Father of Tisha Matheny and Johanna Doyle. Dear brother of Samuel and Kathie Alascia of Eldersburg, Michael and Susan Alascia, Sr. of Westminster, Dino Alascia of Westminster, Lisa and John Bierman of Westminster and the late Gina Wilder. Also survived by 2 half sisters Angela and Stacey. Catholic Prayers will be held Thursday July 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Fr. John Klobuka of St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer U.M. Church cemetery, Woodbine, MD. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Tues. 7-9 PM & Wednesday 3-5 & 7-9 PM.

Arthur Donald Smith, Jr. of Randallstown, died on Friday July 27, 2007. Beloved husband of 47 years to the late Ruth M.(nee Barnard) Smith. Devoted father of Janet Remmers, Susan Heckel and Mark Burton Smith. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mary Patricia Mayne (nee Blair), age 54 of Mt. Airy, died Sunday July 29, 2007 at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, MD. She was born May 3, 1953 in Olney, MD the daughter of the late Dwight Mason Blair and the late Bessie Stevens Blair. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching her family; husband and both sons Drag Racing. She enjoyed flowers and yard working. he was the wife of Joseph L. Mayne, Jr. She was the mother of Joseph L. Mayne III and Ryan Mayne both of Mt. Airy. She was the sister of Larry & wife Karen Blair of Mt. Airy, Earl and wife Patty Blair of Manchester, Sandra & Husband Dave Williar of Hampstead, and Joann & Husband Ronnie Wyatt of Sykesville. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters; Gladys Blair, Bill Blair, Bobby Blair, Girt Evans and Dicky Blair. Funeral Service will be Friday August 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Barnhart, Marcia A.
Marcia Ann Martin Barnhart, 49 of Mt. Airy formerly of Masontown, PA, died Thursday August 2, 2007 at home with her family. She was the spouse of Kenneth J. Barnhart. She was born October 3, 1957 in Uniontown, PA the daughter of the late Clarence Veach Martin and the late Dorothy Lee Fike Martin. She was President of CleveAly, LLC and a devoted mother and wife. Surviving in addition to her husband is Son: Cleveland Seel, III and wife Kim of Baltimore, Daughters: Alyson Bliss Barnhart of Mt. Airy, and Elspeth Prudence Barnhart of Mt. Airy, Son: Kenneth Mason Barnhart of Mt. Airy. Sister of Jeffrey V., David B., Frank E., Thomas H. Martin and Nancy L. Kelley. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday August 5, 2007 6 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Dennis E. Yocum of Calvary UMC, Mt. Airy officiating. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 PM until 6 PM. A Memorial Service in Masontown, PA to be announced at a later date. Caple, Gerald W.
Gerald W. Caple, 83 of Halethorpe, MD, died Friday, Aug 10, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was the spouse of Ferne Elizabeth Germuth Caple of Halethorpe. Mr. Caple was born January 23, 1924 in Halethorpe, MD the son of the late William W. and late Laura Amelia Brauning Caple. Mr. Caple before retiring was the owner and operator of John G. Hetzell and Son in Baltimore, MD. He was also an antique car enthusiast. Mr Caple was a US Army WWII Veteran. Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughter and son-in-law, Brenda L and Ronald C. Deegan of Sykesville. Granddaughter and her husband Abigail L. and Manuel J. Orellana of Hanover, PA and Great-grandson Elisha M Orellana. Funeral Services and Interment are private. Harrison, Nancy J.
Nancy Jane Harrison, 72 of Damascus, MD, died Sunday August 12, 2007 at Suburban Hospital. She was born August 6, 1935 in Woodbine, MD. The spouse of the late William Leroy Harrison. Mrs. Harrison was born August 6, 1935 in Woodbine, MD the daughter of the late Harry and late Gladys Condon Brightwell. She was employed at Shoppers Food Warehouse as a Deli Clerk. Surviving her are daughters Linda Gillingham of Pennsylvania, Vallia Hicks of West Virginia and Bille Jo Wilson of Mt. Airy and Son: Jeffrey Hicks of Damascus. Also survived by 2 grandchildren: Curtis Gillingham and Angela Jane Lyle. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday August 17, 2007 10 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Springs cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday August 16, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

Kearney, Leslie A.
