Mr. Spencer Ramsburg

Mr. Spencer Lewis "Ben" Ramsburg, 93, of Walkersville, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born in Walkersville on January 2, 1914, he was the son of the late Grayson and Cora (Stull) Ramsburg. Ben joined the US Army during WW II. When he returned home, he was employed with Ideal Farms and Dairy and later in his life work for the Frederick County School System in maintenance.

Survivors include his sister, Charlotte Young of Walkersville; a sister-in-law, Viola Ramsburg of Frederick; and several nieces and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, with Rev. Gerald C. Hanberry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial followed in Glade cemetery.

Memorials contributions may be offered to: Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company, P.O. Box 202, Walkersville, MD 21793.

Mr. Otis Wright

Mr. Otis Harold Wright Sr., 74 of near Libertytown, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Born April 14, 1933 in Tazewell, Va., he was the son of the late Troy C. and Margaret J. Kendar Wright. He was the husband of Joan Peery Wright, his wife of 52 years. Mr. Wright resided in the Tazewell area until 1956 when he and his family moved to the Libertytown area. He formerly worked as a coal miner in Virginia and then in Montgomery County with Asplundh for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed his grandchildren and pets, washing his car, smoking cigars, and country music.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Gala Wright and companion, Joseph Yannone, of Middletown; Valinda Baker and husband, Russell, of Tazewell; 4 sons, Otis Harold Wright Jr., Dale E. Wright and Roy Carl Wright, all of Libertytown; Warren Lee Wright, of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren, Calvin McDonald, April and Chris Wright, Tommy Herril, Andrew, Dale, Teresa, Pete, Elvin and Gala Wright; 3 great grandchildren, Rebecca and Elizabeth Wright and Logan McDonald. He will also be fondly remembered by Nancy Crum, former companion of son, Otis Harold Wright Jr. He was one of 21 siblings.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown, with Rev. Frances Tonks, pastor of Community of Christ, Frederick, officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount cemetery, Libertytown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to help defray the family's expenses, c/o Gala Wright, P.O. Box 888, Middletown, MD 21769.

Mrs. Charlotte Morris

Mrs. Charlotte Ningard Morris, 63, of Frederick, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Nov. 22, 2007 after a long and courageous fight with leukemia. She was the wife of Max Morris, of Frederick, whom she married April 26, 1969.

Born March 15, 1944 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Mary Ningard of Colorado Springs, Colo., and the late Winfield Frederick Ningard. A veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves, Charlotte enjoyed camping, hiking, and horseback riding, and shared her passion with her family. She was always willing to help others before herself, and she loved her church and church family.

In addition to her husband of 38 years and her mother, she is survived by her sister, Winnie Brickett (nee' Ningard) and husband, Douglas Brickett, of Colorado Springs; daughters, Holly C. Morris and grandson, Dakota Morris, of Frederick and Schatzi Cruz (nee' Morris) and husband, Juan Carlos Cruz, of Laurel; nephews, Robert Brickett and wife, Donna, and their children Mason and Reese Brickett, of Liberty Lake, Wash., and Scott Brickett, of Tampa, Fla.

Viewing will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N., Frederick, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26. Pastor Steven Rose of Myersville Baptist Church will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Alma Bernice Geisbert

Alma Bernice Geisbert, 72, of Ranson, W.V., passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 22, 1935, in Gaithersburg, and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mabel McMahon Arnold.

She was a member of the Washington Grove Methodist Church, Washington Grove.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Calvin E. Geisbert Sr.; four daughters, Linda Geisbert, Donna Fiscue and husband, George, of Winslow, Ind., Darlene Williamson and Loretta Geisbert, both of Ranson; two sons, Calvin E. Geisbert Jr. and wife, Tammy, and Timothy W. Geisbert and wife, Nicole, all of Harpers Ferry; three brothers, Frank Arnold, of Keyser, W.V., Elmer Arnold of Hagerstown, and Carroll Arnold, of Harpers Ferry, W.V.; 19 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Lee Arnold; three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, U.S. 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, W.V., with the Rev. Melissa C. Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill cemetery at Charles Town.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m, Monday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Linda Graves

Mrs. Linda Steele Graves, 61, of Frederick died suddenly at her home Nov. 21, 2007. She was the wife of Sonny Graves.

Born in Silver Spring, she was the daughter of Chester Steele and the late Frances Souders Steele.

She was recognized as a breeder and trainer of Champion Shelties as well as active in Sheltie rescue.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her children, David, Sharon and Curtis. One sister, Mary Steele and granddaughter, Kaylan Graves.

Services and interment will be private.

Mr. Robert Dudley

Mr. Robert V. Dudley, 83, of Walkersvile died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Barbara Hayden Dudley who did in 2002.

