Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother Josephine J. Gellert died Sunday January 14, 2001 at Meridian Nursing Center ~ The Pines in Easton, MD. She was 83.
Born on December 19, 1917 in Pasadena, MD. She was the daughter of the late Harry & Rose Julius Jeffra. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. In 1923 she married
Raymond Gelleret of Pasadena, MD. and was a homemaker until returning to school and receiving her nursing degree and became an RN. Mrs. Gellert worked for Anne Arundel General Hospital as a RN for 23 years, retiring in 1978. Upon retiring she moved to Carbondale, IL. Her husband predeceased her in 1992.In 1997 she moved to The Pines in Easton, MD. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Elventon, MD.
She is survived by four sons Raymond Gellert, Jr. of Glen Burine, MD.; David J, Gellert of Chester, MD.; Jeffery R. Gellert of Pasadena, MD. & Larry E. Gellert of Oregon. Two daughters Patricia Ann McMarlin of Pasadena, MD. & Christina Perkins of Huston, TX. Four Sisters Mary Rikandsrud of Washington, Doris Hayes of Henderson, MD, Mary Bartley& Eleanor White both of Elvaton, MD.a Brother Mickey Bury of Elvaton, MD. 21 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren & 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held 11AM on Thursday January 18, 2001 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD. Where family and friends may call from 7PM to 9PM on Wednesday January 17th, 2001.

Anna Mae Mason of Chestertown, Md. died Sunday January 14, 2001 at Corsica Hills Nursing home. She was 89.
Anna Mae Mason was born January 20, 1911 in Pondtown, Md., the daughter of the late Jerome and Annie Bratcher "Brooks". Mrs. Mason was self employed doing domestic work in Wilmington, De. until retiring in 1966. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Pondtown, Md. She enjoyed house work, sewing, cooking and she loved to read. Earlier in her life she enjoyed crocheting.
Anna Mae Mason is survived by several cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Mason in 1990. Services will be held Thursday January 18, 2001 at 1:00 pm at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Pondtown, Md. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be held at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery
following the services at the church.
Martin E. "Eddie" Newsome of Centreville, Md. died Sunday Jan. 14th. At his home of cancer. He was 79.
Mr. Newsome was born near Chestertown, Md. the son of the late Lewis and Margaret Walker Newsome. Mr. Newsome was a PBX Installer and repairman for the C & P Telephone Co. For 35 years. Retiring in 1983. Mr. Newsome was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of Jeff Davis American Legion Post #18; Centreville, Md.
Mr. Newsome was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Newsome loved to shoot pool and was an avid bowler with the phone co. He also enjoyed hunting and playing ball in his younger years. Mr. Newsome was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to see Jeff Gordon drive.
Mr. Newsome is survived by his wife of 46yrs. Doris Elizabeth Thompson Newsome. 1- son William Edward "Eddie" Newsome of Crumpton, Md. 2- Brothers Earl Newsome of Chestertown, Md. and Frank S. Newsome Sr. of Worton, Md. 1- sister Marian E. "Sis" Nicholson of Chestertown, Md. and 1- granddaughter Elizabeth Jewell Newsome of Crumpton, Md.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 19th. At 11 am from the Fellows Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, Md. where friends and family may call Thursday Evening from 7-9pm. Interment will be in the Chester cemetery, Chestertown, Md.

Loving wife & mother Florence Ann Donohue of Queenstown, MD. died Saturday January 13, 2001 at her home. She was 63.
Born on September 16, 1937 in Long Branch, NJ she was the daughter of the late Moore R. Castin & Martha F. Tucker Castin. She was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, New Jersey. And a graduate of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ where she received her B.S. in Mathematics in June of 1960. From 1960 ~ 1962 she worked for U.S. Navy Engineering Test Facility in Lakehurst, NJ and in 1962 ~ 1963 for the U.S. Army Munitions Command in Piccatinny Arsenal, NJ as a Mathematician.
She married
Bart P. Donohue III in 1962 and became a homemaker as they resided in Madison & Rumson, NJ In 1994 they moved to Queenstown, MD. She was an active member of Parent Teachers Organizations in Madison and Rumson, NJ, member of the Zoning Board of Adjustments, Boro of Madison, Madison, NJ member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Queenstown, MD. and an active platform tennis player.
She is survived by her husband Bart P. Donohue III of Queenstown, MD. son Bart P. Donohue IV of Fair Haven, NJ a daughter Kathleen A. Donohue of Wakefield, RI two sisters June Castin of Eatontown, NJ and Maureen M. Miners of Woodstock, CT. A funeral mass will be held 11AM on Wednesday January 17th, 2001 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Queenstown, MD. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Church cemetery

