Mr. Roy Sexton

Mr. Roy Herbert Sexton, 58, of Woodbine, died Tuesday, July 31, at his home.

He was the husband of Joyce Ann Sexton.

Born Oct. 12, 1942, in Spray, N.C., he was a son of Sadie Cockram Musser of Frederick, and the late Henry Garland Sexton.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters, Julie Ann Girod and husband Dave of Westminster, and Leisa Marie Pope and husband Steve of Mount Airy; one grandson, Calvin Girod of Westminster; one brother, Glenn Sexton of Tennessee; and three sisters, Emma Lee Johnson of Pittsville, Va., Mary Ruth Payne of Frederick, and Nan Howard of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3.

Interment will be in Poplar Springs Methodist cemetery, Mount Airy.

Mr. James Oliver
Dated: Wednesday, August 1, 2001.
Mr. James Raymond Oliver, 53, of Sykesville, formerly of Frederick County, died Sunday, July 29, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster.

He was the husband of Joyce Thelma Oliver.

Born Oct. 19, 1947, in St. Charles, Va., he was a son of Mary J. Taylor Oliver of St. Charles, and the late Wheeler Oliver.

Mr. Oliver served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.

He had worked in construction doing underground cable work with Dave Linton Co.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are one son, John C. Lizor and wife Carolyn S. of Sykesville; two daughters, Osie C. Nailon and husband David S. of Finksburg, and Pam Winson of Sykesville; his grandmother, Bessie Taylor of Tennessee; one brother, Denver Eugene Oliver of St. Charles; two sisters, Doris Ann Poteet of St. Charles, and Nellie Leister of Catonsville; seven grandchildren, Jessica and Roy Babylon Jr., James and Tresa Lizor, Melanie and Michael Winson, and Chasity Timmons; one great-grandson, Ian Brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by two brothers, William Oliver and Carlos Oliver.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at McNeil Funeral Home, 118 Church St., Sneedville, Tenn., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.

Interment will be in Belcher cemetery, Sneedville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Joyce Oliver, P.O. Box 373, Sykesville, Md. 21784.

Local arrangements were by Haight Funeral Home, Sykesville.

Mrs. Edith Bonebrake
Dated: Wednesday, August 1, 2001.
Mrs. Edith Cramer "Tooti" Bonebrake, 53, of Mount Airy, died Monday, July 30, at her residence.

She was the wife of G. James Bonebrake, her husband of 25 years.

Born Jan. 7, 1948, in Takoma Park, she was the daughter of Eleanor Davis Cramer of Silver Spring, and the late Milton A. Cramer.

She was an instructional aide with Montgomery County Public Schools for 14 years, working at John T. Baker Middle School in Damascus.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three sons, Douglas Wayne Johnson of Charlotte, N.C., Ashley Gordon Bonebrake and wife Andrea of Germantown, and James Jacob Bonebrake of Mount Airy; and four brothers and sisters, Mac Cramer of Silver Spring, Michael Cramer and wife Mary of Jefferson, Martha Manhollan and husband Ron of Mount Airy, and Eleanor Gore and husband Dick of Wintergreen, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, Md. 21784.

Mrs. Catherine Coe
Dated: Wednesday, August 1, 2001.
Mrs. Catherine Beahm Coe, 85, of 3300 Kaetzel Road, Gapland, and Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown, died Monday, July 30, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

She was the wife of Vincent S. Coe, whom she married Feb. 22, 1936.

Born Sept. 6, 1915, in Luray, Va., she was a daughter of the late Thomas M. and Laura Bessie Shank Beahm.

She was a 1934 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bakersville.

She was a member of Washington County Farm Bureau, Southern States Cooperative in Hagerstown and Maryland-Virginia Milk Producers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Gloria J. Bragunier of Hagerstown, and K. Lorraine Gloss of Chambersburg, Pa.; three sons, William V. Coe of Frederick, Donald L. Coe of Gapland, and T. Dale Coe of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Vinda Heck of York, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jane Line; one sister, Viola Foltz; and two brothers, Gilbert Beahm and Edward Beahm.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, in Salem Lutheran Church cemetery in Bakersville. The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate.

Master Justin Bayne
Dated: Wednesday, August 1, 2001.
Master Justin Paul Bayne, 8, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Friday, July 27, in Martinsburg, as the result of an automobile accident.

Born Nov. 27, 1992, in Gaithersburg, he was the son of Alfred Peter Bayne Jr. of New Windsor, and Dawn Sanchez Cook of Martinsburg.

