Mr. Claude Allen Carlisle, 47, of Clarksburg, died Sunday, March 24, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

Born May 15, 1954, in Olney, he was a son of Bertha Virginia and the late Claude W. Carlisle.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Barbara Shifflett of Damascus, and Blanche Pratt of Athens, Ohio; three brothers, James, John and Everett Carlisle, all of Clarksburg; two nieces; two nephews and two grandnephews.

Friends may call at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Saturday March 30, from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m.

Interment is private.

Mrs. Helen Bohn
Dated: Monday, March 25, 2002.
Mrs. Helen Marshall Bohn, 89, of Taneytown, formerly of Union Bridge, died Saturday, March 23, at Brookfield Manor Resident Care, Middleburg, after a long illness.

She was the wife of Earl F. Bohn, who died in 1977.

Born Sept. 18, 1912, in Willis, Va., she was a daughter of the late John A. and Mattie E. Marshall.

Mrs. Bohn was a member of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren, Taneytown.

She was formerly employed at Greif, Westminster, and H.L. Hartz, Union Bridge and Frederick, clothing factories.

Mrs. Bohn enjoyed sewing, cooking and listening to music.

Surviving are two daughters, E. Jeanne Bassin and husband Michael L. of East Berlin, Pa., and Jayne E. Higgs of Littlestown, Pa.; one son, Fred A. Bohn and wife Cleta of Union Bridge; seven grandchildren, Richard A. Bohn, Mark A. Bohn, Sharon S. Oland, Cynthia D. Myerly, Eric J. Bohn, Jill R. Bohn and Krystle L. Higgs; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Bowen and husband Edward of Pensacola, Fla., and Betty Bixler and husband John Victor of Westminster; a daughter-in-law, Corrine E. Bohn of Union Bridge; and a sister-in-law, Lola Keefer of Taneytown.

Mrs. Bohn was preceded in death by an infant son, James Ray Bohn, in 1946; a son, E. Richard Bohn, in 1993; three sisters, Bertha Singer, Bernice Thompson and Peggy Mitchell; and two brothers, Ray Marshall and James A. Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Walter Gessner, pastor of Westminster Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

Interment will be in Pipe Creek cemetery, near Linwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, Md. 21157.

Mrs. Naomi Gruber
Dated: Monday, March 25, 2002.
Mrs. Naomi Meriam Gruber, 85, of Union Bridge, died Saturday, March 23, at her home.

She was the wife of Franklin J. Gruber, who died Feb. 22, 1986.

Born Aug. 25, 1916, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late Harry William and Charlotte Sadie Palmer Lookingbill.

Mrs. Gruber was a seamstress at Claire Frock in Thurmont.

Surviving are one daughter, Doris Hubbard and husband Daniel Sr. of Woodsboro; three granddaughters, Cindy Brashear and husband Bill, Sue Horman and husband Mike, and Sandra Groomes and husband Bruce, all of Woodsboro; three grandsons, Daniel Hubbard Jr. and wife Penny of Woodsboro, Franklin Hubbard and wife Roxanne of Franklin, W.Va., and Willie Hubbard of Gainesville, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carmin Lookingbill and wife Louise of Woodsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gruber was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville. Funeral services will be held there at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. The Rev. James Wolf will officiate.

Interment will be in Rocky Hill cemetery, Woodsboro.

Mr. Eugene Kenny
Dated: Monday, March 25, 2002.
Mr. Eugene Edward Kenny, 59, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, March 23, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Mount Airy.

Born Oct. 23, 1942, in Mount Airy, he was a son of Madeline Dorsey Kenny of Mount Airy, and the late Charles Edward Kenny.

Mr. Kenny was a laborer and custodian for Montgomery County Public Schools.

He loved art and playing the guitar.

Surviving are three children, Eugene Kenny Jr. of Baltimore, David Kenny of Texas, and Eugenia Thompson and husband Michael of Mount Airy; two sisters, Barbara Dorsey and Deborah Kenny, both of Mount Airy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kenny was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Kenny.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, in Fairview United Methodist Church cemetery, Taylorsville, with the Rev. Sharon Hall of Warren United Methodist Church, Mount Airy, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are being handled by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, Winfield.

Mrs. Frances Rohrbaugh
Dated: Wednesday, March 27, 2002.
Mrs. Frances V. Rohrbaugh, 82, of 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, Pa., died Monday, March 25, at her home.

She was the wife of George L. Rohrbaugh, who died in 1995.

Born Jan. 7, 1920, in Emmitsburg, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Louise O'Toole Rohrbaugh.

Mrs. Rohrbaugh was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg.

She retired in 1975 after many years with Cambridge Rubber Co., Taneytown.

Mrs. Rohrbaugh, along with her late husband, had farmed in the Freedom Township area of Adams County, Pa., for many years.

Surviving are five sons, Robert L. Rohrbaugh, Donald E. Rohrbaugh and D. Michael Rohrbaugh, all of Fairfield, Pa., Kenneth J. Rohrbaugh of Gettysburg, and G. Thomas Rohrbaugh of Frederick; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo Keepers of Fairfield; and two sisters, Theresa Orndorff and Helen Sanders, both of Emmitsburg.

Mrs. Rohrbaugh was preceded in death by one son, C. Richard Rohrbaugh in 2000; and four brothers, Paul, Louis, Charles and Cecil Rohrbaugh.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, with the Rev. Steve Trzecieski as the celebrant.

Mrs. Isabelle Mullendore
Dated: Friday, March 29, 2002.
Mrs. Isabelle Louise Mullendore, 85, of 750 Dual Highway, Hagerstown, formerly of Gapland, died Wednesday, March 27, at Beverly Health Care of Hagerstown.

