Mary A. Wright (nee Wetzel), age 84, of Woodbine, died Wednesday January 1, 2003, at Golden Age Guest Home, Sykesville, MD
She was born August 29, 1918 in Mt. Airy, Maryland the daughter of the late Howard Wetzel and the late Agnes Virginia Wetzel (nee Hoffmaster).
She was a retired Nursing Assistant at Springfield Hospital in Sykesville. She was a member of the Ebenezer Owls, Westminster Moose Lodge, Taylorsville U.M. Church and the Ladies Auxiliary at Winfield Vol. Fire Co.
She was the wife of late Truman Woodrow Wright.
She was the mother of Charlotte M. Chester of Arbutus, Ginny L. Jones of Sykesville, Linda W. Chrest of Florida, Marvin W. Wright of PA and the late William Wright.
Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sat. January 4, 2003 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. O.F. "Bud" Kibbe, Methodist clergy, officiating.
Interment Lake View Memorial Park
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Friday 3-5 & 7-9 PM Winfield Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary Service 7:30 PM

Died Friday January 3, 2003 at Carroll County General Hospital
She was the spouse of the late Charles Albert Will, Sr.
Mrs. Will was born July 9, 1923 in Baltimore, MD
She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Close and the late Elsie Rosalie Zepp Close.
She worked at Eldersburg Elementary School in food Service.
She was a Charter Member of Winfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
A member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Berrett, MD.
Surviving her are son : Charles A. Will Jr. of Winfield and son-in-laws Wayne Logue of Winfield and Kenny Stockdale of Woodbine. Grandchildren : Bonnie Lynn and Edward Stevens, Jr. of Westminster, Betsy Leigh and Joseph Crown of Westminster, MD, Becky Lou and Russell Logue-Ruckman of Winfield, Shawn Marie and Mike Franklin of Woodbine, Ronnie Wade and Patsy Will of Winfield, Robyn Joy and Scott Embrey of Mt. Airy, MD.
Great-grandchildren: Charlie Crown, Corey Franklin, Emileigh Crown, Kelsey Franklin, Lenny Logue Ruckman, Jaclyn Crown, Shelby Stevens Megan Embrey, Cody Stevens, Dalton Will, Carrie Embrey, Garret Will, Lane Logue-Ruckman.
Preceded in Death by Daughters Nancy Louise Stockdale and the late Darlene “ Peggy” Logue, and Sister the late Mary Alice Cook whom raised Mrs. Will and Daughter-in-law Virginia “Sissy” Will. Preceded in death by Brothers: Mervin Close, Luther Close, James and Ralph Close and Sister the Ethel Bell.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, January 6, 2002 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Elizabeth Senft of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.
Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM with a Winfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7:00 PM.
In Lieu of Flowers donation may be made to Winfield Volunteer Fire Company, 1320 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784

Audrey Bertha Murray Meeks 73 of Randallstown, MD
1929 - 2003
Died Saturday January 4, 2003 at Sinai Hospital.
She was born June 25, 1929 in Granite, MD
The daughter of the late John Edward Murray and the late Bertha E. Young Murray.
She was a secretary at various different schools while working for the Baltimore County Board of Education.
A life Member of Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, A Volunteer at Northwest Hospital Center, and also at Liberty Assistance Center. A Devoted member of Mount Olive U.M. Church where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving is her Son and daughter in-law Roger R. Meeks, Jr. and Carolyn of Eldersburg, Daughter and Son-in-law Michele and Denny Leppert of Gamber, MD
Loving Grandchildren: Todd and Jeffery Leppert both of Westminster, Melissa and Justin Meeks both of Eldersburg and 1 Great Granddaughter; Makenzie Leppert of Westminster. Preceded in death by sister Florence E. Murray and Brother John Ivan Murray and Grandson Timothy Michael Leppert.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Mt. Olive U.M. Church, 5113 Old Ct. Rd. Randallstown, MD at 10 AM with Pastor Shelia McCurdy officiating.
Interment to follow in church cemetery.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at MT. Olive U.M Church.
In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Mount Olive U.M. Church.