He was a student at Tuscarora Elementary School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Robert Gregory Cook; one sister, Courtney Louise Bayne of Clarksville; two brothers, Alfred Peter Bayne III and Patrick Dylan Cook, both of Martinsburg; maternal grandmother, Paulette Jean Sanchez of Frederick; and paternal grandmother, Ruth Emily Bayne of Burtonsville.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home. The Rev. Carroll Williams will officiate.

Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Lola Smith
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Mrs. Lola Marie Smith, 88, formerly of Frederick, died Sunday, Sept. 23, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walkersville.

Twice married , she was the wife of the late Samuel Nicholson and the late Clark Herman Smith.

Born Aug. 5, 1913, in Damascus, she was a daughter of the late James Ray and Frances Lewis Davis.

She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Church of Christ.

She was a life member of the Woman's Auxiliary Frederick Chapter 371 Loyal Order of Moose.

She owned and operated Smitty's Restaurant in Mount Pleasant from 1957 to 1973 with her husband Clark.

She is survived by one daughter, Joanne Pennington and husband John of Parsons, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Shirley Ann Wisner and husband Kenneth of Walkersville; four grandchildren, Michael Rippeon of Frederick, Johnny Pennington of Parsons, W.Va., and Gwendolyn D. Whitmore and Jeffery L. Wisner, both of New Midway; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Wisner, Ronald Kenneth Whitmore and Rebecca Wisner, all of New Midway; three sisters, Ruth Bennett of Silver Spring, and Rena Hall and Catherine Ropp, both of Frederick; and two brothers, Lewis Davis of Takoma Park, and Donald Davis of Frederick.

She will also be remembered by friends, John and Phyllis Wills of Walkersville, and Calvin Fouche of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark Lee Davis, in World War II, and Arthur R. Davis; and one foster son, Pete Lods.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. Market St., Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, at funeral home with the Rev. David G. Beeson, of Mount Pleasant Reformed United Church of Christ, officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Mount Pleasant United Church of Christ, 9624 Liberty Road, Frederick, Md. 21701.

r. Lavier Shankle
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Mr. Lavier Thomas Shankle, 85, of 6816 Buckingham Lane, Buckeystown, died Monday, Sept. 24, at Beverly Health Care, Frederick.

He was the husband of Catherine Baker Shankle.

Born Feb. 15, 1916, in Buckeystown, he was a son of the late Steiner Garry and Ester Ellen Brown Shankle.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He had been employed for many years at Fort Detrick, retiring in 1970. He later drove a Frederick County school bus for Jack Harris and operated a lawn maintenance business in Buckeystown.

He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Garry Lee Shankle and wife Dawn Renn of Adamstown; and one brother, Earl Martin Shankle of Paw Paw, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Shankle.

The family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. David G. Oravec, pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to either American Kidney Fund Inc., 6110 Executive Blvd., Rockville, Md. 20852; or Alzheimer's Association, Western Maryland Chapter, 1730 N. Market St., Frederick, Md. 21701.

Mrs. Geraldine Morgan
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Mrs. Geraldine Louise Angleberger Morgan, 61, of 10612 Sheely Road, Thurmont, died Monday, Sept. 24, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore.

She was the wife of Eugene Ray Morgan Sr., her husband of 25 years.

Born Oct. 9, 1939, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Calvin Sr. and Florence Viola Bagent Angleberger.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Blossom Morgan of Brunswick, Karen Morgan of Emmitsburg, and Eugene Morgan Jr. of Thurmont; four grandchildren, Michael and Mickayla Morgan, Billy Monroe and Lexi Staion; four sisters, Carol Crummitt, Mary Eckenrode, Judy Wisner and Hilda Hanvey, all of Frederick County; four brothers, Richard, Melvin and John Angleberger, all of Frederick County, and Charles Angleberger of Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Angleberger.

Friends may call at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 3 to 9 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Carroll A. Doggett will officiate.

Interment will be in Union Chapel cemetery, Libertytown.

Mrs. Georgia Wilhide
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Mrs. Georgia May Wilhide, 82, of Sharpsburg, formerly of Frederick, died Sunday, Sept. 23, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of Joseph Charles Wilhide Sr., her husband of 65 years.

Born July 14, 1919, in Winchester, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Cleveland and Mamie Catherine McDonald Carpenter.

She was a homemaker.

She was a self-employed seamstress and art designer. She enjoyed making craft items, creating art work and designing greeting cards.

She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons and Washington County Senior Citizens.

She was a Protestant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Joseph Wilhide Jr. and wife Linda Kay of Sharpsburg; and one niece, Priscilla Smith of Yellow Springs.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Brent Joseph Wilhide in 1994; two brothers, Robert Carpenter and Carson Carpenter; and four sisters, Mary Moore, Loma Breeden, Clara Mitchell and Eloise Foley.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Darrell Strite, of New Life Fellowship Church, Sharpsburg.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