Roberta Ann Sewell, of Trappe, died on Saturday, January 13, 2001 at her home near Trappe. She was 67.
Born in Cambridge, April 30, 1933, she was the daughter of Grace Hughes Sinclair of Cambridge and the late Robert J. Sinclair. After graduating from Cambridge High School in 1951, she, on June 8, 1952, married
Clarke W. Sewell, Jr. They made their home near Trappe where she was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Easton.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are three daughters, Susan Carol Hughes of Sanford, N.C., Roberta Lynn Elmlinger of Hagerstown and Debra Kay Manning of Salisbury; a son, Clarke W. Sewell III of Snow Hill; two sisters, Rose E. Wroten of Trappe and Ella J. Brown of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Stephen Hughes, Nathan Hughes, Jessica Manning and Gabriel Sewell and one great-grandchild, Kameron Pettner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 16th, at 11 A. M. at The Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Easton. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening, Jan. 15th, from 7 - 9 P.M.

Julian Miller of Easton, died on Friday, January 12, 2001 at his residence. He was 90.

Evelyn Frances Larkin of Easton died at the William Hill Manor in Easton on Thursday, January 11, 2001. She was 86.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 30, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Eugenia "Jenny" Love Carney. In 1936, she married
Martin J. Larkin and they made their home in northeast Philadelphia until 1957 when they moved to Holland, PA.
In 1995, she moved to Easton to reside at the William Hill Manor. Her husband, Martin, died in 1969. Mrs. Larkin was a member of St. Luke's Parish in Newtown, PA.
Mrs. Larkin is survived by a son, Robert Larkin of Seaford, DE; a daughter, Eugenia Hess of Ephrata, PA; and three grandchildren, Todd Larkin, Greg Larkin, and Elizabeth Hess.
Graveside services will be held at the Sunset Memorial Park in Somerton Springs, PA at a later date.

Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Sally E. Starkey of Centreville, MD. died Thursday January 11,2001 at the Corsica Hills Nursing Center in Centreville, MD. She was 93.
Born on May 9, 1907 in Talbot County the daughter of the late Abraham & Mary Pinder Lord. She attended school in the Centreville area. She married
George S. Starkey on October 28, 1924. They resided in the Centreville area as Mrs. Starkey worked for the sewing factory in Centreville, MD. As she raised her family in Centreville.
Her husband predeceased her on December 25th , 1991. She is survived by her son George S. Starkey, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Centreville, MD. A brother Joseph Lord of Brooklyn, MD. A granddaughter Margie Freeman and two great granddaughters Renee and Ashley Freeman all of Centreville, MD. four brothers Bill Lord, Botis Lord, Bobby Lord & Tom Lord and two sisters Mary Dreshel and Susie McNeal all predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held 2PM on Saturday January 13th, 2001 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Centreville, MD. Interment will be in Chesterfield cemetery
in Centreville, MD. Family & friends may call at the funeral home one (1) hour before from 1PM ~ 2PM.

Albert J. Marvel of Easton died on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at the Memorial Hospital, Easton. He was 89.
Born in Easton, MD on October 20, 1911, he was the son of the late Senator A. Raymond and Lula May James Marvel. After graduating from Easton High School in 1929 he attended Lehigh University. He operated his own sales and service business in refrigeration, air conditioning and oil heating for fifty seven years until retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Easton and also a member of IOOF Miller Lodge #18. His first wife, the former Virginia Collier, whom he married
in 1939, died in 1975.
In addition to his second wife, the former, Helen Towers Covey, whom he married
in 1976, he is survived by a step-son, Dennis L. Covey; three step-grandchildren, Dennis L. Covey, Jr., Debbie Parker and Kevin Covey; five step-great grandchildren and one nephew, Thomas R. Marvel.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Easton on Friday, January 12, 2001 at 2:30 PM. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Springhill cemetery, Easton. Serving as pallbearers are Worth Walters, Raymond Harrison, Raymond Harrison, Jr., James Harrison, Paul Harrison, Jim Gadow, Ernie Smith and David Gaulden.
