, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born April 24, 1957, in Baltimore, he was a son of Milton and Dorothy Mae Wetzel Harvey of Emmitsburg.

He served in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard.

He was a security guard for a number of businesses in the Baltimore area.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Betty Mae Bishop of Swansboro, N.C.; and one brother, Robert Lee Hood of Baltimore.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 14, in Cedar Hill cemetery, 5829 Governor Ritchie Highway, Baltimore, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart officiating.

Arrangements are by Skiles Funeral Home, Emmitsburg.

Mr. Randy Parrish
Dated: Thursday, June 13, 2002.
Mr. Randy Lee Parrish, 30, of Taneytown, died suddenly Tuesday, June 11, near Taneytown

Born April 3, 1972, in Hanover, Pa., he was a son of Kelly Ricketts Bollinger of Union Bridge, and the late William Roger Parrish.

He was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Union Bridge, He attended Uniontown Bible Church, Uniontown.

He served in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm in operations support. He was stationed at Rhein-Main Air Force Base in Germany. He worked as a site engineer in construction and was employed by Culbertson Inc., Glen Burnie, at the time of his death.

Surviving in addition to his mother are one daughter, Kailey Jean Parrish of Westminster; his stepfather, Gary Bollinger of Union Bridge; one brother, Tony Parrish of Union Bridge; two stepbrothers, Michael Parrish Ott and Robert Bollinger, both of Taneytown; one stepsister, Jennifer Burns of Woodlawn; and paternal grandmother, Janet Parrish of Taneytown.

He will be remembered by his friend, Laura Duncan of Westminster.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Maurice Parrish and Forrest and Emily Ricketts.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Francis Scott Key High School Auditorium, 3825 Bark Hill Road, Union Bridge. The Rev. Tim Webster will officiate, assisted by Pastors Bob Kimmell and Bob Goldsmith.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

A fund is being established for Mr. Parrish's daughter Kailey. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Kelly Bollinger, 324 Clear Ridge Road, Union Bridge, Md. 21791.

Interment will be in Grace United Church of Christ cemetery, Taneytown.

Mr. Thomas Altman
Dated: Thursday, June 13, 2002.
Mr. Thomas Jacob Altman, 95, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 11, at Beverly Healthcare Center, Hagerstown.

Born March 1, 1907, in Frederick County, he was a son of the late George Peter and Mary Malinda Wachter Altman.

Mr. Altman was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.

In early years, Mr. Altman was employed with the Ford Motor Company, Detroit; and later at the Glenn L. Martin Company, Baltimore, during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 23 years with the Pangborn Corporation, Hagerstown.

Private services and interment were held at Utica cemetery near Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Building Fund, 601 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Jean Schaub
Dated: Thursday, June 13, 2002.
Mrs. Jean Marie Schaub, 80, of Gaithersburg, died Tuesday, June 11, at Lorien Nursing Home, Mount Airy.

She was the wife of the late William J. Schaub.

Born Feb. 27, 1922, in Washington, she was a daughter of the late Louis L. and Elsie Katherine Wright Cornwell.

Mrs. Schaub was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.

Surviving are two sons, Louis F. Schaub of Sykesville, and Joseph D. Schaub of Ijamsville; four grandchildren, Christine, Timothy, Kelly and Willie Schaub; and two sisters, Rita Richards of Adelphi, and Joan Carroll of Silver Spring.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus Road, Damascus.

Interment will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery, Silver Spring.

Mrs. Madeline Kline
Dated: Thursday, June 13, 2002.
Mrs. Madeline Christine Kline, 73, of Fairfield, Pa., formerly of New Market, died Wednesday, June 12, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of George Clayton Kline Jr., who died in 1997.

Born on Jan. 4, 1929, in Page County, Va., she was a daughter of Sudie Aleshire Kibler of Luray, Va., and the late Willis D. Kibler.