Hazel Anna Gartrell (nee Crawford), age 93, of Continuum Care, Sykesville, formerly of Westminster, MD died Wed. January 8, 2003, at Continuum Care in Sykesville,
She was born May 8, 1909 in Taylorsville, MD the daughter of the late William L. Crawford and the late Margaret H. Crawford (nee Franklin).
She was the wife of the late Floyd E. Gartrell who died February 20, 1969.
She worked at Jelless Department store as a sales person. Lived in Cottage City, MD till 1970 and then moved back to Carroll County.
Survived by great nephew William A. Crawford, Sr. of Gettysburg, PA, and great great nephew William A. Crawford Jr. of Gettysburg, PA
Also survived by 5 nieces and 6 nephews. Cousin Edith Skaggs of Cottage City, MD and 3 sisters in law Edith Gartrell of Mt.Airy, Arta Gartrell of New Windsor, and Ruby Louge of Mt. Airy.
Predeceased her was brothers the late Arthur and Carroll Crawford, nephew late William L. Crawford, late nieces Eileen and Margaret Crawford.
Funeral Service will be held Sat. January 11, 2003 at 12:00 noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. "Bud" Kibbe, Methodist clergy officiating.
Interment Taylorsville U.M. Church cemetery, Taylorsville, MD

Samuel R. Gehr 95, of Eldersburg, MD
1907 - 2003
Died Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Continuum Care at Sykesville.
Born July 26, 1907 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Harvey J. Gehr and Sudie Alice Shockey Gehr.
He lived in Waynesboro and Reading, PA and Baltimore and Eldersburg, MD. He graduated from Waynesboro High, attended Bucknell and graduated from the Cincinnati School of Embalming. He worked as a Funeral Director in Waynesboro, Reading and Baltimore. He also worked as a machinist for several companies in Baltimore.
He was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church of Randallstown, MD and a Master Mason with Liberty Lodge #219 A.F & A. M. of Cockeysville, MD this is the. He enjoyed golf, pigeon breeding and racing with his son. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and metal work.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth B. Gehr of Eldersburg, MD; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Victor and Tammy Gehr of Eldersburg, MD; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Valerie and Kevin Dawson and Vanessa and Keith Stewart both of Westminster, MD; and great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Courtney Gehr, Jennifer and Jessica Dawson, and Reid Stewart; sister-in-law, Louise Gehr of Waynesboro, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Isabelle Martin Gehr; his son, Samuel M. Gehr; his brothers, Ralph Edison Gehr, Harvey Wayne Gehr, and John Shockey Gehr; and his sister, Katharine Belle Gehr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2003 from 2 PM until 6:00 PM at the home of Valerie and Kevin Dawson, 4616 Geeting Road, Westminster, MD 21158. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.

Died Monday May 12, 2003 at Continuum Care in Sykesville, MD
She was the wife of the late Louis Perry, late Jesse Sirk and the late Harry Pickett
She was born July 8, 1908 in Sneedsville, TN the daughter of the late Ace and late Sarah Rhoystin Barnard. She was a homemaker all her life and loved Gardening and Cooking. She was Saved at an earlier age at Idas Chapel in Sneedsville, TN and remained a faithful member until moving to MD where she was a faithful member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Sykesville, MD until her death.
Surviving are Children: Rev. Foster Perry, Ace James Perry, Buford Perry, Truman Carrillo, Lucille Gaudett and Joan Krickler; 9 Grandchildren: Richard Perry, Robert Perry, Sharon Perry Able, Jimmy Perry, Debbie Perry Mullinix, Donnie Honeycutt, Jeff Gaudett, Teresa Streaker, Ricky A. Green; 8 Great Grandchildren, 3 Sisters: Grace Curran, Ruth Burchett and Gladys Wolfe, She is also preceded in death by brothers Jim and Vault Barnard, 2 sisters Lonnie Dotson and Mae Seal. Also survived by numerous step grandchildren, friends and relatives.
Funeral services will take place on Friday May 16, 2003 at 2:00 PM with Mrs. Pickett lying in state from 1 till time of service at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 2145 McKendree Rd. West Friendship, MD 21794 officiating by Rev. Clifford Bowling, Rev. Donald Shaw and Pastor William A. Phebus, Jr. Interment will be in Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 15, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Those desiring to make contributions may make them to Sharon Missionary Baptist Church C/O Pastor Bill Phebus, 3560 Woodbine Rd. Woodbine, MD 21797

Shirley Irene Logue 70, of New Windsor, MD
1933 - 2003
Shirley Irene Logue (nee Snowdon), age 70, of New Windsor, died Saturday May 17, 2003 at her home.
She was born April 13, 1933 in Mt. Airy, MD the daughter of Emma Snowdon (nee Magers) of Mt. Airy and the late Gilbert Snowdon.
She was the wife for over 50 years of the late Tommy Logue.
She worked for William F. Myers in the meat packing Plant and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy.
Mother of son and daughter-in-law Dale and Sharon Logue of New Windsor, MD. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
Predeceased by a son Wayne Logue.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren 13356 Glissans Mill Road, Mt. Airy, MD with the Rev. Wallace Lusk officiating.
Interment will be in Locust Grove Church cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD
