Mrs. Carrie Brown

Mrs. Carrie R. Brown, 76, of Clarksburg, died Thursday, April 5, at her home.
She was the wife of James A. Brown.
Born March 31, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Nora Snowden.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one stepson, William E. Brown and wife Bernice of Germantown; three stepgranddaughters; one stepsister, Laverne Young of Landover; one aunt, Emily Snowden of Frederick; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and nieces and nephews, including niece Patricia Cooper of Clarksburg.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 22430 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12. The Rev. A. Middleton will officiate.
Interment will be in church cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth Dunlevy

Mrs. Elizabeth C. Dunlevy, 87, of Chevy Chase, died Friday, April 6, at her home.
Born March 4, 1914, in Peach Bottom, she was a daughter of late George Frank and Clara Belle Irving Cashell.
Mrs. Dunlevy was a 1931 graduate of Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring. She received a business degree from Strayer College in Washington.
She had worked as an administrative assistant at the CIA in Washington before retirement.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Olney.
She liked knitting, crocheting and bird watching.
She is survived by one daughter, Lee A. Thompson and husband Joseph J. of Stevensville; one grandson, Thomas Hicks and wife Noelle of California; two great-grandchildren, Julian Hicks and Isabella Hicks, both of California; and one niece, Barbara Charles of Brookeville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, G. Franklin Cashell.
Friends may call at Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, on Tuesday, April 10, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel cemetery, Sunshine.

Mrs. Edna Fry

Mrs. Edna Virginia Fry, 74, a lifelong resident of Lovettsville, Va., died Monday, April 9, in Lovettsville.
She was the wife of the late Otho Fry.
Born Feb. 5, 1927, in Leesburg, Va., she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Hall McWilliams.
She is survived by one daughter, Frances Russell of Lovettsville; two sisters, Marie Elizabeth Thompson and Bessie Caroline Gillum, both of Leesburg; six grandchildren, Petey Russell of Brunswick, Mike Russell of Lovettsville, Sue Bradshaw of Thurmont, Mattea Ann Russell, Joshua and Matthew Russell, all of Lovettsville; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 32 E. Broadway St., Lovettsville.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Union cemetery, Lovettsville.
Donations may be made to Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Lovettsville, Va. 20180.
Arrangements were made by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, Lovettsville.
Mr. John Thompson Jr.

Mr. John Douglas "Dougie" Thompson Jr., 32, of 4014 Fulford McMillan Road, Raeford, N.C., died Friday, April 6, in Raeford, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was the husband of Melissa P. Thompson.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Shelby M. Thompson and Kathryn N. Thompson, both of Raeford; his father, John Thompson Sr. and wife Betty L. of Mount Airy; his mother, Regina E. Evans and husband Harry R. of Bellefonte, Pa.; stepson, Justin G. Pine of West Virginia; one brother, Allen D. Thompson and wife, Bridget of Hope Mills; two sisters, Christine M. Thompson of Mount Airy, and Vikki A. Mathis and husband Dean of Raeford; in-laws, Daniel and Glenda Pine of West Virginia; one aunt, Joan A. Snyder of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford, with the Rev. Richard Vaughan officiating.
Interment will be in Raeford cemetery.
Mr. Maurice Dade

Mr. Maurice Lee Dade, 96, a lifelong resident of Jefferson, died Monday, April 9, at his residence, 3850 Shadywood Drive, Jefferson.
He was the husband of Hazel Louise Cawood Dade, his wife of 73 years.
Born Sept. 5, 1904, in Jefferson, he was a son of the late Roger L. and Susan E. Ball Dade.
He was a graduate of Frederick High School and had a dairy farm in the Jefferson area until he retired from farming in 1959.
He then became associated with Frederick County Agricultural Stabilization Association until his retirement.
He was a lifelong member of Jefferson United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday school.
He was a member and former president of Frederick County Farm Bureau, a member of Holstein Association of Frederick County, and Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Association.
He participated for many years in Maryland Tree Conservation Program.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Joyce Remsburg and husband Merhl, and Stanley Dade and wife Alma, all of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Marilyn Young, Jody Rood, Leasa Mercer, Joe Dade and Vickie Dade; four great-grandchildren, Sarah Readon, Dusty Rood, Dallas Rood and Katie Renner; and one great-great-grandson, Henry Readon.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
The family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., on Wednesday, April 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at the funeral home. The Rev. Lori M. Hoffman, pastor of Jefferson United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

