James V. Fitzgerald, age 70, of Woodbine, died Monday December 22, 2003 at his home.

He was born September 23, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late John V. Fitzgerald and Anna Marie Slaughter Fitzgerald.

He was the husband of the late Anna Jeanette Hoover Fitzgerald.

He was a machinist (maintenance mechanic) for Maryland Dry Dock. An Officer of the Credit Union and a member of the Union.

He was the father of Wanda Shade of Woodbine, Darlene Truslow of VA and John Michael Fitzgerald of Baltimore

Dear brother of Paul Fitzgerald of New Windsor, Mary Hayes of Baltimore, and Mae Whitley of South Carolina.

Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday December 27, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Wallace “Bud” Lusk officiating.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery, Brooklyn, MD

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

1915 - 2003

Alma M. Smith (nee Stone), age 88, of Sykesville, MD, died Monday December 22, 2003, at University Hospital of Maryland, Baltimore, MD

She was the wife of the late John Joseph Smith, Sr.

She was born December 10, 1915 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Benjamin Whitely Stone and the late Theresa Louise Zamanack Stone.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Flohrville U.M. Church in Sykesville, MD

She was the mother of John J. Smith, Jr. and wife Betty of Mt. Airy, JoAnn S. Dreyer and husband Frederick of Catonsville, Maria S. Haulsee and husband Blake of Winfield, and Joyce S. Lizor and husband William of Sykesville.

Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday December 27, 2003 at 12:30 P.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Henry E. Ernst of Flohrville U.M. Church in Sykesville officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Flohrville U.M. Church 6620 Church Street, Sykesville, MD 21784.

Marjorie A. Kenzie 88, of Mt. Airy, MD
1915 - 2003

Marjorie A. Kenzie of Mt. Airy, MD, formerly of Jackson MI, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at the home of her daughter Lu Ann Beavers.

She was the wife of the late Bernard F. Kenzie who passed away in 1990.

She was a retired payroll supervisor with the Southern Michigan State Prison. She enjoyed knitting and hand work.

In addition to her daughter she is survived by 2 sons: David A. and Wife Mary Kenzie of McCormick, SC and Jack L. and Wife Mary Ann Kenzie of Grass Lake MI. Grandchildren: Susan, Lisa, Jason, Daniel, Michael, Monica, Theresa, Kathy, Kim, Maggie and Jenny. Also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in Death by son: Larry G. Kenzie.

A Memorial Dinner will be held on Sunday December 28 2003 from 2 PM to 5 PM at the home of Lu Ann Beavers.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Agnes J. Williams 92, of Westminster, MD
1911 - 2003

Agnes J. "Mom" Williams (nee Dotson), age 92, of Westminster, died Wed. December 24, 2003 at York Hospital, York, PA.

She was born December 18, 1911 in Winfield, MD the daughter of the late John W. Dotson, Sr. and the late Mary Louise Gassoway Dotson.

She was the wife of the late Marcus Williams.

She was a nurse at Springfield State Hospital and a member of Fairview U.M. Church in Taylorsville.

She was the mother of Minnie Louise Williams of York, Audrey Carter of Chicago, Patsy Spencer of York, Richard Dabbs, Sr. of Randallstown, Betty Alexander of York, Pauline Preston of York, PA and the late James E. Dotson-McMillan.

Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service Wednesday December 31, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School), with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Marcus of Fairview U.M. Church officiating.

Interment Fairview U.M. Church cemetery

Ollie E. Houghton 95, of Plainsville, MA
1908 - 2003

Ollie E. (Morris) Houghton, 95 of Plainville, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at her home in Plainville. She was the wife of the late Harold Houghton.

Born in McGaheysville, VA on December 10, 1908 the daughter of the late Al and Ollie Morris.

Mrs. Houghton was a resident of Woodbine, MD for many years until moving to Plainville five years ago.

She was a seamstress in the Baltimore Area for many years. Mrs. Houghton was an avid gardener and an antique collector. She also loved to play cards.

She is survived by a niece, Eleanor “ Ellie” Wilfert and her husband Joseph with whom she resided in Plainville. She is also survived by many additional nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 2, 2004 12 NOON at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Interment Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 till 12 noon.

Roy Lee Lambert 75, of Westminster, MD
1928 - 2004

Roy Lee Lambert, Sr., age 75, of Westminster, died Thursday January 1, 2004 at York Hospital in York, PA.

He was born October 25, 1928 in Rocky Gap, VA the son of the late Jesse A. Lambert and the late Mary Belle Owen Lambert.

He was the husband of Norma J. Lambert (nee Ravenscroft).

He was a retired Shipping and Receiving Administrator for General Electric Company. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1948-1952. He is a member of the U.S.S. Rochester Association. He was a Life Member of the VFW Westminster #467 and the Westminster American Legion Post #31.

Devoted father of Rhonda Lynne Lambert of Westminster and Roy Lee Lambert, Jr. of Westminster. Dear brother of Edgar W. Lambert of Middle River, Ada M. Metten of Fulton, MD, Juanita M. Punte of Fulton, MD and the late James B. Lambert. Also survived by three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Funeral Service will be held Monday January 5, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-5 PM and on Monday from 10-11 A.M.

Barbara Anne Day (nee Wallace), age 78, formerly of Randallstown, died Thursday January 1, 2004 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD

She was born April 11, 1925 in Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry Wallace and the late Verna Wallace (nee Wright).

She was a homemaker.

She was the wife of the late Stanley C. Day, Jr.

She was the mother of Stanley C. & Lisa Day of Ellicott City, Brian W. & Janet Day of New Mexico, and Roxanne and John Frans of Finksburg.

Sister of Marjorie Aronholt of Arizona and the late Harry Wallace.

Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday January 7, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. David M. Clause of Halethorpe Community Church in Halethorpe officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.

1945 - 2004

Ronald K. Brown, 58, died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at University Of MD Medical Center.

He was born April 25, 1945 in Montgomery County, MD the son of the late Kenneth Brown and the late Charlotte May Skipper Patterson.

Mr. Brown Enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing, Hunting and Fishing, and the outdoors.

Surviving are: Step Father: Walter James Patterson of Dayton, MD

Son: Ronald Warren Brown of Winfield, Daughter: Wendy Millender of Manchester.

Sister and Brother in-law Shirley June and Bryan Lee Kendall of Westminster, Brother: William Edward Brown of Dayton, MD Sister and Brother in-law Patricia Diane and Mark Metzger of Waldorf, MD

Grandson: Brandon Millender

Special Friends: James Dean and Audra Marie Gouge of Westminster.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
