She was the spouse of the late Donald A. Eitemiller.

She was born November 15, 1922 in Hebbville, MD. The daughter of the late Percy and late Lillian Henritz Timanus.

Mrs. Eitemiller was a Homemaker.

She was a member of Salem UMC Hebbville, MD and also a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed reading, sewing and canning fresh vegetables..

She is survived by Son and Daughter-in-law Kent and Elizabeth Eitemiller of Woodbine, MD. Grandchildren: Patricia D. Eitemiller of Reston, VA and Matthew C. Eitemiller of Woodbine.

Also Survived by numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by William Timanus.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday June 12, 2003 at 10 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME, 1212 WEST OLD LIBERTY RD. WINFIELD, MD 21784WITH THE Rev. Leander Anske and Rev Lamar Kopp officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday June 11, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM

Edith Pearl Knauff 82, of Sykesville, MD
1919 - 2003

Died Saturday June 7, 2003 at Carroll County General Hospital.

She was the spouse of the late William Henry Knauff

She was born June 19, 1919 in Woodbine, MD the daughter of the late Shriver and Elizabeth Haines Pickett, Sr.

She was a nurse at Chapel Hill Nursing Home.

She is survived by Daughter and Special Friend: Linda Reed and Wayne Smallwood of Washington, DC. Grandchildren: Bonnie and husband Ricardo Porras of Sykesville, Tammy and husband Mike Tiffany of Sykesville. Great Grandchildren: Pamela, Janet, Stephanie, Heather, Ashley, Darrell, Rachel, Angela Maria, Jennifer and Stacy. Great-great grandchildren: Devin and Anthony.

Dearest Sister of Evelyn, Herschel, Lawrence, Verley, Junior, Roby and Levi.

Funeral Services will take place Friday June 13, 2003 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

The family will receive friends Thursday June 12, 2003 at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 PM

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Bonnie Porras, 110 John Bennett Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 to help defer the funeral expenses.

Owen Francis Ripley 78, of Woodbine, MD
1925 - 2003

Died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at GBMC in Baltimore, MD

He was the spouse of Rhoda Catherine Evans Ripley

He was born June 1, 1925 in Howard County, MD the son of the late Samuel B and Ella Augusta Leatherwood Ripley.

Mr. Ripley was retired from Springfield State Hospital. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy on the SS John B. Lennon. Mr. Ripley is a Life Member of both the American Legion Gold Star Post 191, MT. Airy, MD and The Westminster Elks Club #2277.

Surviving him besides his wife are his Children and their spouses: Donna Jean Ripley Fleming and Husband Gilbert of Finksburg, Joan Frances Ripley Henley of Woodbine, Francine Ripley Dorsey and Husband Tom Dorsey, Jr. of Woodbine.

Also survived by brother: Robert Ripley of Sykesville Grandchildren: Michelle Lee Fleming and fiancée CB Blevins, David Ripley Henley, Katie Rebecca Henley, Tyler Nicholas Dorsey, Claudia Marie Dorsey and Kyle Owen “Karl” Dorsey. Devoted Friend: Talmadge Balance.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday June 17, 2003 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Fred Eckhardt officiating. Interment will be in Morgan Chapel cemetery, Woodbine, MD

The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Monday June 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where an American Legion Memorial Service will take place at 7:30 PM.

Irvin W. Williams, Jr. 75, of Westminster, MD
1928 - 2003

Irvin W. Williams, Jr., age 75, of Westminster, died Monday June 16, 2003 at his home.

He was born March 9, 1928 in Roland Park, Maryland. He was the oldest of eight sons born to the late Irvin W. Williams, Sr. and the late Gladys C. Williams (nee Deaver).

He was a member of the St. Peter Claver Parish from the time he was a child through adulthood. He was a product of the Baltimore City School Public System and went on to join the Navy at the age of 18. As a result of Irvin’s first marriage he was graced with three sons, Steven, Donald, and Jeffrey (who preceded him in death). He later married Jacobine Helene Buchkremer Williams in 1970. and this marriage brought to him his fourth son, Marlin. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years of service. Irvin touched the lives of so many people with his wit, and generous spirit. He was a very devoted husband, father and brother.

Irvin leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Jacobine; three sons, Steven and his wife, Donald, and Marlin; and the late Jeffrey Williams; 6 brothers, Vernon, Ronald, Iglehart, Michael, Lawrence, Sarsfield and their wives, as well as a half brother, Wesley and two half sisters, Jean and Gail, and late brother Donald K. Williams; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and brother in law Alfred and his wife Helga and son Rolf and his wife Kirsten from Germany.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday from 7-9 PM where funeral service will be held on Friday June 20, 2003 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment Garrison Forest Veterans cemetery.

Betty S. Dotson 74, of Sykesville, MD
1928 - 2003

Dr. Betty S. Dotson (nee Smith), age 74, of Sykesville, died Monday June 16, 2003 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

She was born September 10, 1928 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Frank Otis Smith and the late Harriett Smith (nee Costley).

She was a retired schoolteacher for the Carroll County Public School System. She was a member of White Rock U.M. Church in Sykesville, and was the church secretary and organist and was President of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was on the Board of Trustees for Carroll Community College.

