Mr. Paul Kindle

Mr. Paul R. (Jughead-Junior) Kindle, 59, of Belair Road, Baltimore, died Monday Dec. 15, 2008, in Baltimore.

Born Oct. 15, 1949, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William L. and Kathryn V. (Himes) Kindle.

He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School Class of 1967, owner and operator of Paul's Landscaping Service and a member of Chestnut Grove Church Of God in Chestnut Grove.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Verna L. (Adams) Kindle, whom he married Feb. 14, 1977; daughter, Charmaine Herrington of Augusta, Ga.; son, Tyrone Morris of Baltimore; sister, Ruth V. Wallace of Middletown; brothers, David L. Kindle of Tuson, Ariz., William M. Stine of Charlotte, N.C. and Edward L. Stine of Tuson, Ariz.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother, Robert E. Himes.

There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, from the Church of the Transfiguration, Braddock Heights, with the Rev. Henry Sabetti officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Paul to the Church of the Transfiguration Columbarium Fund, 6909 Maryland Ave., Braddock Heights, MD 21714.

Arrangements are by J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Mrs. Helen Ogle

Mrs. Helen Madeline Ogle, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at her daughter's home in King and Queen Courthouse, Va. She was 91 years old.

A former resident of Creagerstown, she was a homemaker and the widow of Robert B. Ogle. She is survived by her children, M. Jean Myers and R. Benjamin Ogle, both of Thurmont, Margaret Dehoff of Hanover, Pa., and Mary Lynn Kesterson of King and Queen Courthouse, Va.; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Mary Hendricks of Lansdowne, and one brother, Mr. Lee Barrick of Frizzelsburg.

Helen and her late husband, together, owned and operated a dairy operation for over forty years at Middle Woods Farm. She was very active in church and community activities, having been a life-long member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church and served as president of the Willing Workers for many years. She served as chairman of the group's apple butter fundraiser until 2006. She was a member of the Rocky Ridge Fire Company, Ladies Auxillary, life member of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxillary, member of the Frederick County Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader for many years. She will always be remembered for her exceptional cooking and homemaking skills, generosity and kindness.

Mrs. Ogle was preceded in death by son, Terry L. Ogle; grandsons, Matthew David Trout and Bryan Benjamin Ogle; and siblings, Frances Stonesifer, Lois Patricia Barrick and Kenneth W. Barrick.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick MD 21702 or Hospice of Virginia, P.O. Box 2098, Tappahannock, VA 22560. Services and interment will be private.

Mrs. Donna D. Connors

Mrs. Donna D. Connors, 76, of Westminster died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.

Born July 2, 1932, she was the wife of the late Donald J. Connors, who died in March 2006.

She taught English in the Carroll County school system for many years and was proud to be a teacher.

Surviving is her brother, George P. DeCourcy of DePere, Wis.; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Steven Middleton of Vienna, W.Va., and Erin and David Kelly of Taneytown. She has one grandson, one step-granddaughter and two step-grandsons.

Funeral arrangements and interment will be private. There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements are by Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

Mrs. Billie Zoe Fox

Mrs. Billie Zoe Fox, of Middletown, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Kenneth M.W. Fox, her loving husband of 34 years.

Born Oct. 10, 1946, in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of Iris Belle Wells McCrea and the late Willard Patchin Campbell.

Billie was a well known realtor, working in Frederick County for the past 30 years. She was the owner of the Fox Realty Group which she founded in June of 1989. She was a member of Frederick County Association of Realtors. She received the Round Table Club Award for sales from 1988 to 2002 and the Round Table Club Award for listings in 1988 and 1989. She also received the Distinguished Service Award in 2000 and was top producer in both listings and sales in 1985. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Frederick County Board of Realtors in 1988.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends. Her favorite vacation destinations were Skyline Drive and Disney World. She loved to play bingo and slot machines. She enjoyed sitting at Culler Lake in Frederick, watching the ducks and eating lunch with her husband. Every Sunday she played board games with her mother and brother.

Surviving besides her spouse are two children, Steve M. Fox of Frederick, and Kenneth W. Fox of Middletown; her mother, Iris Belle Wells McCrea of Frederick; two brothers, David Campbell and Bruce Campbell; very close friend, Terry Taylor of Frederick; sister-in-law, Virginia Burner and husband, John, of Frederick, and mother-in-law, Ida Marie Fox of Frederick. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Cathy Campbell.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the chapel at Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Anjel Scarborough of Calvary Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Her family requests memorial donations be made in her name to the American Diabetes Foundation or Calvary Methodist Church, 133 W. Second St., Frederick, MD 21701.

Mrs. Ruth Ann Roberts

Mrs. Ruth Ann Roberts, 68, of Frederick, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at the Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy. She was the wife of Glenn T. Roberts.

Born March 11, 1940, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Walter Raymond and Margaret Stine Specht.

Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker, had a great love of horses and driving horses. She was a member of Rose Hill Carriage Society and the Central Maryland Saddle Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Randy Roberts and wife, Victoria of Pittsburgh, Pa., and grandchildren, Caitlin and Jesse Roberts.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Stauffer Funeral Home, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Dec. 22. The Rev. Lloyd Fuss will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

Mr. John Alfred Shryock

Mr. John Alfred Shryock, 93, of Taneytown, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at his home.

Born April 25, 1915, in Keysville, he was the son of the late Harvey and Bertha (Stonesifer) Shryock. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary Margaret (Burdner) Shryock in 2003.

