Ms. Bettymae Sine

Ms. Bettymae L. A. Sine, 74, of Brunswick, formerly of Middletown, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Northampton Manor Nursing Center, Frederick.

Born Jan. 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Sine. Ms. Sine was a retired worker for both the Washington, D.C., and Maryland state governments.

Surviving are brothersDonald W. Sine of Belleair Bluff, Fla., and Douglas L. Sine of Walkersville; a sister, Virginia Hedges of Silver Spring; as well as her longtime companion, Robert Wheeler of Brunswick; special friends, Sam and Vivian Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ms. Sine was preceded in death by brothers Chester L. Sine and Charles W. Sine Jr., and sisters Anne L. Tresek and Ethel J. Sine.

Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.

Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Brunswick.

Mr. Bradley Durst

Bradley C. Durst, 49, of Frederick, died unexpectedly Friday, April 10, 2009.

Born Feb. 17, 1960, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Richard and Joanne Durst of Potomac. Bradley graduated from Wootton High School, Class of 1979, and received a bachelor of arts in history from Western Maryland College in 1983. He was a devoted husband and loving father, and an avid outdoorsman and conservationist who loved to fish and hunt. A longtime teacher in the Frederick County Public Schools, he helped start the Urbana Elementary School Wetlands Project. His interest in American history extended to all U.S. wars; the center of his life, however, was his two daughters, Bethany and Brandy.

In addition to his parents, Bradley is survived by his wife, Robin Durst; his daughters, Bethany and Brandy Durst; brothers, Jeffrey S. Durst (Jeanne) and Steven Durst (Catherine); a niece, Maggie Durst; and other relatives and friends.

Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, at Araby United Methodist Church, 4548 Araby Church Road, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bradley's memory may be made to Urbana Elementary School, Wetlands Project, 3554 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704, or to the American Heart Association by visiting AmericanHeart.org, or calling 800-242-8721.

Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody, P.A., Frederick.

Mr. James Reynolds

James Edward Reynolds, 62, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 15, 1947, in Brunswick, as the son of Marian L. Green Reynolds of Knoxville and the late Lester Lee Reynolds Sr.

He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1582 of Brunswick and enjoyed NASCAR racing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, James L. Reynolds and wife, Julie, of Brunswick, and William J. Reynolds of Leesburg, Va.; two brothers, Clyde "Dickie" Reynolds of Sandy Hook and Charles A. Reynolds of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Kelsey Lynn Reynolds and Jayne Leigh Reynolds. He is also survived by his good friends, Vince St. John and Andy Conrad.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester "Leechel" Reynolds Jr.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the funeral home; Pastor Tim May will officiate. Interment will be in St. Marks cemetery in Petersville.

Pallbearers will be James Reynolds, William Reynolds, Andrew Conrad, Vince St. John, Greg Hellmuth and Nicholas Schauer.

Mr. Clark Keeney

Mr. Clark Leslie Keeney, 73, of Keymar, passed peacefully on March 30, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Frederick.

Clark was the son of the late Leslie Levi and Viola Marie Ohler Keeney of Walkersville.

Clark is survived by his wife, Cathy A. Keeney of Keymar; a daughter, Toni Tiller Johnson and husband, Jeremy; and grandchildren, Ryan, Cameron and Sarah of Chambersburg, Pa.; in-laws, John F. and Alberta Bradley and children; brothers and sisters-in-law, of upstate Pennsylvania; son, Troy; and daughters, Stacey, Deana and Allison, and special sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and David Smith of Walkersville. He will be remembered by dear friends Leonard and Maggie Rice of Walkersville, John and Debbie Taulton of Brunswick, and Roy F. and Mary Smith of Thurmont, as well as all the friends who visited with him during his illness.

Clark was born in Walkersville and graduated from Walkersville High, served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne, and returned to Maryland to become a third-generation stone mason.

