Margaret J. Slick (nee Bailey), age 64, of Monrovia, died Monday February 2, 2004 at College View Center in Frederick, MD.

She was born June 1, 1939 in Tazwell, Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert P. Bailey and the late Mary Hazel Bailey (nee Blankenship).

She was the wife of the late William Howard Slick.

She is survived by one son, William Robert Slick and wife Diana Jean of Monrovia, MD, two daughters, Shirley Ann Prichard and husband Donald of Mount Alto, PA and Barbara Jean Slick and friend Austin Gorsuch of Woodsboro, MD. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Ann Harder of Laurel, MD and Nora May Wright of Damascus, MD, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great grand-daughter, Gabriella Naverro.

She was loved and will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday February 6, 2004 from 10:00 AM till 12:00 noon, at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. Herman Sirk of Goshen Mennonite Church and Rev. Frank Reno will be officiating.

Interment will be in True Gospel cemetery, Lisbon, MD

Joseph Braglio 92, of Woodstock, MD
1911 - 2004

Died Friday February 6, 2004 at Mariner Health Care.

He was the spouse of the late Ida Myers Braglio. He was born September 16, 1911 in Baltimore, MD.

Mr. Braglio was the founder of the Windsor Inn and worked along with his son and Grandson at the Woodstock Inn and Millstream Inn. Mr. Braglio was one of the founders of the Baltimore County Licensed Beverage Association. Loved Horse Racing and owned Race Horses for numerous years.

He was the father of the late Joseph “Wayne” Braglio, Sr.

Surviving him are grandsons: Anthony “Scott” Braglio, Sr. and Joseph Wayne Braglio, Jr. Great-grandfather of Anthony Scott Braglio, Jr., Roman Joseph Braglio, Jared Joseph Braglio and Megan Rose Braglio.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 9, 2004 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784

Interment will be in Granite Presbyterian Church cemetery, Granite, MD

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM

J. Charles Hartman 93, of Westminster, MD
1910 - 2004

J. Charles Hartman, age 93, of Westminster, died Sunday February 8, 2004 at Charlestown Retirement Health Care Center in Catonsville, MD

He was born September 15, 1910 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Charles S. Hartman and the late Charlotte S. Hartman (nee Scoggins).

He was the husband of the late Josephine M. Hartman (nee Ruffin).

He was a Retired Agent for the Railway Express.

He was the father of Lois M. Winship of Towson and Charlotte Foster of Sykesville.

Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School)

Interment will be in Loudon Park cemetery, Baltimore, MD

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association of Md., 1840 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093.

Carl Weston Parker 84, of Frederick, MD
1919 - 2004

Carl Weston Parker, 84 of Frederick formerly of Rockville, MD, died Saturday February 14, 2004 at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick MD.

He was the spouse of the late Eva Wohlforth Parker.

He was born October 26, 1919 in Morganton, NC the son of the late Duncan Shaw Parker and Marie Davis Parker

Mr. Parker was a retired Auto Glass Mechanic whom had worked for Enterprise Auto Glass. He was a Sgt in the US Army serving during WWII. Grew up in Washington, DC and raised his children in Rockville. Mr. Parker was a resident of the Odd Fellows Home in Frederick until its recent closing.

He is survived by Son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Maura Parker of Mt. Airy, Son and Daughter-in-law Gary and Anne Parker of Bridgewater, VT

Grandchildren: Josh Murray, Megan, Marissa, Daniel, Graham, and Jeremy Parker

The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Monday February 16, 2004 from 11 AM till 12 Noon.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon at the funeral home on Monday with Fr. Leo Tittler officiating.

Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville, MD

In Lieu of Flowers donations may be mad to St. John the Evangelist R.C Church 116 E. 2nd St. Frederick, MD 21701

Linda Murphy Johnston 58, of Mount Airy, MD
1945 - 2004

Died on Tuesday February 17, 2004 at her home in Mt. Airy after a long illness.

She was the spouse of Dr. Randolph Johnston, MD.

She was born October 31, 1945 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of Hazel Webb Murphy of Charles Town, WV and the late Woolford Murphy.

Mrs. Johnston was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Mt. Airy, MD with a vocational life as a passionate educator of children with special needs, a loving mother, generous friend and neighbor, fun grandmother and much loved companion.

Surviving her besides her husband and mother are 5 Children, 7 Grandchildren.

