Died Tuesday August 5, 2003 at Northwest Hospital Center, Randallstown, MD

He was the spouse of Augusta Cook Garber of Eldersburg.

He was born September 1, 1928 in Brooklandville, (Baltimore County) Maryland.

The son of the late Charles Walter Garber and the late Hilda V. Whitcomb Hiers and her spouse the late John Leon Hiers.

He was retired from Baltimore Freightliners and American Freightliner of Washington where he had worked as a Sales Engineer. Mr. Garber had also worked in the Baltimore office of General Motors as Zone Service Representative Claims Administrator. He was a former member of the Freedom Optimist and Westminster Elks club. He was an avid car enthusiast and an Expert Mechanic and enjoyed playing golf and traveling.

Children and spouses: Edward E. Garber, Jr. and wife Michele of Eldersburg, W. Brad Garber and wife Carole of Eldersburg, Timothy S. Garber and companion Sheryl Stachow of Finksburg.

Grandchildren: Travis, Caitlin, Megan, Kevin, Brandon, Ryan, and Logan Garber.

Sisters: Betty Gusler of Reisterstown, Hilda Sullivan of Idaho, Elizabeth Heinbauch of Linthicum and Eleanor Beck of Maine. Brothers: Robert Garber of Ellicott City, John “Gene” Whitcomb of Eldersburg and Stanley Garber of Florida

Funeral Services will take place on Monday August 11, 2003 at 9:30 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD (beside S. Carroll High School). Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm

Jean E. Fecteau 75, of Hudson, FL, formerly Glassboro, NJ
1928 - 2003

Died Tuesday August 5, 2003 at Bayonet Point Hospice, Hudson, FL after a ten-year battle with Cancer.

Born April 10, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Rose Fitzpatrick Kraatz.

She was a graduate of St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, NJ and had been a service representative for the Bell Telephone Company for 30 years.

She enjoyed laughing and talking with her friends and profoundly loved her faithful companions Zeke and Jodi.

Surviving are her sister Joan M. Lenny of Tuxedo Park, NY, Daughters Laura J. Waugaman of Virginia Beach, VA and Christine A. Goldsmith of Winfield, MD and Sons: David a. and Stephen J. Fecteau of Port Richey, FL

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 Pm on Monday August 11, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community Church Eldersburg, MD. With interment in Ebenezer UM Church cemetery, Sykesville, MD

The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Monday from 11:00 AM till 12:30 PM

Edward C. Chamberlin 64, of Randallstown, MD
1939 - 2003

Edward C. Chamberlin, 64, died Saturday August 9, 2003 at his home in Randallstown.

He was the spouse of the late Beverly Hannah Chamberlin.

Mr. Chamberlin was born January 25, 1939 in Jamaica, NY.

The son of the late Eugene Wesley Chamberlin and the late Elizabeth Marie Messer Chamberlin. Mr. Chamberlin was a graduate of Princeton University and was retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company.

Mr. Chamberlin was the current President of The Optimist Club of Randallstown. He was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Baltimore.

Surviving are Sons: William A. Chamberlin of Cockeysville, Kenneth and wife Robin of Shrewsbury, PA and Richard and wife Sheila of Mt. Washington, MD

Also survived by five grandchildren; Kyle, John, Nicholas, Wesley and Hannah.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday August 13, 2003 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784

With the Rev. Edward S. Warfield of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM

T. (J.R.) Newell Cox, Jr. 79, of Pikesville, MD
1923 - 2003

Died Tuesday August 19, 2003 at his home in Pikesville.

He was the spouse of Jacqueline Snead Cox of Pikesville.

He was born September 1, 1923 in Pikesville, MD the son of the late Thorton N. Cox, Sr. and the late Dorothy Graham Cox. Before retiring Mr. Cox was Vice President of Concord Associates, a construction company. He was a member of Milford Mill United Methodist Church, a Member of Pikesville Kiwanis Club for over 57 years. He enjoyed Golf, Woodworking and working around his house and yard. Mr. Cox Served in the United States Army 407th Infantry Division in WWII receiving the Bronze Star Medal.

Surviving as well as his wife are Children Jacqueline Friedland, Barbara Bisset, Deborah Reiblich and T. Newell Cox, III. Brother of William T. Cox.