Clark loved fishing, especially with Leonard, country music and karaoke. He played softball with the Alleycats, bowled with the Ken Grimes bowling team, played soccer with the Mason Dixon League, coached the Avalon Rest. softball team, and was breakfast chairman at American Legion Post 282 for many years. He was a member of American Legion Post 282 Woodsboro, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2226, Littlestown, Pa. and will be remembered by his many friends and karaoke fans at each.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Woodsboro American Legion Post 282. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Clark L. Keeney Memorial Fund, c/o Woodsboro American Legion Post 282, 101 W. Elizabeth St., Woodsboro, MD 21798.

Mr. Jack Woods

Mr. Jack Russell Woods, 72, of Thurmont, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Elsie E. "Miss Kitty" Biddinger Woods, whom he married Dec. 22, 1987.

Born Sept. 29, 1936, in Poolesville, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Mary V. Waddle Woods.

Mr. Woods served with the U.S. Army on tour in Korea and three tours in Vietnam, where he received the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm Leaf, the Air Medal, and a Bronze Star. He had been employed with his brother in a furnace and air conditioning business in Graceham and for many years was a heavy equipment operator with Arnold Parreco & Sons, until his retirement in 1973.

He later was employed as a part-time bartender at Miss Kitty's Airport Inn. He often said that he was a "Jack of all trades and master of none." Mr. Woods was a member of the Edwin Creeger Jr. Post #168 American Legion, Thurmont. He loved bluegrass and country music.

Surviving besides his wife are his children, Virginia "Ginger" E. DeSanto, Carol R. "MD-Cookie" and husband, Thomas "Tommy" Graham, all of Frederick, Leona M. "VA-Cookie" and husband, Joseph M. "Joe" Fleming, of Starr Tannery, Va., Kay and husband, Gordon R. Dodd, of Mount Pleasant, and Leonard J. "Lenny" and wife, Frannie E. Crouse Jr., of Walkersville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Beanie and husband, Lee Streams, of Thurmont, Dorothy "Duty" Gregg and Jane and husband, Jimmy Fry, all of Marriot Island, Fla., and Jennie Woods of Blunttown, Fla., Mary Ellen Trainhan of Louisa, Va. and Samuel Woods of North Carolina; brother-in-law, William Biddinger Jr. and wife, Ruby, and family. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He will also be remembered by his close friends, James D. "Bear" DeSanto and M. Dawn Hahn of Frederick. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ollie V. Woods, "Bobby" Woods, Florabelle Ward, Charles "Dickie" Woods and William "Billy" Woods.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Robert E. Dailey and Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 E. Main St., Thurmont.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, at the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Mr. Wood's grandson, Spec.4 Matt Dodd, U.S. Army will participate. Bearers will be Bear DeSanto, Tommy Graham, Big Joe Fleming, Little Joe Fleming, Gordon Dodd Sr., and Robbie Dodd Jr., Matthew Dodd and Mike Burkett.

Mr. Lincoln Arrowwood Tibbs

Mr. Lincoln Arrowwood Tibbs, 44, of Milton, Fla., and formerly of Poolesville, died Sunday, March 29, 2009. He was the husband of Cynthia Tibbs of Poolesville.

Born Aug. 19, 1964, in Olney, he was a son of Fannie V. Tibbs of Milton, Fla., and the late Albert Arrowwood Tibbs.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are stepfather, Fred Loper of Milton; daughter, Laura Tibbs; and son, Michael Tibbs, all of Poolesville; a sister, April of Virginia; a brother, Monty Tibbs of New York; three stepsisters; a significant other, Gail Fay and her children, of Milton; and numerous other friends and relatives.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Molesworth Williams P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time. Inurnment will be private.

The family suggests that cards and donations be mailed to them at 17678 Kohlhoss Road, Poolesville, MD 20837.

Mrs. Frances Elaine Myers

Frances Elaine Myers (nee Duvall), 53, of Westminster, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster.

She was born Sept. 1, 1956, in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Harry Windsor Duvall Sr. and the late Hazel Oland Duvall.

She was the wife of the late Roy Michael Myers.