She was the wife of Carroll Thomas Mullendore who died Feb. 17, 1993.

Born Jan. 25, 1917, in Downsville, she was a daughter of the late Cecil C. and Blanche Trumpower McAllister.

Mrs. Mullendore was a homemaker.

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Rohrersville.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet L. Bezie of Arizona, and Brenda J. Ifert of Catlett, Va.; three sons, C. Paige Mullendore of Hagerstown, and Larry L. Mullendore and Denton K. Mullendore, both of Gapland; one sister, Joyce Anderson of Brunswick; four brothers, Eugene McAllister of Jefferson, Leon McAllister of Hagerstown, Charles McAllister of Boonsboro, and Donald McAllister of Walkersville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mullendore was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel M. Needy; and one brother, Allen McAllister.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fayellen Shankle officiating.

Interment will be in Middletown Lutheran cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Rohrersville, Md. 21779.

Mrs. Teresa Conrad
Dated: Friday, March 29, 2002.
Mrs. Teresa Lynn Gearhart Conrad, 39, of 20006 Jefferson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 27, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

She was the wife of James E. Conrad.

Born Sept. 24, 1962, in Washington County, she was a daughter of Mitchell B. and Beverly Mae Barnhart Gearhart of Hagerstown.

Mrs. Conrad graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1980.

She was employed as a department head at Home Depot in Frederick.

Mrs. Conrad was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are one daughter, Tiffany Star Miller, at home; one son, Garrett Miller, at home; one stepson, Justin Conrad, at home; one sister, Kristin Hose of Hagerstown; two brothers, Michael Brose Gearhart of South Riding, Va., and Jeffrey Allen Gearhart of Hagerstown; and maternal grandparents, Glenn and Mary Barnhart of Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, until funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward L. Poling will officiate.

Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery, Hagerstown.

Mr. Donald Melin
Dated: Friday, March 29, 2002.
Mr. Donald Raymond Melin, 76, of Falling Waters, W.Va., formerly of Frederick, died Wednesday, March 27, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

He was the husband of JoEllen Grim Melin, whom he married July 28, 1949.

Born Feb. 21, 1926, in Pennington County, Minn., he was a son of the late Henry and Hattie Larson Melin.

Mr. Melin served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring in 1966 after 20 years of service.

He was employed by the U.S. Department of Energy, with the U.S. Special Police, retiring in 1979.

Mr. Melin was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.

He was a member of AMVETS Post 2, Frederick; and Potomac Post 202, American Legion, Williamsport.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Susan M. Sullivan of Hagerstown, and Karen L. Miss of Frederick; two sons, Henry D. Melin of Silver Spring, and Richard S. Melin of Falling Waters; one sister, Marion DeBore of Climax, Minn.; one brother, Melvin Melin of Red Lake Falls, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Melin was preceded in death by one son, Donald R. Melin Jr.; one brother, Vern Melin; and one sister, Evelyn Herman.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Saturday, March 30, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Raymond Shriver will officiate.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, at the convenience of the family.

Dr. Peter Tsaknis
Dated: Monday, April 1, 2002.
Dr. Peter John Tsaknis, 64, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, March 28, in Washington.

He was the husband of Mayda Tsaknis.

Born March 2, 1938, in Youngs-town, Ohio, he was a son of John and Katolina Tsaknis from Kalimnos, Greece.

Dr. Tsaknis was a 1955 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. He graduated Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree in zoology and genetics in 1959; Ohio State University with a doctorate of dental surgery in 1963; St. Mary School of Law in 1970; George Washington University with a master of science degree in oral biology in 1974; and a master of arts degree in higher education in 1977.

He retired as a colonel from the U.S. Army in 1983. His military service took him to South Korea as a battalion dental officer of the 469th KJ Detachment in 1964. He was chief of the Oral Diagnosis Department at Walson Army Hospital in 1966. He was the group dental surgeon, 7th Special Forces in 1966-67, and 5th Special Forces in 1967-68 (airborne).

Dr. Tsaknis received numerous military awards and decorations including the Award of Meritorious Service medal with oak leaves, Army Commendation Medal with oak leaves; Air Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Medical Badge, and Senior Parachutist/Es Wings. In 1971, he became an oral pathologist, where he worked at Fort Meade, Fort Sam Houston and Walter Reed at the Institute of Dental Research.

His certifications and fellowships included diplomate, American Board of Oral Medicine; fellow, Academy of General Dentistry; Diplomate, American Board of Oral Medicine; fellow, Academy of General Dentistry; diplomate, American Board of Oral Pathology, and a fellow, International College of Dentists. He was a co-inventor for two histopatholgy devices. From 1974 to 1993 he was a professional lecturer at Georgetown University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Tsaknis' professional organizations included American Society of Forensic Odontology, American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, Phi Delta Phi, Signa Xi, Alpha Epsilon Delta and Order of AHEPA.

In 1983, he joined Howard University, College of Dentistry, as a professional lecturer. He was the acting chairman and professor of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and director of continuing dental education. Dr. Tsaknis authored more than 100 publications and articles.

In 1991, Dr. Tsaknis was the founding member and first president of the parish council of St. Peter and Paul, Greek Orthodox Church in Frederick.

Hi is survived by two children, John and Cassandra.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 920 W. Seventh St., Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2.

Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Arlington National cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, Md. 21784, or Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry, 31 S. Greene St., Baltimore, Md. 21201.

Arrangements are being handled by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
