Donald E. Reed, Jr., 54 of Kensington, MD, died Friday January 5, 2007 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD after an extended battle with Cancer. He was born February 10, 1952 in Washington, D.C. the son of Donald E. Reed, Sr. of Kensington and the late Genevieve Kornacki Reed. Mr. Reed worked for the United States Post Office, Brentwood Branch, Washington, D.C. Mr. Reed graduated from Albert Einstein High School, Attended Montgomery Community College and graduated from Saint Mary’s College. Mr. Reed enjoyed Fencing in his college years. He achieved the Rank of Star Scout in the Boy Scouts. Mr. Reed Refereed Soccer and Volleyball for Montgomery County Recreation Council. Mr. Reed was dearly loved by his 17 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Sister and Brother-in-law Martha and Gary Rhine of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Sister and Brother-in-law Stephanie and Jeff Williams of Middleton, WI, Sister and brother-in-law Betsy and Robert Molyneaux of Gaithersburg, MD, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Terry Reed of Castine ME. Brother and sister-in-law David and Kim Reed of Eldersburg. A Memorial Mass will be said on Tuesday January 9, 2007 at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, at the intersection of Dunster and Falls Roads. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to johns Hopkins Weinberg Center, 401 North Broadway Baltimore, MD 21231.

Linda L. Kunkowski (nee Leard), age 57 of Eldersburg, died Friday, January 12, 2007 at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown. She was born September 18, 1949 in Medford, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Lloyd W. Leard, Jr. and the late Jane (nee Watkins) Calhoun. She was a homemaker. Wife of Joseph G. Kunkowski. Mother of Melinda Horner of Upperco. Dear sister of Alan Leard of Ellicott City. Step sister of Lewis Calhoun, Jr. of FL. Also survived by Step father Lewis Calhoun, Sr. and step grandson Henry John Horner IV. Funeral Service Tuesday January 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School ) with Pastor Michael C. Adams of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Upperco officiating. Interment Lake View Memorial Park. Frizzell, Ruth M.
Ruth M. Frizzell (nee Magers), age 87, of Mt. Airy, died Friday January 12, 2007 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mt. Airy. She was born March 25, 1919 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Howard G. Magers and the late Evelyn I. Magers (nee Smith). She was a seamstress for Rombor Brothers in Mt. Airy ; worked the Salad Bar at Food-Rite in Mt. Airy, Member of the choir at Howard Chapel-Ridgeville U.M. Church in Mt. Airy, Enjoyed her children and grandchildren and bingo and traveling to Chincoteague and Atlantic City. She was wife of the late Paul L. Frizzell. Mother of Nancy-Lee D. Fisher & husband Joe of Mt. Airy, Donald P. Frizzell & wife Sheila of Mt. Airy and Ronald H. Frizzell & wife Frances of Mt. Airy. Sister of Emma Snowden of Mt Airy and Orvil A. Magers of Frederick and the late Howard C. Magers, Edna Gartrell and Sylvia Beall. Also survived by grandchildren; Heather & Wayne Whitten of Burtonsville, Ryan Frizzell of Woodbine, Bethany Fisher of Mt. Airy and the late Crystal Frizzell Whitten. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday January 16, 2007 at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Franklin Bishop. Interment Pine Grove cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD. Millard S. Shipley, age 72, of Woodbine, died Monday January 15, 2007 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD. He was born July 8, 1934 in Taylorsville, MD the son of the late Stuart H. Shipley and the late Annie F. Shipley (nee Schellar). He was the husband of Elizabeth M. Shipley (nee Dewell). He was a Maintenance Supervisor for Grady Management. He was a longtime member and member of the board of trustees of St. James U.M. Church in Dennings. He was the father of Thelma A. Guzman and husband Charles L. of Sykesville. He was the brother of Robert Shipley of Keymar, Raymond and Kenneth Shipley both of Thurmont and the late Edna F. Shipley. Loving Grandfather of Charles H. Guzman of Baltimore. Dubbert, Sr., Sterling W.
Sterling William Dubbert, Sr., 46 of Woodbine, MD, died on Tuesday January 16, 2007. He was born April 20, 1960 in Montgomery County, MD the son of the Shirley Yvonne Harrison Dubbert of Woodbine and the late William Frederick Dubbert, Jr. He was a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed working and riding his motorcycle. Surviving in addition to his mother are Brother and David Allen Dubbert and David’s fiancé Katy Butcher of Woodbine, MD. He is predeceased by Son: Sterling William Dubbert, Jr. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday January 20, 2007 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Wong, Gloria
Gloria Chan Wong, 76 of Mt. Airy formerly of Oakland, Ca, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Carroll Hospice House. She was the spouse of Raymond H. Wong of Mt. Airy. Mrs. Wong was born May 27, 1930 in Oakland, CA the daughter of the late Frank and Ida Quan Chan. She was a bookkeeper for Hoy Chang and Company for over 29 years. She also worked as a Corporate Account specialist for Bank of America. Mrs. Wong was an avid Investor and a member of Faith Community Church in Mount Airy, MD. Mrs. Wong and her husband moved to Mt. Airy 3 years ago from Oakland to be closer to her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are Son and Daughter-in-law Winston and Jane Wong of Eldersburg, MD, Grandson: Nathan Wong and Granddaughter Tricia Wong both of Eldersburg, Also survived by Brothers Herman Chan of Castro Valley, Renold Chan of Danville, CA Preceded in death by Brother Alvin Chan of San Francisco. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday 5:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Lance Richard Diamond, Sr., 44 of Mt. Airy, MD, died Thursday January 18, 2007 at his home in Mt. Airy, MD. He was born August 18, 1962 in Washington D.C. the son of James Eugene Diamond, Jr. of Clermont, FL and Victoria Gall Diamond of Land O’ Lakes, Fl. Mr. Diamond was employed by the University of MM at College Park s a Multi-Trade Supervisor. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Surviving in addition to his parents are Son : Lance Richard Diamond, Jr. and daughter Lisa Anne Diamond both of Mt. Airy Brother and Sister-in-law James Eugene Diamond III and Peggy of Frederick, Nieces Kirstin and Kelsey Diamond and Nephew James Diamond IV all of Frederick. Hett, Jr., Foster C.