Lesley Anne Kearney, 40 of Spring Grove, PA, died Tuesday August 14, 2007 at her home in Spring Grove, PA. She was the spouse of Raymond J. Kearney. Mrs. Kearney was born February 11, 1967 in Owings Mills, MD the daughter of late Leroy G. Baxter and Joan Mann Baxter Matthews and husband Nelson C. Matthews of Woodstock. Mrs. Kearney did Clerical work for a Health Care Facility in PA. She is survived in addition to her husband, Mother and Step- Father by Step-Children Jonathan and Karen Kearney of PA, Sisters Jacqueline Birmingham and Cynthia Auginbaugh both of Westminster, MD, Grandmother Evelyn G. Mann of Finksburg, MD, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted on Sunday August 19, 2007 8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 PM until 8 PM. Paul F. Johnson, Sr., age 80, of Baltimore, died Friday August 17, 2007 at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, MD. He was born January 29, 1927 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Philip Johnson and the late Lottie Driver Johnson. He was a school bus driver for Woodlawn Motor Coach in Woodlawn, MD. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He served in the US Navy from 1944-1946. He was a member of the Composite Lodge #212. He was the husband of Vivian L. Johnson (nee Stauffer). He was the father of Paul Frederick Johnson, Jr. of Carroll County and Denise Hess of Laurel. Brother of Rollins Johnson. Brother in law of Charles L. Stauffer and Gary Caplan. Also survived by 3 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Croft, Geraldine
Geraldine LaRue Frizzell Croft, age 80, of Hilton Head Island, SC, formerly of Taylorsville, MD died Friday August 17, 2007 at Palm Meadow Court. She was born on January 11, 1927 in Taylorsville, MD and was the daughter of the late Evelyn E. Young Frizzell and Jesse Loraine Frizzell. She moved to Hilton Head Island in 1981. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and a retired realtor. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Linda Croft-Shea and Peter Shea of Bradenton, FL, Two sons and daughters-in-law David and Hiayan Croft of Oak Hill, VA and John and Debra Croft of Hilton Head Island, SC and four grandchildren Zachary Frizzell Croft of Hilton Head Island, SC, Lorena, Catherine, Josh Croft all of Oak Hill, VA. Graveside Funeral Service will be held Wednesday August 22, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Taylorsville U.M. Church cemetery. She was born February 28, 1921 in Carroll County, Maryland the daughter of the late Charles A. Fleming and the late Josephine Sellman Fleming. She was the wife of Raymond N. Dorsey. She was a housewife. She was the mother of Thomas N. Dorsey of Woodbine, Charles Edward Dorsey of Westminster and the late Donnie Lee Dorsey. She was the sister of Edith Gartrell of Mt. Airy, Ruth Conaway of Mt. Airy, and the late Floyd Fleming, late Wilbur Fleming, late Walter Fleming and the late Roscoe Fleming. Also survived by 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Father of Robert Baker, Jr. & wife Judy of Sykesville, Billy Baker of Lisbon, Bonnie Baker of Westminster, Jimmy Baker & wife Jamie of Mt. Airy, Donny Baker & Wife Christine of Westminster. Brother of Albert Baker, Jr. of Westminster, Dorothy M. George of Frederick, and the late Raymond Baker. Also survived by daughter in law Lisa Baker of Mt. Dear brother of the late Sterling C. Lovell. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, caring friends and neighbors. Thomas, Sr., Robert H.
Mr. Robert Henry “Bud” Thomas, Sr., 76 of Mount Airy, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born on September 30, 1930 in Mount Airy, he was the son of the late Margie Taylor Thomas and late John Thomas. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Robert retired from Westinghouse as an electrical assembler and welder in Sykesville, MD. He also worked as a shop manager at Reed Brothers in Rockville and Woodfield Ford in Damascus. He was a member of Grace and Truth Bible Fellowship. He enjoyed watching football and the Baltimore Ravens. He is survived by his wife, Midge L. Thomas, Mount Airy; his children Robin Johnson and husband Harry of Mount Airy; Robert H. Thomas, Jr., and wife, Sandra, of Clarksburg; granddaughters Niya Yeboah and husband Emmanuel of Mount Airy; Rhianna L. Thomas and friend Ben Florian of Columbia; two grandsons, RhaaShan Johnson of Laurel and Brian Johnson of Winterville, NC; one great- grandson William-Joseph Robert Yeboah of Mount Airy; two brothers, Vernon Thomas of Ellicott City; and Norman Thomas of Baltimore. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by three sisters, Lavonia Thomas, Shirley Thomas, and Carrie Thomas and one brother Pete Thomas. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday August 29, 2007 11 AM at Grace and Truth Bible Fellowship, 11791 Fingerboard Rd #17 Monrovia, MD 21770 with the Rev. Harry W. Johnson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Friendship United Methodist Church cemetery, Damascus, MD. The Family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd.