Mr. Shryock was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during World War II. He worked for many years as a machinist at the Littlestown Foundry. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Taneytown and a member of the Holy Name Society of the church. He was also a member of the American Legion Hesson Snider Post 120, Taneytown.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne "Bonnie" and Donald Staub, and Patricia "Patty" Shryock-Smith and Michael Smith, all of Taneytown; a niece, Joann Sell of Taneytown; and two nephews, James Sell of Taneytown, and Richard Sell of Baltimore.

He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Sell.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with his pastor, the Rev. Msgr. Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Keysville Union cemetery, Keymar. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Keysville cemetery Fund, c/o Mr. Jerry Devilbiss, 2540 Roop Road, Taneytown, MD 21787.

Mrs. Marjorie Williams Spaulding

Mrs. Marjorie Williams Spaulding of Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick, formerly of Sun City Center, Fla., and a 35 year resident of Gaithersburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2008. She was 86 years old.

She was the loving wife of the late Arthur E. Spaulding for more than 60 years.

Mrs. Spaulding is survived by two children, Philip W. Spaulding and wife, Martha of Marco Island, Fla., and Shelley S. Johnson and husband, Gerald of Frederick.

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandson, James C. Johnson and wife, Melissa; and granddaughter, Rebecca S. Cook and husband, Dustin. She has two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Ava. She will also be remembered by her sister, Janet Galusha, family and friends.

Mrs. Spaulding was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur E. Williams; and grandson, Geoffrey Spaulding.

While living in Gaithersburg, she was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and retired as a registrar at Gaithersburg Middle School. In Florida she was active in the Flower Arrangers Club and received many awards for her efforts.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Homewood at Crumland Farms, 7401 Willow Road, Frederick. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. and a reception will follow at Homewood.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Arthur E. Spaulding, '42 Memorial Scholarship in memory of Marjorie W. Spaulding, Green Mountain College, One Brennan Circle, Poultney, VT 05764.

Mrs. Joan E. Angleberger

Mrs. Joan E. Angleberger, 63, of Adamstown, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008. She was the loving wife of 34 years to Gene Angleberger.

Born Oct. 27, 1945, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Merhl 'Doc' and Betty Kirby Perkins.

Mrs. Angleberger was a lifetime resident of Frederick and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Frederick. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting and her time spent with her dogs Joe Boy and Jazzy.

In addition to her husband, Gene, Mrs. Angleberger is survived by daughters, Holly Huff and husband, Mike of Bowie, Lorie Huff and husband, Tim of Waldorf, and Taunya Thomas and husband, Steven of Frederick; grandchildren, Heather, Crystal and Christopher; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Angleberger was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Rowe.

Visitation with family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at the Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 4141 N. Henderson Road, Suite 3, Arlington, VA 22203.

Mr. David Flight

Mr. David Flight, 69, Frederick, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born in Forfar, Scotland in 1939, he was the son of the late David and Isabella Flight, stepson of the late David Smith, and beloved partner for 38 years of Mr. Bauer Knight.

Mr. Flight graduated in Scotland with a degree in hotel management, and then emigrated to the United States in 1962 where he was butler and secretary to the family of an American ambassador. He served as private secretary to prominent Washington, D.C. hostess, Mrs. Robert Low Bacon, and later to another Washington family.

In 1976, he was a founding partner of Knight-Flight Oriental Antiques and Arts, and in 1997 he co-founded Tibetan Spirit, a Himalayan Buddhist import firm, which was sold in 2004. Mr. Flight traveled widely around the world for both business and pleasure, and was especially fond of Venice, Italy and India. He was a longtime member and leader at the Tibetan (Buddhist) Meditation Center in Frederick.

During his life, he spent countless hours working for the benefit of others, and leaves behind many whose hearts were touched by his kindness and compassion.

Mr. Flight was cremated in a private religious ceremony, and a prayer service was held at the Tibetan Meditation Center. He specifically requested that people celebrate his life with joy, and devote themselves to compassionate activities which benefit others.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice, or the Achi Fund of the Tibetan Meditation Center, 9301 Gambrill Park Road, Frederick, MD 21702 in support of Tibetan Buddhist monks and nuns in India and Tibet.

Mr. Nathan McDaniel

Nathan Gene McDaniel, 40, of Frederick, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, of a heart related issue. Nathan was born in Winchester, Va. on Dec. 11, 1968, as the son of Maxine L. and Gene A. McDaniel and was preceded in death by his mother in October 1994.

Nathan was a 1988 graduate of Handley High School and a 1993 graduate of Shepherd University. After graduation, Nathan embarked on a career with Citicorp, Frederick, where he attained the position of the supervisor of Workable Solutions -- Homeowners Assistance Team. Nathan was endeared by the staff he served with, and was always willing to lend a hand to a friend or a total stranger in need.

He was loved by all who knew him and surely will be missed by many.

Nathan is survived by his father and step-mother Gene A. and Jill C. McDaniel; one sister, Melanie Nesselrodt of Winchester; two brothers, Brady and Shawn McDaniel, both of Winchester; one step-sister, Doji Dove of Reading, Pa.; foster brother, Rick Sterner of the USMC serving in Iraq; and his two beloved cats, Mina and Casey. He was also blessed with 11 nieces and nephews and two great-nephews.

Nathan was an avid animal lover and volunteered countless hours at the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County, where he cared for and fostered many cats that were eventually adopted.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester, Va. Pastor Mike Mayton will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service until 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, direct donations in Nathan's name to the Animal Welfare League of Frederick Co., P.O. Box 690, Frederick, MD 21705-0690.

He will always be remembered for his selfless acts of kindness and his legacy will continue forever.