Mrs. Kline was a cook and worked at several restaurants in the area including Betty's, Peter Pan and at Hood College. She loved to cook for her friends and family and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Surviving are seven children, Allen Wayne Aleshire and wife Frances of Stanley, Va., Carroll Lee Aleshire and wife Lori, Sherman Ray Aleshire, Susan Christine Bowers, Harold Eugene Kline and wife Tina, all of Frederick, Cynthia Ann Kline of Fairfield, Pa., and William Edward Kline and wife Michelle of Gettysburg, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Michelle Aleshire of Stanley, Va., Michelle Gue and husband James of Fairfield, Pa., Christine Marie Aleshire of Thurmont, Andrea Nicole Bowers of Frederick, Robin Denise Pennington and husband Paul of Brunswick, Heather Michelle Rex and Daniel Bennett Kline, both of Gettysburg, Pa., Eric Lee and Samantha Jo Aleshire of Frederick, Renee Dawn Aleshire of Libertytown and Toni Onalee Carosella of Fairfield; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Lee of Fairfield, Ashley Beam, Chad Beam and Taylor Breedon, all of Stanley, Carrie Smith and Sarah Smith, both of Thurmont, and Brook Michael Pennington and Blane Christopher Pennington, both of Brunswick; five brothers, Wade Kibler of Luray, Cletus Kibler of Stanley, Virgil Kibler of Front Royal, Va., Harold Kibler and wife Sheila of Luray, and Earl Kibler of Oakton, Va.; one sister, Katharine Phillips of Luray; a sister-in-law, Pat Kibler of Luray; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Kline will also be remembered by her friend, Larry Moxley Jr. of Gettysburg; and daughter Cynthia's friend Anthony Carosella.

Mrs. Kline was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Kibler; and one sister, Florana Stoneburger.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick

Mr. Franklin Dayhoff
Dated: Friday, June 14, 2002.
Mr. Franklin "Frank" J. Dayhoff, 69, of Walkersville, died Wednesday, June 12, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Patricia Ann Flora Dayhoff, his wife of 48 years.

Born Sept. 30, 1932, in Carroll County, he was a son of the late James H. and Nettie Jackson Dayhoff.

Mr. Dayhoff was born in Frederick County.

Mr. Dayhoff was a member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Woodsboro.

For years he was the proprietor of a grocery store, Ray's Service, in Walkersville, and previously was manager of Walkersville Bowling Center.

Mr. Dayhoff was a life member of Walkersville Volunteer Fire Co. and an active volunteer at their events. He was a charter member of Walkersville Rescue Co., and was on the Frederick County Sheriff's Advisory Board, serving as treasurer. He was a member of the Maryland Sportsfishermen Association Inc. He was an avid fisherman, crabber and hunter.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Beth Anne Dayhoff of Walkersville; four brothers, Ray Dayhoff and wife Sandy, Glenn Dayhoff and wife Phyllis, and Wayne Dayhoff and wife Catherine, all of Walkersville, and Paul Dayhoff and wife Ann of Woodsboro; and four sisters, Mildred Saylor of Johnsville, Mabel Berkheimer and husband Ralph of Hanover, Pa., Ruth Lambert of Point of Rocks, and Shirley Baker of Johnsville.

Mr. Dayhoff will also be remembered by his friends, Rick Fogle, Steve Fogle, Troy Barrick, Jason Barrick and Chad Barrick.

Mr. Dayhoff was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Rippeon, in 1999.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at the funeral home, with Mr. Dayhoff's pastor, the Rev. Richard P. Rutkauskas, of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Grace Rocky Hill cemetery, Woodsboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Walkersville Volunteer Fire Co., 79 W. Frederick St., Walkersville, or Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Co., P.O. Box 202, Walkersville, Md. 21793.

The Rev. Walter Norris
Dated: Saturday, June 1, 2002.
The Rev. Walter B. Norris, 87, pastor emeritus of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Damascus, died Wednesday, May 29, at Collingswood Nursing Home, Rockville.

Born May 21, 1915, in Baltimore, he was a son of the late William W. and Sarah A. Boyd Norris.

The Rev. Norris attended St. Paul's Parochial School and St. Charles High School in Baltimore, and St. Mary's Seminary. He held bachelor of arts, master of arts, and licentiate of sacred theology degrees.

His first assignment was as associate pastor of the Church of the Nativity in Beltsville from 1941 to 1956. He was then pastor of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Beltsville, from 1956 to 1969; pastor of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Washington, from 1969 to 1971; and pastor of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Damascus from 1971 until 1982, where he was pastor emeritus from 1982 until the time of his death.

Surviving are one brother, Ralph J. Norris and wife Mary of North Carolina; one nephew, Dr. Christopher S. Norris; one niece, Sherry Norris Delgabo; one great-nephew, Adam Norris; and one great-niece, Lauren Norris.

The Rev. Norris was preceded in death by one brother, William B. Norris; and one sister, Helen Norris.

Friends may call from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus, Road, Damascus, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in New Cathedral cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore.

Contributions may be made to the Rev. Walter J. Norris Organ Fund (for the new church sanctuary), c/o Sherrie B. Wade, St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus Road, Damascus, Md. 20872.
