Mary Elizabeth Barron, 85, of Manchester, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Longview Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born Dec. 25, 1914, in Beckleysville, she was the daughter of the late George Albert and Claudia Hoover Hedrick.
She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed working on the Raybille Farm.
Surviving are son John Barron of Manchester; brothers Harry and Carroll Hedrick, both of Parkton, and George Hedrick of Hellam, Pa.; sisters Jessie Shipley of Westend, N.C., and Grace Gifford of Baltimore.
She was predeceased by siblings Russell Hedrick, Lucille Royston and Anna Hedrick.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Matthew Schenning, of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, officiating. Interment will be in the New Lutheran cemetery in Manchester.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

Lorraine B. Hare
68, of Westminster
Lorraine Buckingham Hare, 68, of Westminster, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Hanover Hall, Hanover, Pa., where she has resided since November 1999.
Born Sept. 14, 1931, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late William Tivis and Eunice May Brown Buckingham. She was the wife of Ervan Junior Hare, to whom she was married
for 50 years.
She was employed with the former Carroll County Bank & Trust Company in Westminster for 28 years; she retired as manager at the Englar Road branch. She was a member of the Westminster United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Ervan ``Billy" William Hare of Mount Airy and Wesley ``Wes" Lee Hare of Seven Valley, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brother Harry T. Buckingham.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Revs. David Highfield and Elaine Emeth officiating. Interment will be in Westminster cemetery, Westminster.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Carol Ann Elizabeth Knopp, 47, of Westminster, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at the University of Maryland Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born June 28, 1952, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond M. and Florence Barnes Utz. She was the wife of Russell Joseph Knopp.
She was employed at Target in Westminster and was a member of the VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467 Ladies Auxiliary in Westminster.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son Jeffrey T. Allen of Hampstead; mother-in-law Catherine May Knopp of Hampstead; brothers Kenneth E. and John W. Utz, both of Westminster, Raymond D. Utz of Hampstead, Larry R. Utz of Frederick and Dale E. Utz of Finksburg; two granddaughters; five nieces and five nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Antje C. Lammers-Brouwer

Antje C. Lammers-Brouwer, 91, of Gainesville, Fla., formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.
Born Feb. 1, 1909, in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Geradus Theodorus and Antje Catharina Sommeling Johannes-Brouwer. She was the wife of Abraham Andries Lammers, who died in 1996.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Adri and Hill Van Leeuwen-Bijma of the Netherlands; and step-daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Terry Dooley of Liverpool, England.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Ronald S. Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Westminster cemetery.

Constance H. Shipley
58, formerly of Sykesville
Constance H. Shipley, 58, of Fenwick Island, Del., formerly of Sykesville, died Monday, May 8, 2000.
Born Oct. 29, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas George and Mary Elizabeth McElrae Stephenson. She was the wife of John Reese Shipley Jr., who died in 1981.
She was an accountant for O.C. Real Estate Management in Ocean City and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ocean City Elks Club. She moved from Sykesville to Fenwick Island in 1985.
Surviving are daughter Suzanne Connie Jones of Mount Airy; sons Matthew Scott and Andrew Todd Smith, both of Fenwick Island, Del.; sisters Elizabeth Hoffman of Albuquerque, N.M., and Christine Rahn of Selbyville, Del.; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brandenburg United Methodist Church, Old Washington Road, Sykesville. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Elizabeth Naomi Sprinkle, 82, of West mister, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1917, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late John and Maggie Brilhart Sterner. She was the wife of Charles H. Sprinkle, her husband of 63 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's United Church of Christ in Silver Run.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Charles H. Sprinkle Jr. of Olney and Ronald W. Sprinkle of Mission Viejo, Calif.; twin sister Joanna Koontz of Littlestown, Pa.; brother John W. Sterner of Hanover, Pa.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jessie M. Bowersox
93, of Westminster
Jessie M. Bowersox, 93, of Westminster, died Friday evening, May 5, 2000, at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, Pa.
Born Jan. 11, 1907, in Davis, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Elsie Kight Shaffer. She was the wife of John Condo Bowersox, who died in 1983.
She worked for the state of Maryland at Rosewood in food services until her retirement. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westminster, where she was very active in church activities and a member of the Westminster Park Squares. She enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Jessie B. and Charles Peeling Jr. of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law John ``Jack" F. D. and Phyllis C. Bowersox of Westminster; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Harlowe, who died in 1992.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Revs. L. Stanley Whitson and Frederick P. Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Mount United Methodist cemetery, Finksburg.
E. Mae Caple
90, formerly of Reese
E. Mae Hill Caple, 90, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Reese, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at Homewood at Plum Creek, where she had been a resident since March 1995.
Born Jan. 16, 1910, near Gamber, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Mary Emily Lockard Hill. She was the wife of Kenneth G. Caple, who died in 1979.
She was a homemaker all her life.
She was a member of the Reese Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Carroll County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Sandymount United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons K. Grady Caple Jr. of Roaring Spring, Pa., and Wayne Hill Caple of Oakland; daughters and sons-in-laws Phyllis and Jack Bowersox and Pat and David Burkholder, all of Westminster; sister Mary G. Harden of Hanover, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son Ray Allen Caple and brothers Charles, J. Harry, and George Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sandymount United Methodist Church with the Rev. E. James Stutler and former pastor, the Rev. Bill Boyer, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.

75, of Hampstead
Melva H. Cullison, 75, of Hampstead, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born May 9, 1924, in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Goldie May Wilhelm Hale. She was the wife of the late William M. Cullison.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Hampstead.
Surviving are sons Curtis L. Cullison Sr. of Manchester, Ronald W. Cullison Sr. of Westminster, and Terry K. Cullison of Emmitsburg; brother Lewis Hale of Upperco; sisters Sadie Baugher and Elda McVicker, both of Manchester; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sisters Helen Ecker and Mary Fowble; and brother Curtis Hale.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. Mary Kay Totty-Kublawi. Interment will be in Hampstead cemetery.