8 Grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be held Friday August 22, 2003 11 :00 AM at Milford Mill United Methodist Church, 915 Milford Mill Rd. Pikesville, MD 21208. Interment will be in Druid Ridge cemetery, Pikesville, MD

Where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM

T. Wilfred Fleming 90 of Mt. Airy, MD
1913 - 2003

T. "Mr. Will" Wilfred Fleming, age 90, of Mt. Airy, died on Thursday August 21, 2003 at his home.

He was born April 19, 1913 in Howard County, Watersville, Maryland, where he was raised, the son of the late Harry B. Fleming, Sr. and the late Estella Elizabeth Fleming (nee Shoemaker) Smith.

He was a self-employed owner and operator of Fleming's Milk Transportation until Jan 1981. He was avid duckpin bowler at Mt. Airy Lanes for 58 years.

He was the husband of the late Lottie Virginia Fleming (Harrison).

He was the father of Laura Ann Brown of Mt. Airy and Nancy Louise Alder of Sykesville, MD

Dear brother of Nelson Leon Fleming of Hagerstown, Flora Richards of Mt. Airy, Walter J. Fleming of Monrovia, Harry B. Fleming, Jr. of Baltimore, Nellie M. Brown of Mt. Airy, Hannah E. Knill of Mt. Airy, and the late Gertrude A. Hulver, the late Shirley Dubel and the late Stanley Eugene Fleming.

Grandchildren: Thomas Esworthy of Lisbon, MD, Russell Brown of Williamsport, MD, Becky Brown and Richard Brown of Mt. Airy, Joyce Esworthy Kubu of Damascus, Eddie Alder of Sykesville and Jamie Alder of Sykesville

Great Grandchildren- Blake, Matthew and Morgan Alder all of Sykesville

He was preceded in death by great grandson Thomas Brown, April 9, 2003.

Pallbearers will be Tom Esworthy, Eddie and Jamie Alder, Richard and Becky Brown and Joyce Esworthy Kubu.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 25, 2003 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wallace "Bud" Lusk officiating.

Interment will be in Pine Grove cemetery in Mt. Airy, MD.

Herman Filmore Costley, Sr., age 75, of Sykesville, died Monday August 25, 2003 at his home.

He was born May 29, 1928 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late George Costley and late Amanda Nugent Costley.

He was a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of White Rock U.M. Church in Sykesville.

Father of Herman F. Costley, Jr. of Sykesville and Edna Barnett of Sykesville.

Companion of Margaret King of Sykesville

Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday August 25, 2003 at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Doris Ridgley of White Rock U.M. Church in Sykesville officiating.

Ida Marie Vencle Kane, 72 of Mt. Airy formerly of Catonsville, MD, died Suddenly on Wednesday September 3rd 2003 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the spouse of Robert Louis Kane of Mt. Airy formerly of Catonsville.

She was born October 30, 1930 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Stephen George and Mary Frances Elsner Vencle.

Mrs. Kane was a homemaker, an Avid Oriole Fan and Season Ticket Holder since 1949. She enjoyed Bowling in the Westview Ladies Tuesday Morning Bowling league for several years.Loved spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.

Surviving her besides her husband are Children and their spouses: Michael and Suzanne Kane of Finksburg, Stephen and Ellen Kane of Mt. Airy, Theresa and Nick Caprio of Perry Hall, Mary and Rick Parker of Taylorsville and 8 Grandchildren, Sean and Matthew Kane, Stephanie and Lauren Kane, Nicole and Courtney Caprio, Ryan and Sarah Parker.

A Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday September 8, 2003 10:30 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael’s Rd. Mt. Airy, MD 21771. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD with a Christian Wake service taking place at 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Catholic Church Building Fund.

1926 - 2003

Annie Belle Hicks (nee Morrell), age 76, of Mt. Airy, formerly of Bristol, TN, died Monday September 15, 2003 at Gilchrist Hospice Center, Towson, MD

She was born October 23, 1926 in Bristol, TN the daughter of the late Auburn Morrell and the late Leona Morrell (nee Barnett).

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg

Mother of Wilma Pescetto and her husband Jerry of Mt. Airy.

Dear sister of Auburn L. Morrell and Wife Evelyn of Bristol, TN

And Mary Jenkins of Bristol, TN.

Loving grandmother of Josh and Justin Pescetto of Mt. Airy

Also survived by numerous Nieces

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 18, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, MD, with the Rev. James Edmonson of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg officiating.

Private Interment
