She was born April 4, 1931 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Frank Hensby and the late Myrtle G. Fisher Hensby.
She was a Homemaker She enjoyed gardening, animals, puzzles, painting and drawing.
She was the wife of the late Robert Meckley and the late Austin L. Rankin, Sr..
She was the mother of Austin L. Rankin, Jr. of Eldersburg, Vicky L. Strine of Marietta, S.C., Sharon Rankin Logue of New Windsor, MD., Robert L. Rankin of Eldersburg, Joseph L. Rankin of Baltimore, John L. Rankin of Westminster, and Frank L. Rankin of Westminster.
Sister of Jerome Hensby of Baltimore, Mary Rose Gosnell of West Friendship and Analee Davis of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Wallace A. (Bud) Lusk officiating.
Interment will be in Good Shepherd cemetery, Ellicott City, MD.

Gertrude Pennington, 99 of Bramalea, Ontario formerly of Granite, MD, died Saturday January 15, 2005 at home with her family in Bramalea, Ontario.
She was predeceased by Friend and companion Fred Guard and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD on Thursday January 20, 2005 from 11:30 until time of funeral service at 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Granite Presbyterian Church cemetery, Granite, MD

Darrell H. Hawkins, age 45, of Mt. Airy, Died Tuesday January 18, 2005 at his home.
He was born August 22, 1959 in Olney, MD the son of Hartsel S. Hawkins and the late Martha N. Hawkins (nee Hall).
He was the husband of Sandi L. Hawkins (nee Earhart) of Mt. Airy.
He was a former member of Winfield Vol. Fire Co. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was a member of the Harley Owners Group-Frederick Chapter, Enjoyed playing baseball. He coached the Warrior Wrestling and Winfield Baseball. He was a member of Taylorsville-Winfield Lions Club.
He was an Electrician for N.I.H.
He was the father of Shannon N. Hawkins and Darrell (DJ) Hawkins, Jr.
Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday January 21, 2005 at 5:00 P.M. with the Rev. Theodore R. Miller, Jr. officiating.

Asa Nelson Andes, age 81, of Woodbine, formerly of Bealton, VA died Sat. January 22, 2005 at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
He was born September 24, 1923 in Bealton, VA the son of the late W.J. Andes and the late Ora T. Holler Andes.
He was the husband of Ruth June Crizer Andes.
He worked on family farm till 1950 and then went to work for Westinghouse as a sheet metal worker. He served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the Mt. Airy American Legion Goldstar Post 191 and a member at Mt. Airy Senior Center.
Father of Ronald N. & Sherry Andes of Ellicott City, Linda A. Rose and Michael of Clarksville, David S. Andes of Woodbine, Deborah K. Andes of Woodbine.
Brother of Maphis and Lawrence Andes, Evelyn Jett, Ethel Grove, June Crizer and Fern Banks.
Grandfather of Ryan and Justin Andes, Matthew, Amy and Jessica Rose.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday January 26, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Ellicott City Assembly of God, 10600 Frederick Road, Ellicott City 21042, with Rev. Tedd Manning officiating.
Interment in Lake View Memorial Park.

Gertrude Elizabeth Gulas (nee Janczewski), 76, of Owings Mills, died Monday January 24, 2005 at Home.
She was born November 22, 1928 in Hamtramck, MI, the daughter of the late Anthony Janczewski and the late Stella Ziolkowski Janczewski.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Gulas lived in Pittsburgh throughout her childhood, young adulthood, and adulthood. The family moved to Lima, OH in 1962 and has lived in the Baltimore Area Since 1967. She graduated from Schenely High School, Pittsburgh, PA. She was a Brownie Leader in Lima, OH.
She was the wife of George Gulas.
She was the mother of Richard and Denise Gulas of New Oxford, PA, Deborah and Thomas Russo of Naples, Florida, and Robert and Elida Gulas of Westminster, MD.
She was the sister of Joanne and Leon Jurczyszyn.
Also survived by 7 grandchildren.

Norman E. Etzler, age 94, Of Mt. Airy, Died Wednesday January 26, 2005 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, MD.
He was born June 7, 1910 in Mt. Airy, MD, the son of the late Norman W. Etzler and the late Bessie Collins Etzler.
He was a retired manager for Mt. Airy Milling Co. He was a member of Calvary U.M. Church in Mt. Airy, MD, member of the Calvary U.M. Church Chancel Choir for 60 years and He taught Sunday School. and a Charter member of Prudence Lodge #190 in Mt. Airy for 70 years., Charter Member of Mt. Airy Lions Club and the last living charter member of Mt. Airy Vol. Fire Company. He was a Councilman from 1948-1952 and 1960-1964 and Mayor of Mt. Airy from 1954-1958, and inducted into the Mt. Airy Hall of Fame in 2000. He started the Mt. Airy Little League Baseball and he was responsible for the beginning of the Mt. Airy Library Service.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy R. Etzler (nee Roberts).
He was the father of Margaret (Peggy) E. Rodrigues of Mt. Airy and Norma Lee Dennis of Mt. Airy.
Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Monday January 31, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary U.M. Church, 403 South Main Street, Mt. Airy with the Revs. Dennis and Carol Yocum and Rev. Wallace “Bud” Lusk officiating.
Interment Pine Grove cemetery, Mt. Airy.

She was the beloved wife of the late Floyd Leonard Blizzard.
She was a Master Barber in Eldersburg. She loved Animals
She was the devoted mother of Mona C. Pickett of Charlestown, West Virginia, David Kenneth Moore, Sr. of Glen Burnie, Floyd R. Droll of Sykesville, Gary L. Blizzard of Lakeland, FL and the late Sandra K. Taylor and the late George W. Lough.
