Mrs. Edna Stitely

Mrs. Edna Viola Smith Stitely, 93, of Woodsboro, died Monday, July 23, at College View Nursing Home, Frederick.
She was the wife of William T. Stitely, who died in 1989.
Born Aug. 19, 1907, near Libertytown, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Mary Snyder Smith.
Mrs. Stitely was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Frederick.
Surviving are one sister, Catherine Castle of Troutsville; daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Wetzel of Frederick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stitely will also be remembered by her friends Larry and Mary Fogle of Woodsboro and their children.
Mrs. Stitely was preceded in death by one son, Donald Wetzel, in 1996; and one sister-in-law, Irene Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Burnis D. Barrett officiating.
Interment will be in Union Chapel cemetery, Libertytown.
Mrs. Clara Schnauffer
Dated: Wednesday, July 25, 2001.
Mrs. Clara M. Schnauffer, 92, of National Healthcare of Garden City, Murrells Inlet, S.C., died Tuesday, July 24, at the nursing home.
She was the wife of Patrick M. Schnauffer, former chief justice of the Judicial Court in Maryland, who died in 1974.
Born Jan. 1, 1909, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles William and Clara Woods Magill.
Mrs. Schnauffer was a graduate of the University of Alabama and Boston, Mass. Dietitian School.
She was employed with Peter B. Brigham Hospital.
Mrs. Schnauffer was an Episcopal.
Surviving are one son, Patrick M. Schnauffer of Medina, Wash.; two daughters, Diane S. Zullinger of Gladwyne, Pa., and Elaine S. Shane of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held later in Frederick.
Arrangements are by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Murrells Inlet.
Mrs. Helen Davidson

Mrs. Helen Elliott Davidson, 101, of 4700 S. Chelsea Lane, Bethesda, died Monday, July 16, at her residence.
She was the wife of Thomas Dobie Davidson, whom she married
May 26, 1917, and who died in 1958.
Born Sept. 25, 1899, in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late John Albert and Annie Rebecca Nichols Elliott.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Bethesda.
She is survived by one great-nephew, R. Miles White II and his wife Barbara Brennan White of Frederick.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Agatha E. Eisenstein; and one brother, Albert E. Elliott.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Point of Rocks, with the Rev. Guy Fouts officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Anthony Falcone

Mr. Anthony T. Falcone, 67, of Reisterstown, died Sunday, July 22, at his home.
He was the husband of Ruth Ditto Falcone.
Born May 5, 1934, in Rosetta, Pa., he was the son of the late Faust and Mary Listorto Falcone.
He was retired from Driggs Inc. of Washington. He was active in home remodeling and improvements in the Reisterstown area.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.
He attended Word of Life Church, Owings Mills.
He was a member of Washington Hand Dance Club and the Reisterstown Dunkin Donuts Celebrity Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Victoria Boyce of Jarrettsville, Jodi Collins of Bel Air, Lori Wolod of Annapolis, Terri Brown of Mount Airy, Denise Hahn Strunk of Rosetta, and Terri Singer of Bethlehem, Pa.; one son, Mark Falcone of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Nancy Rust of Homesdale, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Falcone, Dominic Falcone, Phil Falcone and Danny Falcone; and one sister, Angela Affa.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 25, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills. Veterans of Foreign Wars services will be held at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Hill officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery Garrison Forest, Owings Mills.

Mrs. Anna Martin

Mrs. Anna Marie Martin, 80, of 928 Shawnee Drive, Frederick, died Tuesday, July 24, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of Kenneth W. Martin, who died Feb. 9, 1999.
Born Aug. 25, 1920, in Altoona, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Miles and Margaret Stroh Wilson.
Mrs. Martin was retired from the Frederick County Board of Education as a custodian at Frederick High School. She had also worked at Fogle's Market, and Nicole's on the corner of North Market and Second streets.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Frederick.
Surviving are one nephew, Robert F. Martin and wife Mary of Frederick; one niece, Patricia M. Boone and husband Paul W. of Jefferson; and great-nieces and nephews, Daniel Martin, Jennifer Martin Hickman and husband Geoffrey, Deborah Martin, Kevin Boone and wife Jennifer, and Keith Boone and wife Judy.
She will also be remembered by her friend, Roy Goodman.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the Mass. The Rev. Wayne G. Funk will be the celebrant.
Private interment will be in Calvary cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Catholic Church, 116 E. Second St., Frederick, Md. 21701.

Mrs. Margaretta Stine

Mrs. Margaretta Flook Stine, 83, formerly of Potomac Towers, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, July 25, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of Melvin Stine, who died in 1971.
Born May 16, 1918, in Middletown, she was a daughter of the late Mary Virginia Flook Wiles.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, and was employed in the office at Bugle Linen Service in Hagerstown until her retirement.
She is survived by one brother, Kenneth Wiles of Thurmont; and two sisters, Bernadetta Brandenburg of Middletown, and Pat Love of Myersville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ellsworth Wiles.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, at the funeral home. The Rev. William M. Bucher, her associate pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in Lutheran cemetery, Middletown.
Mr. Earl Crouse

Mr. Earl Alfred Crouse, 76, of Charles Town, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 24, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
He was the husband of Emma F. Cornman Crouse, his wife of more than 46 years.
Born March 10, 1925, in Adams County, Pa., he was the son of the late Hobson D. and Pauline E. Worley Crouse.
He was a 1942 Taneytown High School graduate. He also graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in mechanical engineering and agricultural engineering, received a master's degree in business administration from Shippensburg College in Pennsylvania, and was awarded a professional engineering degree from State of Wisconsin.
In 1950, he was elected to Tau Beta Pi, engineering honor society, at the University of Maryland. From 1951-1952 he taught all the agricultural engineering courses at the University of Delaware, and served as Delaware State Agriculture Engineer.
In 1953, he introduced supplemental irrigation and liquid nitrogen fertilizer to farmers of Adams County while self-employed in retail farm machinery. In 1961, he participated on a team to recruit engineers for the newly formed Engineering Department, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Laboratories, Fort Belvoir, Va.
He retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as a mechanical engineer.
In 1968, he served as chairman, Board of Determinations, with the AMC AD HOC working group for the development of Army Integrated Material Support System and Procedures.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot during World War II.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town.
He was active in 4-H activities in Maryland for many years, and was an avid antiques collector.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Judith A. Muffley and husband Craig of Burke, Va.; two sons, Daniel George Crouse of Charles Town, and Ronald Lee Crouse and wife Barbara, Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Rita Warner, Rhoda Conover and Irene Lawrence, all of Gettysburg, Pa.; six brothers, Fred O. Crouse of Littlestown, Pa.; Ned Crouse, Ross Crouse, Ted Crouse and Tim Crouse, all of Gettysburg, and Roger L. Crouse of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Baker; and three brothers, Jay Crouse, Bob Crouse and Terry Crouse.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 110 W. North St., Charles Town, with Dr. Richard Simpson officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Interment will be private.

Miss Blanca Saldana

Miss Blanca Rosa Saldana, 2 1/2 years old, of Taneytown, died Monday, July 23, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a daughter of Faustino Saldana and Martina Arvizu Saldana of Taneytown.
Blanca attended St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Taneytown with her family.
Surviving are two sisters, Gloria and Cristina Saldana, and two brothers, Leonardo and Jose Saldana, all of Taneytown; maternal grandparents, Eduardo Arvizu of Texas, and Gloria Arvizu of Mexico; maternal great-grandmother, Prisliana Arvizu of Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Margarito and Praxedes Saldana.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, where prayers will be said at 9 p.m.
A Mass of the angels will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Martin E. Feild as the celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Brian Cox.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