Born on October 31, 1924, in Buena Vista, Va. he was the son of the late William W. and Sallie M. Dudley. He was a route driver for Bergman Laundry, retiring after 32 years service. Robert served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Posts in Cheverly and Greenbelt. Mr. Dudley was a part-time employee of the Service Employees Union. He enjoyed horse racing, playing cards and attending family crabs feasts.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Bargas, of Walkersville and Mary M. Wright and husband, Anthony, of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren: Lindsey Cowher, Tammy Wright, Dustin Jordan and Robert Dudley, Jr. and wife, Julie; four step-grandchildren: Vivian Bradshaw and husband, Chris, Gary Johnson, and wife, Jill, Neil Johnson, and Richard Johnson; 11 great grandchildren, Colin, Tyler, Sydney, Cory, Claire, Devin, Katie, Chloe, Taylor, Carson, and Tyler; and a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Dudley, of Blue Springs, Miss. Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by a son, Robert Francis Dudley; four brothers, William Dudley, Charles Dudley, John Dudley and Fred Dudley and a sister, Annie Laurie.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mount Airy. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tim May officiating.

A private inurnment will take place at Ft. Lincoln cemetery, Brentwood.

Mr. Elton Potter Jr

Elton Leroy "June" and "Junior" Potter Jr., of Knoxville, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, S.C while visiting his daughter in nearby Ridgeville, S.C.

Born May 6, 1938 in Yarrowsburg, he was the son of the late Elsie Mae Jones and Elton Leroy Potter Sr.

June was a graduate of Boonsboro High School, class of 1957.

He was a veteran serving with the United States Marine Corps. For 31 years he was employed by UPS in Hagerstown, retiring in 1995. Elton was the first UPS driver to be inducted into the Circle of Honor Hall of Fame. He received the citation in Baltimore.

He was a member of Dixon-Troxell Post 211 American Legion in Funkstown; and the Amvets Post 10 in Hagerstown.

June is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane Saylor Potter, of 43 years; daughter, Lori J. Reeder and husband, Gerald, of Ridgeville, S.C. and formerly of Keedysville; sons, Duane E. Potter and wife, Yvonne, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Larry K. Potter, of Charles Town, W.V.; grandson, Timothy D. Potter; granddaughter, Cori M. Potter; and great-granddaughter, Brianna C. Potter; sister, Mary Lou Reeder, of Boonsboro; and brothers, Carl E. Potter, of Warfordsburg, Pa. and Jerry L. Potter, of Gapland; and his faithful, four legged companion, Lukie.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Old Brownsville cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Ms. Barbara Keller

Barbara Lynn Keller, 80, of Frederick died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007. She was born March 31, 1927 in West Virginia to Robert and June Gaither Keller.

She retired as an elementary teacher from Elkridge Elementary School, Catonsville. She was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Frederick.

She is survived by a cousin, Robert Ross, Henderson; niece, Barbara Henderson, Morgantown, W.V.; dear friend, Nancy Frost, Frederick; and close friends, Carol Fitzpatrick, Frederick and Timothy Caudill, Taneytown.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26 at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. Rev. Paul Black will officiate. She will be buried in Park Heights cemetery, Brunswick.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 66 Waverly Drive, Suite 630, Frederick MD 21702.

Mrs. Eva Virginia Weller

Mrs. Eva Virginia Weller, 88, of Frederick, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at the Northampton Manor Nursing Center, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Franklin T. Weller. Born January 4, 1919, in Ijamsville, she was a daughter of the late Jefferson Fredeick and Lottie Noyes Keller.

Mrs. Weller was a longtime member of the Ijamsville United Methodist Church and was an avid bingo player for many years. She worked at the Barbara Fritchie restaurant as well as Urbana Elementary School for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Fred T. Weller and wife, Mary K., of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Roy L. Weller and wife, Dee, and Franklin N. Weller, all of Frederick; one daughter, Ruth E. Houck, of Walkersville; one sister, Sophia Myers, of Ijamsville; seven grandchildren; nine great-gradnchidren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also remembered by a special foster child, Betty Nicholson. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gerald Houck and daughter-in-law, Mary K. Weller.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from the funeral home with the Rev. Franklin Bishop, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Ijamsville United Methodist Church. 4746 Mussetter Road, Ijamsville, MD 21754.

Mrs. Evelyn Wachter

Evelyn Delphey Wachter, 87, of Frederick, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007. She was the wife of Leslie E. Wachter.

Born Jan. 22, 1920 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Clarence G. Delphey Sr. and Nina "Deater" Delphey. Mrs. Wachter was employed by and retired from Farm Credit, now AgFirst, with 45 years of service. She was a graduate of the Visitation Academy's Business School.