Mrs. Irene Cecil

Mrs. Irene Long Cecil, 78, of Frederick, died Sunday, April 8, at the home of her daughter.
She was the wife of Arthur Bud Cecil, who died in January 1995.
Born Feb. 16, 1923, in Mount Airy, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Ethel Long.
For many years, she worked with her husband on dairy farms, in janitorial services with Eastalco and in house cleaning.
She is survived by four daughters, Janice L. Calhoun of Frederick, Barbara A. Cecil of Texas, Catherine B. Dustin and husband Carlton of Bowie, and Sharon L. Domer of Frederick; one brother, Chester Long and wife Ruth of Frederick; one sister, Lillian Bartholow of Frederick; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Catherine Moggy of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Roland Long.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the funeral home. The Rev. Ross M. Jackson, of Westfalls Christian Community Church, Mount Airy, will officiate.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

Mr. Barry Walker Sr.

Mr. Barry Steven Walker Sr., 49, of New Market, died Sunday, April 8, at his home.
He was the husband of Terry Walker, his wife of 30 years.
Born Nov. 19, 1951, in Montgomery County, he was the son of Frances M. Kephart of Towson, and the late Donald H. Walker Sr.
He graduated from Damascus High School in 1970.
He worked for 31 years in automotive service management. He last worked as service manager for the Goshen Crossing Mobil in Gaithersburg.
He was an avid gardener and since childhood loved to raise tropical fish.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Barry Steven Walker Jr., and Court L. Walker and wife Sherry A., all of Frederick; one brother, Donald H. Walker Jr.; his stepfather, Roy F. Kephart of Towson; and two grandchildren, Tony and Autumn.
He will also be remembered by his son Barry's fiance, Annette Spinner of Frederick.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Richard Walker.
The family will receive friends at Pumphrey's Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., Rockville, on Wednesday, April 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12.
Inurnment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville.

Mr. Leonard Eigenbrode

Mr. Leonard Guy Eigenbrode, 84, formerly of Crestwood Village, a resident at Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick, for the past 2-1/2 years, died Tuesday, April 10, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Pauline Shafer Eigenbrode, who died December 1991.
Born Oct. 30, 1916, near Thurmont, he was a son of the late Howard and Edna Eyler Eigenbrode.
Mr. Eigenbrode was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown. He worked on area farms during his youth, later moving to Virginia, where he was employed 31 years as a carpenter with C.W. Gosnell Inc., Alexandria, Va.
His favorite pastimes included delivering fruits and vegetables to his neighbors, attending baseball and softball games with friends, and enjoying local firemen's and church dinners.
Surviving are one brother, Francis Eigenbrode of Tuscon, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Eigenbrode was preceded in death by one sister, Lena Wiles; and two brothers, Paul and Robert Eigenbrode.
Friends may call at any time Thursday, April 12, at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, at the funeral home, with Mr. Eigenbrode's pastor, the Rev. Donald L. Turley, officiating.
Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery, Middletown.

Mr. Otis Reynolds

Mr. Otis D. Reynolds, 86, of Frederick, formerly of Austin, Pa., and Emporium, Pa., died Friday, April 6, in Frederick.
He was the husband of Mary Jane Swesey, whom he married
Feb. 28, 1950, in Warren, Pa.
Born Dec. 20, 1914, in East Otto, N.Y., he was a son of the late Alfred John and Bertha Langworthy Reynolds.
He had served as a field medic in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Reynolds was retired from GTE Sylvania in 1974.
He was a member of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Emporium.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Virginia Fu of New York, and Jill Ripple of Frederick; four sons, Larry Reynolds of Phoenix, Ariz., Joel Reynolds of Keating Summit, Timothy Reynolds of Emporium, and Roben Reynolds of Austin; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Davis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Edward M. Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14. The Rev. James Eastman, pastor of Abundant Life Tabernacle, will officiate.
Interment, with military honors provided by members of the Cameron County Memorial Detail, will be in Newton cemetery.