Foster Carlton Hett, Jr., age 70, of Winfield, died Friday January 19, 2007 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD. He was born August 10, 1936 in Brookeville, MD the son of the late Foster C. Hett, Sr. and the late Elsie Duvall Hett. He was the husband of Margie Colson Hett of 52 years. He was a retired Supervisor from Howard County Highways and security Guard at Henrington Hospital. He loved playing music with friends and past member of Pure Country Band. He loved cutting his grass and spending time with his grandchildren. Survived by sons Dennis Wayne Hett, Sr. & Wife Nancy of Winfield and Terry Keyser of Winfield, daughters Connie Miller and Husband Ronald of Sykesville, Darlene Howes and fiancée Joseph Jarocki of Sykesville, Donna McDaniel and husband Neal of Winfield and Amy Louise Hett of Winfield and the late son Carl E. Hett, Sr. Also survived by half brother Ruben Hett and Wife Dorothy of Sandy Springs, MD. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Kaiser, Gregory A.
Gregory Alan Kaiser, age 55, of Taneytown, was called home to rest on Sunday January 21, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, MD. He was born January 18, 1952 in Frederick, MD the son of Ruth Theresa Kaiser (nee Weller) of Walkersville and the late Robert Henry Kaiser. He was the loving husband of Iva Jane Kaiser (nee Reall) of Taneytown for 32 years. He was retired Assistant Supervisor for Water Treatment for the City of Frederick for 35 years retiring in October 2006. He was the devoted father of Stephanie Kay Rock of Taneytown. He was the brother of James Craig Kaiser & Family of Frederick and the late Robert “Hank” Francis Kaiser. Also survived by many loved family members and friends. Proud grandfather of Logan Carter Rock of Taneytown. Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be on Friday January 26, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD with Fr. Hibble, Richard W.
Richard Wayne Hibble, age 49, of Mt. Airy, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his home. He was born September 6, 1957 in Bethesda, MD the son of Jeannette B. Hibble (nee Belfield) of Salisbury and the late Clarence U. Hibble, Jr. He graduated from Wheaton High School Class of 1975. He was a Master Plumber/Project Manager for Mallick Plumbing and Heating in Gaithersburg for 10 years. Graduate of Associated Building and Contractor, Graduate Piedmont Community College of Taxidermy. He was a member of the National Taxidermist Association, Maryland Taxidermist Association and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Extremely Proud Grandpa and a great friend to all. He was the father of Rikki Cruz of Ft. Hood, TX, and Shawn T. Hibble of Mt. Airy. He was the grandfather of Jaden M. Cruz of Ft. Hood, TX. He was the brother of Gregory L. Hibble of Chester, MD, Deborah J. Blake of Ocean Pines, MD and Thomas D. Hibble of Ocean City, MD. He was the beloved boyfriend of Carrie Stewart of Mt. Airy, MD. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Mrs. Dobbins was born April 30, 1960 in Frederick, MD the daughter of the late John and Late Ressie Jefferson Mayes. She was a homemaker, Loving mother, Graduate of South Carroll High School, Attended Brandywine College, Enjoyed gardening, Cooking and canning. She also enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband and parting with her sister and brother. She was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are Son Michael P. Evans of Shallotte, NC, Daughter; Jessica Evans of NC, brother: John Mayes of Houston, TX and four sisters Charlotte J. Cassini of Boonsboro, Patricia Smesler of Union Bridge, MD Vickie S. Leahy of Mt. Airy, MD and Lisa J. Tompkins of Dravosburg, PA Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother Douglas C. Mayes. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2007 12 noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Wallace Lusk officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Independent Baptist Church cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD. Maranto, Charles A.
Charles Anthony Maranto, 74 of Pikesville formerly of Randallstown, MD, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at his niece’s home in Eldersburg. He was the spouse of 33 years to late Concetta Catonzaro Maranto. Mr. Maranto was born December 31, 1932 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Salvatore and Rosaria Citrano Maranto. He was retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric after 41 years of service. He is a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, A member of Turf Valley Country Club. He Served in the US Coast Guard was An Avid Golfer and Card Player, Loved Horse Racing, NFL Football, and a good joke. Surviving him are Step-son: Richard Ashburn of Baltimore, Sisters: Angelina Johe of Eldersburg, Nicolette and husband Fred Jessop of Catonsville. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by Brothers: Salvatore “Sam” Maranto, Jr and Tony C. “Nutzie” Maranto Joseph J. Maranto and Sisters: Concetta North and Vera Crawford. A Funeral Liturgy will be said Wednesday, January 31, 2007 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 9535 Liberty Rd.