Mrs. Wachter was a member of All Saint's Episcopal Church in Frederick and a Life Member of the Frederick County Agricultural Society. She enjoyed traveling, attending antique car shows with her husband and entertaining family and friends at home.

In addition to her husband, Les, she is survived by a daughter, LeAnna Wachter, of Cockeysville; a sister-in-law, Jan V. Delphey, of Frederick; a nephew, Richard L. Hargett Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Winter Haven, Fla.; two nieces, Donna H. Gilbert and husband, Tom, of Chambersburg, Pa. and Sharon D. Stauffer and husband, Michael A., of Middletown; two great-nephews, Richard L. Hargett III, of Miami, Fla. and Michael Z. Mesa, of Frederick; and two great-nieces, Jessica L. and Danielle N. Stauffer, of Middletown.

Mrs. Wachter was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence G. Delphey Jr.; sister, Helen D. Hargett and her husband, Richard L. Hargett Sr.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Wachter's honor to the charity of one's choice.

Mr. Edward Siedling

Mr. Edward Thomas Siedling, 86, of Frederick, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at his residence. He was the husband of Geraldine Firestone Siedling, his wife of 65 years.

Born January 16, 1921 in Frederick, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ella Orme Siedling. Mr. Siedling graduated from Frederick High School and entered the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Oberrender (DE-344) in the Pacific, prior to his honorable discharge at the end of the war.

Following his military service, he owned and operated Siedling Electrical Contractors from 1946 until 1960. He later worked at the National Institutes of Health as plant engineer from 1960 to 1965; and prior to his retirement, worked at the former National Bureau of Standards, now N.I.S.T. from 1965 to 1982.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick; the Fervency Lodge, No. 200, AF. & A Masons, Point of Rocks; the John R. Webb Post 3285, V.F.W., the Francis Scott Key Post 11 American Legion and the AMVETS Post #2, all of Frederick. He was also a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, No. 684, Frederick.

Mr. Siedling was an avid sportsman and loved soccer, basketball and especially baseball. In early years he excelled at basketball and was one of the only known starters for the Frederick High School team for all four of his years. He also coached the Optimist team in the National Little League for many years and won numerous league titles; and as coach of the National Little League All Star teams, won three state Little League titles. He also served a number of years as a Maryland State Babe Ruth Commissioner. He was well-known and respected as a Frederick County Baketball referee for over 13 years and was an avid Maryland Terrapin and Baltimore Orioles Fan. He was also an avid golfer and participated with the V.F.W. Seniors and had achieved several hole-in-ones.

Besides his wife, he is survived by son, William E. Siedling and wife, Patricia, of Frederick; daughter, Treva D. Siedling and husband, Ted Manakas, of Frederick; five grandchildren, Channing Monte and wife, Mary Lillie, Shelly Simpson and husband, Michael, Kristen Curtis and husband, Brad, Kip Siedling and Kara Siedling; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by friends, Bob Byers and Ed Sanger. He was preceded in death by a brother, William A Siedling; half-brother, Winfred Merchant; sister, Ruth Gray and half-sister, Dorothy Plunkard.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, Nov. 26 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from the funeral home with the Rev. Burnis D. Barrett, officiating. Interment will be In Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, Inc, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702; to the YMCA of Frederick County, Inc., 1000 North Market Street, Frederick, MD 21701, or to the charity of one's choice.

Mr. Jarrel Gray

Mr. Jarrel "Rell" Cortez Gray, 20, of Frederick, died suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007.

Born March 27, 1987 in Frederick, he was the son of Tanya Thomas and Jeffrey Gray.

Jarrel was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 2005. He was a member of Sharp St. United Methodist Church, a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed music and hanging with "Dafellaz." He loved spending time with his brother and sisters.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Steven Reid; sisters, Brooke Gray and Chynna Hawkins; maternal grandparents, Anna Laurencine Thomas and Kenneth Brown; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Mary Gray; maternal great-great-grandfather, Lawrence Thomas, Aunts Kelsey Brown, Kourtney Brown, Terry Graves and husband, James, Sonya Hungerford and husband, Robert; uncles, Troy Thomas and wife, Mistie, Kenneth Brown Jr., Kurt Brown, Kevin Brown and Peter Jones Sr.; and special great-great-aunt, Joan Lyles. His girlfriend, Kyris Randall and good friend, Ryan Dorsey. He will also be remembered by Craig Hawkins. Special friends and pallbearers, Eduardo Alex Lugo, Daniel Lugo, Ricardo Russell, Justin Graves, Nicholas Macklin, Shatique Smith, Jerame DuVall, and Jimmy Graves. Honorary bearers will be Kyris Randall and Sara Ismach.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, from Lynfield Complex, 10142 Hansonville Road, Frederick, with the Rev. Yolanda Gamble and George Hackey Jr. officiating.

Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