She was a medicine aide for Glade Valley and Pleasant View Nursing Homes. She enjoyed karaoke and bingo.

She was the mother of Michelle Lynn Reed of Westminster; Jeramy Logsdon was the son she never had; grandmother of Robert Golden, Jaden Golden and Jasmine Reed; and sister of Pearl Hett of Westminster, and Harry Duvall Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Woodbine. She was predeceased by brother-in-law, Carl E. Hett Sr. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, John Hett and wife, Heather, and their son, Ben; Carl Hett Jr. and Hazel Hett, all of Westminster; and Jacob Duvall and Jennifer Duvall, both of Woodbine.

Her lifetime best friend, Joyce Garible of Thurmont, also survives her.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., with the Rev. O.F. "Bud" Kibbe officiating.

Interment will be in Morgan Chapel UM Church cemetery, Woodbine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the family.

Mr. William Haag Sr.

Mr. William Anthony Haag Sr., 80, of Ijamsville, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Montgomery General Hospital, Olney. He was the husband of the late Dolores Mary Harrison Haag, who preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2006.

Born Nov. 15, 1928, in Washington, he was a son of the late Henry S. Sr. and Antoinette E. Raab Haag. He graduated from McKinley Tech High School, Washington, in 1948, and served in the United States Army. He retired with 29 years of service with the Government Printing Office in 1984.

Mr. Haag was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Monrovia, and a member of the American Legion Post 171, Damascus.

He was a great outdoorsman from an early age. Not only did he enjoy gardening, hunting, boating and fishing, but training bird dogs as well. One of his greatest joys in later years was deer hunting with his grandsons.

Surviving is his son, William A. Haag Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Ijamsville; two grandsons, Billy and Ryan; a brother, Robert Haag Sr. and wife, Barbara, of Bowie; and sister-in-law, Wanda Haag of Silver Spring.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry S. Haag Jr.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, from his church, St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Monrovia. The Rev. Michael J. Jendrek will offer prayers.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

Mr. John Naurot

Mr. John William Naurot, 60, of Sykesville, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his daughter's home in Sykesville. Born March 15, 1949, in Sykesville, he was the son of the late John F. and Theresa Bassler Naurot. He was the husband of Carol A. Schubert Naurot of Sykesville.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the Green Beret Special Forces in Vietnam. He had been an estimator/engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers. He loved golfing, planting flowers, spending time with family, horse racing and field hockey.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters and sons-in-law, Terri L. and Tim E. Ridenour of Thurmont, and Christine N. and David H. McCormick of Sykesville; grandchildren, Brooke and Lexie Ridenour, both of Thurmont, and Drew and Emma McCormick, both of Sykesville; and by two sisters.

He was predeceased by his brother, James Naurot.

Funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, at the Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. There will be no visitation on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name, may be directed to Dr. Christine Hann's research at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Checks should be made payable to Johns Hopkins Medicine and mailed to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 100 N. Charles St., Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Mr. Robert Eugene Monroe

Mr. Robert Eugene Monroe, 63, of Frederick, entered into eternal rest suddenly Thursday, April 9, 2009.

Born March 17, 1946, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Thomas T. and Bessie Monroe. Robert graduated from Damascus High School in 1964, and worked most of his adult life in the security field. He retired from the Maryland National Capital Park Police after 241Ú2 years as a dispatcher. He was an avid Redskins fan and he enjoyed travel.

Mr. Monroe is survived by four brothers and two sisters, Thomas L. Monroe and wife, Ophelia, of York, Pa., Brenda Stewart, Doris Monroe, Charles Monroe, John Monroe and wife, Christine, and Joseph Monroe and wife, Vallet, all of Frederick; his very close friend, Patricia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Monroe was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley M. Dorsey.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Asbury United Methodist Church, W. All Saints and Court streets, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Erma Dyson will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Floral tributes are welcome and may be delivered to Resthaven (9501 U.S. 15 N., Frederick), or donations in Robert's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody, P.A., Frederick.
