Mrs. Hazel Salter

Mrs. Hazel R. (Wheeler) Salter, 95, of Myersville, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Citizens Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Arnold H. Salter.

Born Sept. 22, 1912, in Colesville, she was the daughter of the late Elsie and Harry Wheeler.

Mrs. Salter was employed as the manager of Montgomery Deli for many years. Before moving to the Outer Banks, N.C., where she was noted for her famous "Hazels Crabcakes" at one of the local restaurants. She returned to Maryland after her husband's passing and lived near her son until her health forced her into the nursing home in 2006.

Surviving are three children, Charlotte Bowden of Germantown, Willard E. Salter and wife Yvonne of Myersville, and Roland Williams, Cleveland, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Russell, Tyson and Elmer Wheeler.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Stacy Brady will officiate. Interment will be held in Parklawn cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Community Lutheran Church, 3941 Brethren Church Road, Myersville, MD 21773.

Mr. Phillip Natalie and Mrs. Jessica Natalie

Mr. Phillip Brian Natalie, 26, and Mrs. Jessica Laurel Wells Natalie, 24, of St. Mary's, died suddenly Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, as a result of a motorcycle accident. The couple wed June 21, 2008.

Brian was born in Asheville, N.C., Oct. 14, 1981, and was a son of Matthew G. and Rose Herron Natalie of Macon, Ga. As a teen, he worked for Polly's Corner Caf?, Macon, before joining the U.S. Navy. Currently Brian was employed with Dyncorp as an aircraft mechanic, plane captain, and collateral duty inspector.

Jessica was born in Washington, D.C., March 23, 1984, and was the daughter of Steven M. and Janet M. Schmidt Wells of Cedar Grove. She was a graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland and was employed with H.H. Hunt at Abberly Crest as an assistant manager.

Brian was currently attending college for aeronautical engineering; Jessica was a loving member of MUSADE and language instructor for H.H. Hunt Corporation.

Besides their parents, the couple is survived by Brian's siblings, Sarah and Jacob Gregory Natalie and Jennifer Huey, all of Macon; and maternal grandparents, Harley and Ethel Herron of Asheville, N.C.; as well as Jessica's brother, Jared Wells of Cedar Grove; grandparents, Harley and Ethel Herron of Asheville, Frances H. Wells of Broomes Island, Martha Schmidt of Damascus and Nancy Schmidt of Frederick.

Brian and Jessica will also be lovingly remembered by three nephews and numerous extended family and friends.

They were preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Norma Natalie in 1991 and 2002; Robert W. Wells, who died Aug. 20, 2008; and Ronald D. Schmidt, who died April 11, 2008.

There will not be calling at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home. An informal celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the garden at The Inn at Buckeystown, 3521 Buckeystown Pike, Buckeystown.

Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Mrs. Joan Cregger

Joan M. Cregger, 71, of Silver Spring, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008.

She was the beloved wife of Dewey L. Cregger; loving mother of Gerald Cregger, Bruce Cregger (Chris), Julie Flynt and the late Stephan Cregger; loving sister of Janet Martin (the late Ray), Margaret Robinson (Ballard), Frederick Reed III (Carol), Cathy Young (Bob), Patty Ann Reed and the late Betty Lou Pifer. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., Rockville and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Wildwood Baptist Church, 10400 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda.

Interment will be in the Mount Zion cemetery.

Mrs. Anne Klish

Anne Marie Klish, 90, of Johnson City, N.Y., passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008.

She was born in Olyphant, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Polansky.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 and a half years, Milton Klish; two sons and daughters-in-law, Myron and Geraldine Klish, Endwell, N.Y., and Dr. John and Susan Klish, Middletown; five grandchildren, Kathryn Klein, Maryellen (John) Seeley, Thomas Klish, Karen (Scott) Griffin, and Andrew Klish; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Kariam, Johnson City and Nellie Henzes, Peckville, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Stephie Frailey, Binghamton, N.Y., and Jennie Polansky, Bradenton, Fla.

Anne was a member of Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Johnson City and an active member of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Anne retired from the A&P; Company where she was employed as a bookkeeper.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Lourdes Hospice for their wonderful care and comfort.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 3, at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Johnson City and at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, where a divine liturgy was celebrated by the Rev. Teodor Czabala.

Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Johnson City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, 230 Ukrainian Hill Road, Johnson City, NY 13790 in Anne Marie Klish's memory.

Mrs. Annie Keeney

Mrs. Annie Elaine Summers Keeney, 70, of Walkersville, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Northampton Manor Health Care Center, Frederick. She was the wife of Walter Kenneth "Bill" Keeney.

She was born in Frederick, Sept. 2, 1938, as a daughter of the late Oscar Martin and Annie Elizabeth Hann Summers.

Mrs. Keeney has been employed with the Frederick Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working on jigsaw puzzles and traveling to Charlestown, W.Va.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two step-children, William Keeney and wife Becky of Point of Rocks and Donna Hoover and Frank of Frederick; step-granddaughter, Amy Fisher and husband Brad of Middletown and their child Maddox; three brothers, G. Frank Summers and wife Ann of Westminster, James H. Summers and wife Virginia of Mount Airy and Oscar F. Summers and wife Barbara of Thurmont; five sisters, Evelyn M. Mossburg and Lydia B. Miller, both of Ijamsville, Phyllis H. Horman and husband Lewis of Hagerstown, Betty C. Hayward of St. Louis, Mo. and Mary E. Keeney of Frederick, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert C. Summers and Elwood L. Summers; and four sisters, Grace I. Schlesinger, Elsie M. Cole, Frances J. Main and Ruth L. Fisher.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, with the family receiving from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Charles G. Beekley, pastor of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Interment will be in the Clustered Spires cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Keeney family, in c/o, 3614 Tuck Ave., Point of Rocks, MD 21777.