Her Life and death will be celebrated on Sunday February 22, 2004 3 PM at St. James Episcopal Church, 202 North Main St. Mt. Airy, MD 21771. With Rev. Portia Hirshchman officiating.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St. Westminster, MD 21157

Robert Joseph Gray, Jr. 52, of Mt. Airy, MD
1951 - 2004

Robert Joseph Gray, Jr., age 52, of Mt. Airy, MD, died suddenly Monday February 23, 2004 at his home.

He was born September 7, 1951 in Patchogue, New York, the son of Robert Joseph Gray, Sr. and Josephine Gray (nee Mercurio) of Clarksburg, West Virginia.

He was a Senior Information Specialist for CSSI, Inc. in Washington, DC. He served in the US Navy for 23 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, W-2. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Jaguar Association. He enjoyed golfing and movies.

Surviving besides his parents are one son Nathan Edward Gray of South Wales, U.K., one sister Terri Lynn Yoos and husband John of Clarksburg, W.V. and two nephews Timothy and Michael Yoos of Clarksburg, W.V. Also survived by one Aunt and seven cousins.

Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be held Saturday February 28, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Sykesville with the Fr. Patrick Tonry of Sykesville officiating.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD.

Bethenia Gallup 85, of Mt. Airy, MD
1919 - 2004

Bethenia Gallup (nee Williams), age 85, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday February 26, 2004 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Mt. Airy, after an extended illness.

She was born January 2, 1919 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late William Williams and the late Clara Crawley Gwynn (nee Feaster).

She worked in a Clothing Factory. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Westminster. She was a member of Westminster Senior Center, enjoying music, Arts and Crafts, dancing and traveling.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and Bill Long of Woodbine, and five grandchildren, Donald Rainey and wife Leeza of Owings Mills, Tanya Brookes and husband Billy of Columbia, Christy Long of Laurel and Heather and Kenny Long of Woodbine. She has two great grandchildren, Jason Brookes and Morganne Payne.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday March 2, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God, 30 N. Cranberry Road, Westminster, MD 21157 with the Pastor Gary Puckett of First Assembly of God in Westminster officiating.

Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD

Reaney "Smitty" S. Smith 88, of Mt. Airy, MD
1929 - 2004

Died Saturday February 28, 2004 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the spouse of Betty Ann Phebus Smith.

He was born May 13, 1929 in Frederick, MD the son of the late Amos Abner and Late Katie Pauline Sappington Smith.

Mr. smith worked as a farmer for part of his life and later worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric and then retired from AT & T. He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman. He enjoyed playing Bingo and Watching Days of Our Lives and Watching Western Movies. He also enjoyed Blue grass and Country Music.

Surviving in Addition to his wife are Daughter and Son-in-law: Kathy and Tony Boreni of Taneytown, Son and Daughter-in-law Craig and Vicky Smith of Taneytown, Daughter and Son-in-law Cindy Smith and Ken Bourdon of Taneytown. Sister Pauline Lenhart of Mt. Pleasant, Brother Amos W. Smith of Frederick and Brother: Richard Cole Smith of Walkersville. Grandchildren Crystal, Jessica, Ricky, Keith and Travis. Great-Grandchildren: Kriston, Jordan, Amir and Natalie

Preceded in death by Grandson: David Shane

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday March 3, 2004 at 11:30 Am with Rev. William Phebus Officiating at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Interment will be in Poplar Spring cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD.

The Family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Monday 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7-9 PM

Pall Bearers will be Keith Smith, Ricky Kisner, Jr., Travis Smith, Oscar Beard, Wayne Duvall and Glenn Morgan. Honorary: Tony Boreni and Ken Bourdon.

Clara E. Hartman 97, of Sykesville, MD
1907 - 2004

Clara E. Hartman (nee Liebno), age 97, of Sykesville, formerly of Rockdale, died Thursday March 11, 2004 at Golden Age Guest Home, Sykesville. MD.

She was born January 22, 1907 in Rockdale, MD., the daughter of the late August Edward Liebno, Sr. and the late Lillie Elizabeth Liebno (nee Reiblich).

The wife of the late Dwight E. Hartman, Sr.

She was a housewife and storekeeper.

She was the mother of Dwight E. Hartman, Jr. of Granite and Carl M. Hartman of Randallstown.

Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Monday March 15, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Dr. Rev. Colin Phillips of Salem U.M. Church in Hebbville, MD officiating,

Interment will be in Mt. Olive U.M. Church cemetery, Randallstown, MD
