Mr. Michael P. Moran Sr., 63, of 25 Manor Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Sept. 24, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

He was the husband of Carlene M. Inecoe Moran.

Born in Takoma Park, he was the son of the late Allen C. and Frances M. Sullivan Moran.

He was employed with District of Columbia Public Schools, Washington.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hagerstown.

He was a member of A.F.&A Washington Central Masonic Lodge 14.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Farley of Waldorff; two sons, Michael P. Moran Jr. of Charles City, Va., and Allen C. Moran of Desoto, Mo.; two stepchildren, Susan B. Walker of St. Mary's County, and Jack H. Walker of Charles City; one sister, Kathleen Glindemann of Lewes, Del.; one brother, Patrick N. Moran of Brunswick; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, Theodore Walker; and two brothers, Timothy Moran and Jere Moran.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mount Aetna Road, Hagerstown. Bishop Edward Walsh will officiate.

Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Catherine Hicks
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Mrs. Catherine M. Statler Hicks, 85, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, Greencastle, Pa., formerly of 8335 Molly Pitcher Highway, died Saturday, Sept. 22, at the nursing home.

She was the wife of Alvin A. Hicks, her husband of 67 years.

Born March 22, 1916, in Marion, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Percy P. and Mary Elizabeth Small Statler.

She attended Browns Mill School and Marion School. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greencastle.

She was a member of Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club and Greencastle Sportsman's Association Auxiliary. She was a member of Greencastle-Antrim Senior Women's Club and Greencastle-Antrim Loyal Daughters.

She volunteered for the Quincy United Methodist Home, the former Piney Mountain Home in Fayetteville, Pa., and the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Pa.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Phyllis H. Utterback of Columbia, and Leona H. Witmer of Harrisonburg, Va.; two sons, Kermit G. Hicks of Greencastle, and Roger A. Hicks of Riverton, Wyo.; two sisters, Beulah Burkholder and Betty Walter, both of Greencastle; two half sisters, Patricia Brechbiel of Greencastle, and Judith Williams of Frederick; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet L. Garber and Vera Farren; and two brothers, Harry P. Statler and Eugene Statler.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 45 N. Washington St., Greencastle. The Rev. Stacy Crawford will officiate.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery, Greencastle.

The family received friends Monday, Sept. 24, at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle.

Mr. Theodore Ausherman
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Mr. Theodore L. Ausherman, 93, of New Oxford, Pa., died Sunday, Sept. 23, at Brethren Home Community, Cross Keys, Pa.

He was the husband of Luchan P. See Ausherman, his wife of 70 years.

Born March 26, 1908, in Frederick County, he was a son of the late Milton K. and Daisy J. Haller Ausherman.

He was a retired feed mill foreman.

He was a member of Belvidere Church of the Brethren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Madeline Stover of York, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, where services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be the Rev. John Layman, chaplain of the Brethren Home Community.

Interment will be in Mount Rose cemetery.

Miss JoAnn Heltibridle
Dated: Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
Miss JoAnn Heltibridle, 46, of Springfield, N.J., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the World Trade Center North Tower in New York.

Born July 26, 1955, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Helen E. Heltibridle of Taneytown, and the late Richard D. Heltibridle.

She was a senior vice president for Marsh McClennan Company of One World Trade Center, 94th Floor, New York.

She graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 1973.

She was a member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ, Tyrone.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Daniel Heltibridle and wife Betty of Taneytown; two nieces, Lori Green and husband Freddie, and Debra Simms; two nephews, Steven Weller and Daniel Weller; and a great-nephew, Troy Green.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ, 2930 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster. Her pastor, the Rev. Gerald D. Fuss, will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the Parish Hall after the services.

The family has requested that memorials be sent to Emmanuel (Baust) U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 2950 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster, Md. 21158. Inquiries may be directed to the church at 410-751-1237.

Mrs. Ruth Main
Dated: Thursday, September 27, 2001.
Mrs. Ruth G. Main, 98, of Frederick, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick.

She was the wife of Harry C. Main who died Dec. 21, 1991.

Born Aug. 1, 1903, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Cora Hoover Delauter.

Mrs. Main was a retired retail merchant.

She was a member of Frederick Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are one daughter, Frances G. Turley and husband Ronald W. of Frederick; one son, Ora C. Main of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Letha Delauter of Frederick; one brother, Ora F. Delauter and wife Golda of Cavetown; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Main will also be remembered by her son's friend, Patricia Tucci of Kentucky.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave., Frederick. The Rev. Paul Mundey, senior pastor, will officiate.

Interment will be in Grossnickle cemetery, Myersville.

Mrs. Jacqueline Wines
Dated: Thursday, September 27, 2001.
Mrs. Jacqueline Joanne Wines, 68, of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown, formerly of Rockville, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

She was the wife of Charles Edward Wines Sr. of Hedgesville, W.Va.

Born July 2, 1933, in Olney, she was a daughter of the late Howard H. and Thelma Souder Mull.

Mrs. Wines was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Redland, and was a daycare provider at the church for 17 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Charles Edward Wines Jr. and Howard Kevin Wines, both of Boonsboro; and one granddaughter, Kimberly J. Wines of Boonsboro.

Mrs. Wines was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Susann Wines.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Redland. The Rev. Wayne L. Schwanke, chaplain of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, will officiate.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. William Eyler Jr.
Dated: Thursday, September 27, 2001.
Mr. William L. Eyler Jr., 68, of 9797 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 24, at Waynesboro Hospital.

He was the husband of Mary C. McCleary Eyler, whom he married Aug. 30, 1952.

Born March 4, 1933, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late William L. Sr. and Hilda Provard Eyler.

He attended Waynesboro area schools.

He owned and operated Eyler's Garage in Waynesboro for 45 years. He had been employed by Fairchild Aircraft and Mack Trucks both in Hagerstown.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Teri L. Eyler of Rouzerville, Pa., Lori A. Bittinger of Waynesboro, and M. Susan Miller of Sabillasville; two sons, Michael W. Eyler and William L. Eyler III, both of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and cousins.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at the funeral home with Pastor William H. Schuit officiating.

Interment will be in Green Hill cemetery, Waynesboro.

Mr. Gerald Mason

Mr. Gerald R. "Jerry" Mason, 41, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Monday, Sept. 24, at his home.

Born Nov. 3, 1959, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Arthur F. Mason of Martinsburg, and Effie Hite Newcomb of Fort Myers.

He was a 1979 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He was employed by Midway Wood Product; The Martinsburg Journal; and Arcata Printing Co.

He was an umpire for girls' softball and Martinsburg Little League.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Pamela L. Williams of Fort Myers; two brothers, Dennis T. Mason of Ty Ty, Ga., and Michael W. Mason of Martinsburg; his stepmother, Barbara Mason of Martinsburg; two half-sisters, Jennifer G. Mason of Martinsburg, and Rhonda D. Newcomb of Birch Tree, Mo.; two half-brothers, Mark A. Mason of Martinsburg, and Daniel M. Newcomb of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two stepsisters, Teresa Puffenburger and Diane Rogers, both of Martinsburg; four stepbrothers, J. Raleigh Shriver of Mount Airy, and James Newcomb, Brian Newcomb and Jeffrey Newcomb, all of Martinsburg; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arnold Brown officiating.

Interment will be in Rest cemetery, Virginia.