Mrs. Jane Seibel

Mrs. Jane Leishear Seibel, of Damascus, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney. She was born March 7, 1927.

She was the beloved wife of Charles T. Seibel. In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her sister, Priscilla Roth; daughters, Margaret Lynne Seibel, Charlene Seibel Edwards; and son, John Miller Seibel; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and an abundance of family and gracious friends.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Carmel cemetery.

Mr. Everett Balsam

Everett Balsam, of Frederick, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008.

He was the beloved husband of Sandra Balsam; loving father of Seth (Kimberly Brooks) Balsam, Samuel and Jessica Balsam; dear brother of Sydelle Wax.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, Clarksburg. The family will receive friends at the home of Seth and Kimberly immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Stroke Association, P.O. Box 9343, Silver Spring, MD 20916-9343.

Arrangements are by Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home, Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Eileen E. Giampapa-Polesky

Mrs. Eileen E. Giampapa-Polesky, 84, of Frederick, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Elvin E. Polesky.

Born April 30, 1924 in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Irving and Blanche (Main) Lortz.

Mrs. Giampapa-Polesky was a member of the Victory Christian Center, Frederick.

Eileen was known for her excellent cooking and enjoyed entertaining, opening her home to her family and friends, and sharing her homemade dishes.

Surviving beside her husband are two daughters, Donna Crutchley and husband Meredith, Joyce Sandusky and husband Curtis, all of Frederick; a step-son, Ronald W. Polesky and wife Bonnie of Walkersville; one grandson, Steven G. Hodges and wife Melinda; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Christian, Zachary and Megan Hodges.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William and a sister, Phillys.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Victory Christian Center, 7722 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick, with Pastor Michael D. Garland officiating, assisted by Rev. Sam Rust and Rev. Warren Rice. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bradley Bailey

Mr. Bradley James Bailey, 46, of Frederick, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2008.

Bradley was born Dec. 23, 1961, at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah and was the son of Ella Sue Hemner Bailey, of Frederick, and the late James Arthur Bailey.

He spent his growing up years in Laurel and enjoyed many happy days in the Prince George's County School System and was active in sports and was an accomplished little league baseball player where he excelled as a catcher.

Brad had a veracious love of reading and was never without a book and loved to share his books which were mostly about history and the military. He also loved all living things and enjoyed his cat, called Kitty, who lived to be 22 years old.

Many days were spent at the football and baseball stadiums in Baltimore and he was an avid Orioles, Colt and Ravens fan. His love of sports and Alabama football gave him many days of pleasure and he loved to share his passion of football with his friends, family and especailly his mother.

As a young man, he decided to join the United States Marine Corps where he spent six dedicated years. Love of country and pride in the corps was embedded in his overall being each day of his life. He was stationed at 29 Palms, Calif., where he was an expert rifleman and was trained in desert warfare.

After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he returned to Maryland and graduated with his Associates Degree from Prince George's Community College as a nuclear medicine technologist. His career in the medical field brought him to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he worked for five years.

His love of all living things gave him a chance to help others who came to him in the hospital. Taking care of his patients as a nuclear medicine technician made him feel proud.

Brad was an only child and was dedicated to his mother. He watched over her and was happy to have her near him, where they shared many football games, meals and lots of laughter. He also loved traveling, as it was a major part of his life. He always brought back trinkets from games to give to his friends and family.

He was a member of the Laurel American Legion, Post 60 and the Laurel Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Bradley loved his family and the great extended family in Alabama, Maryland and Utah.

He is survived by his mother and a number of aunts, Maxine Hemner Everett of Greenville, N.C., Lorraine Bailey Reddy of Bethesda, Kathryn Bailey Nelson of Ogden, Utah, Helen Hemner Panter of Atlanta, Ga., Nancy Roberts Hemner of Birmingham, Ala., Charlotte Leverton of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Jacquelyn Light Hemner of Jasper, Ala., and numerous cousins. Brad will also be remembered and missed by his many friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Powell Simpson Hemner, Hyman Hoyt Hemner, Col. Robert H. Hemner, Sam Harvey Hemner and Reuben Oscar Everett.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, from Frederick Church of the Nazarene, 7899 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The Rev. Dr. Robert E. Steinke, director of pastoral care, Frederick Memorial Hospital, will officiate.

Inurnment of Bradley's remains will be beside his father at Oak Hill cemetery, Jasper, Ala., and close to the final resting place of his grandparents and many uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in the name of Bradley Bailey to the Frederick Memorial Hospital, Radiology Department, 400 W. Seventh St., Frederick, MD 21701.

Arrangements are by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.

Mr. David Baer

David Eugene Baer, 57, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Kline Hospice House in Frederick.

He was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Charles Town, W.Va. and was the son of the late Curtis Lee Baer and Luella Norris Baer.

He attended the Millville Pentecostal Church.

He was a 20-year member of Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Company No. 19.

He is survived by one sister, Virginia Lee Baer Hagan and husband, Gerald, of Brunswick; three brothers, Bradley E. Baer and wife, Monica, of Charles Town, W.Va., William E. Baer and wife, Christine, of York, Pa., and Donald R. Baer and wife, Donna, of Kearneysville, W.Va.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, I-340 and Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, W.Va., with Father Mark Lewis officiating.

Interment will be in Brownsville Heights cemetery in Brownsville.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702-1799.