She received an Honorary Doctorate degree conferred by the President of Carroll Community College.

She was the wife of the late Rev. James G. Dotson.

She was the mother of Edna F. Dotson and Lionel O. Dotson both of Sykesville.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday June 21, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at White Rock U.M. Church, 6300 White Rock Road, Sykesville with the Rev. Doris Ridgely of White Rock U.M. Church in Sykesville officiating.

Interment will be in White Rock U.M. Church cemetery, Sykesville, MD

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.

Francis Madison Pickett, Sr. 88, of Woodbine, MD
1915 - 2003

Francis " Frank" Madison Pickett, Sr., age 88, of Woodbine, died Friday June 20, 2003 at Continuum Care in Sykesville, MD.

He was born May 20, 1915 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late Beulah Pickett and the late Elsie Mae Chaney Pickett.

He was the husband of Dorothy Louise Criswell Pickett of Woodbine of 63 years.

He was a Retired Postmaster in Woodbine for the Federal Government for 26 years retired July 31, 1976. He was a self-employed Master plumber. Owned and Operated Southern States Store at Pickett's Corner. Member of Carroll County Gun Club, Mt. Airy Izaac Walton League of America (IWLA) and was an army veteran during WWII.

Children: Son and Daughter in law; Frank and Virginia Pickett of Woodbine, Daughters- Jean and Eddy Condon of Woodbine and Carol and Danny Ennis of Georgia.

Four Grandchildren; Karen Zimmerman, Sherry Jones, Denise Naill and Kyle Ennis.

Five great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

Predeceased by sisters; Mabel Wike, Ruth Eyler and Hilda Barnes

Funeral Service will be held on Monday June 23, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Arthur Monroe of Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine officiating.

Interment will be in Morgan Chapel U.M. Church cemetery in Woodbine, MD

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Pallbearers will be Eddy Condon, Danny Ennis, Bob Jones, Michael Zimmerman, Jonathan Naill, and Allen Barnes.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Ennis, Matt Ward and Zack Jones.

William McKinley Franklin 79, of Woodbine, MD
1923 - 2003

William McKinley Franklin of Woodbine, Maryland died Tuesday June 24, 2003 at Carroll County General Hospital.

He was the spouse of Betty Anna Knill Franklin.

He was born November 29, 1923 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late William Emory and the late Annie Irene Norwood Franklin.

Mr. Franklin was farmer and a carpenter.

He enjoyed Western Movies. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Mt. Airy, MD

Surviving him besides his wife are Children: Roger W. Franklin of Atlanta GA, Betty A. Britton of Woodbine, Ellen M. Franklin of Woodbine, Susan L. Miley of Severn, MD and William E. Franklin of New Windsor, MD. Sisters: Marguerite Harrison of Woodbine, Bertha Jenkins of Westminster, Eleanor Huber of Westminster, Gladys Mae Huber of Westminster, Vera McCluster of Westminster. He is preceded in death by brother Walter Scott Franklin. Also Survived by Grandchildren Christopher W. Franklin, Candice N. Franklin, Ashley A. Britton and Zackery E. Miley.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday June 27, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784(beside South Carroll High School)with Rev. Roger L. Rinker of Calvary Lutheran Church officiating.

Interment will be in Morgan Chapel cemetery, Woodbine, MD

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday June 26, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Everett Eugene Justice, Sr. 78, of Woodbine, MD
1925 - 2003

Everett Eugene Justice, Sr. of Woodbine, Maryland died Saturday June 21, 2003 at Washington Hospital Center.

He was the spouse of nearly 46 years to Nevada Barbara Smith Justice.

He was born April 5, 1925 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late Oscar Norman and late Effie Bell Greene Justice. Mr. Justice was a self-employed Carpenter and in more recent years he sold fresh produce and flowers. He was a Member of the Westminster Moose Lodge, and Four Counties VFW Post 10076 in Mt. Airy, MD

Surviving besides his wife is Daughter Darlene D. Claypoole of Mt. Airy, Grandchildren: Terri Lyn Claypoole of Mt. Airy, and Cheryle Hunt of Vista, CA Great-grandson: Ricky Claypoole of Mt. Airy and Special Nephew :Gary Redmond of Westminster. Also survived by numerous other close relatives. Preceded in death by son Everett Eugene Justice, Jr.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wed June 25, 2003 at 11:00 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Roger L. Rinker of Calvary Lutheran Church located in Mt. Airy, Officiating.

Interment will be in Poplar Springs cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday 7 to 9 Pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM

Ms. Stella Dye of Woodbine, Maryland died Friday June 27, 2003 at Northwest Hospital Center, Randallstown, MD.

She was born September 14, 1910 in Kingston, Raleigh County West Virginia.

The daughter of the late Silas I. And Margaret Cullop Dye.

Ms. Dye was a homemaker.

Loving mother of the late LeFaine Pipes and late Robert Pipes. Dearest sister of the late King Dye, of the late Bryson Dye Sister: (living)Virginia Rowland. Also Survived by 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will take place Monday, June 30, 2003 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. William Stevens officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 9 Pm.
